I've gained weight!

Help! Has anyone been denied by their insurance for gaining weight during the 6mo diet? I've gained around 20lbs! My doctor took me off of phentermine that was somewhat helping me with my eating habits. I only have this month and September left for the 6mo diet and have everything else done. I'm just really nervous about the weight gain. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks!!!

@@auttinicole - has this been documented at the doctors office, like at an appointment? are you on a pre-op diet? You may want to call and talk to someone at the doctors office they probably can answer that. Do you have other comorbidities? like HBP, diabetes, sleep Apnea, BMI over 40....

@@auttinicole it depends on what the requirements are for your surgeon and/or your insurance. I know some insurance plans will deny people who gain weight. Mine won't -- if you are unsure of the requirements from your insurer or your surgeon, definitely get in touch with them. Good luck!

I called my weight loss clinic and spoke with the insurance coordinator. She said I could definitely be denied due to weight gain but to have my doctor for my 6mo diet make notes about my medications changing. I have Carefirst BCBS. Now I'm even more nervous.

What 6 month diet plan did they put you on? Do they stay involved with you during this process? Have you met with a nut? And a psych evaluation? I hope they didn't leave you without consultation or help.

Reece1239 I have cigna too.
