  1. @@JohnT surgery was 5/6/15 I am a little over 3 mos post. I had shrimp probably 3-4 weeks out. Been a staple in my diet! tea now is unsweetened with the sugar free lemonade liquid stuff (like Mio) added. An "Arnold Palmer" - but I quit sugar in my tea all together. I haven't had the opportunity to eat oysters but as soon as I do, I will! My favorite snack I haven't tried is popcorn. I have pretty much been "corn free" since surgery.
  2. @@JohnT - shrimp is one of my regular meals (grilled/blackened) - no issues. I also chew it really well and cut it into smaller one bite pieces where before WLS I just bit it off and chewed. I grew up on fish, shrimp & sweet tea! I gave up sweet tea - not giving up shrimp and fish too
  3. @@kmvalade - that's a lot to go thru and to be worried about not losing. Focus on getting healed with those areas and just monitor your intake and move around (walk, swim, stationary bike) as much as possible.
  4. @@nevadapinkprincess - are you doing ok? haven't seen an update from doctors office yet from you...
  5. @@dsheive - put your fork/spoon down while you are chewing too. It will keep you from accidentally putting more food in and possibly over eating. Been there, done that...not a good feeling :/
  6. @@dsheive - DH and I eat out a lot and I have to remind myself to not worrying about leaving food. I usually get a doggie bag. Anyways I hate to bag up a bite or two and instead I ate it and found out my "window" was showing full (not cool). It only took doing that twice to realize - STOP! same with drinking while eating. I just don't get a drink at all. I get strange looks, but that "habit" is still there. I will drink coffee before I eat on Sat/Sun - but that the ONLY meal and I don't drink once the food is there.
  7. @@marbelvsg - ONEderland!!!! WOOOO-HOOOOO save me a seat!!!!
  8. @@TeamMe - congrats!
  9. @@auttinicole - has this been documented at the doctors office, like at an appointment? are you on a pre-op diet? You may want to call and talk to someone at the doctors office they probably can answer that. Do you have other comorbidities? like HBP, diabetes, sleep Apnea, BMI over 40....
  10. @@JessterNC - what about keeping a Protein drink on hand for that long stretch between Breakfast and lunch?
  11. @@LessOfMe0503 - good suggestion about asking what her surgeon/nut said. @@mommyfrog3 - but like @@jenn1 said - you can't change other people. She only ate an 1/8 of a plate, not a great decision for food either IMO, but she may have "binged" that day to Celebrate. You didn't say how she was doing as far as losing weight, eating her Protein, drinking Water, etc. Maybe that's all it was - a B'day celebration.
  12. @@t.deramo12@icloud.com - both @@Bufflehead & @@JamieLogical - gave you a correct answer IMO. Get checked out by your surgeon - you probably are overdue on BW anyways. Keep us posted!
  13. @@Miss Mac - AMEN! eating the needed protein or veggies is so much better for you. you just have to pay attention to calories, carbs, etc.
  14. @@tlemieux220 - great job! save a spot for me in ONEderland.... @@Tanika81 - hello again!!! how are you? @@stephh - 212 this morning! thanks again for doing this I am so pumped! I hit the -70lb from HW today!
  15. @@purplegirl20073 - got a spot for you too! Come on!!!!!
  16. @@joego2014 - God was looking out for you no doubt! Thank God you are here to post! I think it is great that you were able to post without being extremely negative about the WLS. I am sure there are a lot off pre-ops freaking out reading this. I was also sleeved the same day! I had NO ISSUES at all. I am down 70lbs today from my HW. please keep us posted on your progress and welcome to the losers bench!
  17. @@juno5 - I bought the Citracal "petites" thinking they would be smaller than a reg M&M - not! My NUT said anything larger we would have to crush. If you can find chewable ones get them and look for the ones with the D3 added if possible!
  18. Men will pay more attention. Unfortunately some women stop a friendship with a female friend, when she loses weight. Hate to put THAT out there but we have some shallow sisters that get a wee bit (jealous?) when we lose weight.
  19. @@Aga - good morning. Detoxing - yes, did you have a pre-op diet? a lot of us struggled through that before surgery. Being that you hopefully on a post-op diet as well the liquids should be a little easier to get in. what kind of yogurt are you eating? hydrate (sip) as often as possible and watch carbs. make smart food choices and chew, chew, chew.
  20. @@lachellove @@MoniqueMcCoy - anything is possible but why worry about what you cannot really control at this point? I felt the same way and the other concern was the hair loss. I am a little over three months post and I am down 70lbs from my HW about 6 months ago. Follow your doctors & NUTs instructions and breathe and try to relax. I can also tell you that you may feel buyers remorse for a couple of days post-op. Like WTH did I just do to myself???? I had it on day two, first full day home. I realized there was no going back (stomach was in a bio-hazard container somewhere headed to God knows where...). I really didn't have any post-op issues either - no nausea, gas pains, etc. I just grasped the whole idea that it was DONE. Funny thing is I realized within about a day that I NEEDED this surgery to LIVE the rest of my life without huffing & puffing, sweating & squeezing, getting bigger & bigger... NO REGRETS!!!
  21. @@keddykat75 @@ylluz @@Roxie Malone - good luck kids, see you at the losers bench! let us know that you are ok asap!
  22. @@rln52 - got you a seat saved right here <pats losers bench> oh and HAPPY RE-Birthday!
  23. @@lucky1gg33 - I keep shopping my closet for old clothes - the jeans with bell bottoms may give me away though
  24. where do you live? how tall are you? I have a couple of pieces I just found but idk if its worth shipping - they may not "work" for you. I have been clearing out my closet :/ If I had known about 2-3 weeks ago I would've had a few more pieces.
  25. @@neequa25 - I did the same thing early this year, weighed in at 282, my heaviest. THIS morning I weigh 212! I am a little over three months post-op. It will happen.....sooner than you realize.....
