Am I rambling like an addict?
@@RetroGirl - I feel like that and it's weird, in a nice kind of way.

What is your "scale" strategy?
First thing in the morning after trip to bathroom. I wait about twenty minutes and step back on. That's my weight for the day. I mentally track what I see twice, so if it's 206 on the first weigh in and 205.5 on the second I consider 206 the weight for the day. I am doing the Labor Day Challenge and I am going to maintain the Monday weigh-ins as my weight if asked.

I have a gift for many of you...
wow. I hate typos too. I also have a kindle that I use to access BP. It is smarter than I am and if I do not pay attention it will insert a word that has no meaning or is incorrect for that context. I hate CAPS for the entire post - I feel like I am being screamed at so I don't read them. I am also smart enough that if it's too hard to read (no breaks, just long sentences). I just don't read it. Hate to say it but after coming here about a year I am more intolerant of the folks who don't look in the forums for a thread similar to their question. "Can I eat pizza on day three post-op?" "I haven't had a BM in ten days, should I call the doctor?" "I didn't lose ten pounds this week, am I doing something wrong?" «««««duh»»»»»

3 Days post-op, dealing with the swelling and gas
@@dragonfly78 keep moving and hydrate. if you can do the days with OTC pain meds try to get off the others asap. use them for night time if you can. the more you move the better and try to not lie flat when you sleep. I had pureed at 3 days too. no problems here. I am north of you....near jacksonville....good luck and welcome!

How long did the fast weight loss last for you?
I haven't lost fast. I may lose 1.5 to 2 a week. and sometimes nothing. I am fine with that.

1 week to lose half of a pound suggestions?
@ - you have to know NOW how important following your NUT is - especially pre-op and for the rest of your life and especially after surgery. There is a reason for the "diet" and please understand now that WLS is only a tool and your eating habits will null and void everything the surgery was set up for... Did you get a food plan to follow from the NUT? Review it again and what @@Bufflehead and @@Inner Surfer Girl said was great advice. I totally agree and measure everything out - I don't know if you were required to lose a certain amount of weight pre-surgery for approval. You said a minimum of a half a pound, but you didn't clarify if that was per day, week, etc. you got this

Day 2 post op
@@gihan - congrats on getting the sleeve! My first question is did you see a NUT, pre-surgery? The diet pre-, post and for the few months should have been explained in detail. If they set a schedule out for you its what your truly need to follow. I am about 4 months out and I rarely eat bread (bite or two) and I didn't eat hard cheeses for about a month out. My first real food was scrambled egg with sharp cheddar cheese. I eat that about twice a week. I didn't have cramps post so I can only assume you are referring to bathroom trips. That was different for about a week. Once I was cleared for pureed foods and had them for a day or so the trips we a bit more normal. Pain meds will be a factor in BMs.

A year later and still having a hard time. Need your opinion
@@sweetlia - I think I would get a second opinion. that doesn't sound even normal, especially since you are on anti acids. It wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion and most importantly its a matter of health concerns.

Living with Lymphedema
@@icyblufrz88 - I would think, IMO, that a benefit of any WLS would be helping the lymphedema. The same with the cellulitis. The inability to be somewhat mobile I believe adds to both of these medical conditions in a negative way. Have you seen a WLS surgeon? Gone to a seminar? Hubby and I went to a seminar before I started this journey. There were a few folks there who were struggling with both cellulitis and lymphedema. If I remember correctly there were questions about both and the surgical staff said that the WLS did not adversely affect either -

Couples who have had surgery
@@nikkimapr - what does "not allowed to have it" mean? That would be my first question at that come to Jesus meeting. I would want full explanation. Is there some kind of monetary limit on your insurance? Are they considering this elective? Who is the primary on the insurance? Does that play a role?

How soon after your last pre op requirement was complete did your surgeons office file for insurance approval
mine was submitted after my last mandatory NUT class. I have BCBS fed emp and within 10 days or so I had a surgery date!
