  5. Thank you for all your feedback guys! I wouldn't consider myself an alcoholic by any means. It's just 2 glasses of wine hit me hard and I'll be in social settings and the "peer pressure" to keep having drinks makes me think oh one more, until I'm wasted. This isn't an everyday thing, and I'm definitely not trying to justify my behavior because I clearly have a problem with knowing my limit after surgery. It's frustrating going from being able to out drink the pack and now I'm still in that mind set but I definitely can't do that. I think taking a step back for a while would be best.
  6. So I've noticed that since surgery when I have a drink it hits me hard and I actually blackout when I drink now. I feel super guilty every time I drink now and don't like that feeling. I've decided to stop drinking for a while after another weekend of "OMG what did I put on social media/text/say to people". I will be having drinks in September when I go to Italy but I feel like it would be a good idea to stay sober until then because even though I only drink on Saturdays, I over indulge. Has anyone else been going through drinking issues or do any of you have good mock tail recipes? All the ones I'm finding are carbonated and that's a no no for us. Thanks for listening!!
  7. I'm a month out and trying to figure out an exercise routine. I don't want to over do anything especially since I only get around 4-500 calories in am still struggling with my water intake. Any advice on a routine?

  10. Hi! I had surgery 11/18/15. I was told I could start soft foods tomorrow 11/29/15 and two weeks after that I can start regular foods.
  11. Hi! I start soft and puréed foods tomorrow (woohoo!!) and was wondering if deli turkey chewed well is ok. Or the Morningstar breakfast patties or burger pattis would be ok? They're made of beans and such and I know they can fall apart easily and be chewed down well. Or should I wait still on those? Oh! And what about turkey pepperoni as little protein pick me ups? I bought an egg, tuna, and avocado to get started. So excited!!
  12. So this may be a dumb question but I am dying for a different flavor other than freaking vanilla or chocolate for protein shakes and was wondering if the whole, no fruit or veggies thing counts if it's all blended up? So if I made a spinach, mango, and peach smoothie with water and zero chunks? And of course with some protein powder thrown in (yay unflavored unjury!). Oh and I'm 7 days post op and on full liquids until Sunday when I get to start purées!! Thanks for the help!

  16. I'm in the same boat right now. My thing is I'm afraid to drink enough because then when I get nauseated I'm afraid to throw up liquids.
  17. Omg my nausea is terrible too! I have my surgery on Wednesday and I can't keep anything down. I'm dry heaving and puking after baby sips.

  30. I just found out my information won't be submitted until today so that sucks. And then my insurance confused the hell out of me by telling me they don't do pre-authorizations for wls and that I would have the surgery first and then the information would be submitted to claims. I've been on the phone back and forth all morning between the weight loss clinic and my insurance. Finally the insurance coordinator from the weight loss clinic informed me I was speaking to a claims person who had no idea what she was talking about and that they were submitting everything today. So calling insurance gets me no where and now I'm anxiously waiting. Damn Carefirst BCBS.
  31. 5'2" over here and pre-op. Hoping to be approved and scheduled soon!
  32. Hi! My 6mo diet and all the information was submitted for approval last week! I'm wondering if it's too soon to call my insurance to make sure they have everything they need to make a determination. Did anyone on here call their insurance? If yes, how long did you wait and what types of questions did you ask? Thanks!!!
