I think i stretched my pouch! Please help
I get a knot in my throat when I have ate one too many bites - then the sweating and flushing starts that @@OKCPirate talks about. That is really uncomfortable. It takes about 45min or an hour to get pass that feeling for me. I sipped water to help flush food through my stomach. My first instinct was to try to puke it up (about 2 weeks post) and thought "OMG am I nuts??? New stomach with sutures or staples???"

Lucky sleever
@@Tyler H - I had the same post-op experience and my first soft food on day 4 was a scrambled egg with cheese - it was divine! I didn't do any bike rides but I was up and moving and I haven't stopped since. I am almost 6 months out and I did abide by the doctors rules about lifting and that was hard for me as we were moving into our new house. I "recovered" post-op in a 25' RV with hubby and 23 y/o son....that was worse than the surgery!!!! we moved about 2 weeks after my surgery

Any bad experiences ? by not taking vitamins/protein drink
IMHO - the medical staff you paid to do the surgery (and explain the nutrition requirements) was part of the process for a reason - its a no-brainer. to quote @Babbs - "just saying"

Loose skin fear!
@jessmarie0122 - since you are 28, you probably still have elasticity in your skin so you will probably fare better than me. I weighed 242 when I had my daughter at 22 and 204 when I had my son at 28. My tummy recovered very well then but I was not over 175 lbs but for a few months... Unfortunately the weight I MAINTAINED from my early forties until May 2015 has not helped and my tummy will probably NOT recover. How long have you weighed 280? That may have an effect... I agree, I would rather at 52, not look like the Pillsbury Dough inflated! The deflated version may not be to everyones liking but I am thinking of my health first!

Post Surgery Craving Ice/Ice Cold Water
@@cal2okl - I used to crave ice, and was anemic pre-WLS. Now, not craving it, and iron levels were good on first labs post-op. I have been pretty good about taking my vitamins so that may be why ;D

Received my approval from Cigna today!

Sleeved May 26, 2015
@@melanievr78 - I also had surgery in May 2015, I started out at 266 (doctors weight, my HW was 282) and I am now at 194. It that gives you an idea of where someone at 5'8", 52 y/o woman is in her journey....sounds like you are moving along quite well even with the cellulitis.

Poop (Literally, and TMI, obviously)
I am like @@1SlimmerMe because I was never regular before surgery and the lack of veggies an addition of Iron supplements made this "difficult". @sonnysun - I called and talked to the nurse and she recommended dropping the iron supplement because my multi already has iron in it. When I did my labs she said they would review my iron level. It was right on track, so I am not taking the extra 27 mg. I have been anemic (iron deficient) for the past 10 years. I guess being religious about my Vitamins has helped that, post WLS, and the fear of losing ALL of my hair! Nurse said I could take Miralax and I take it AS NEEDED.

Greek yogurt:/ Yuck!
I am a yogurt fan from way back....Greek has bit more tangy taste IMO but I love it. I do not care for plain unless I am substituting it for sour cream. I like the great value flavors from walmart as well!

When people ask what you did to lose weight how do you respond?
@cal2okl - I hate those kind of people. I worked with a gossipy group of older women, when I was in my mid-twenties, and it made me very wary of sharing anything with people with certain personalities (aka gossipy b*tches)

Stuck stuck stuck!
@@ALLABTME_KISHA - venting, I get it Keep on track, like you said, and try to get some cardio in your exercising. I don't exercise because my job is pretty physical. I am up and down all day (stairs, squatting, lifting, walking) so I am pretty exhausted when the day is done. On the weekends I have tried to maintain that level of physical activity and that helps me get that extra scale movement - everyday try to do 30 minutes of something that keeps your heart pumping!!!

When People Notice Your Weight Loss
I thank them and usually the conversation ends there but sometimes I get asked what I have done to lose so much. I have been very open about it and explained. I just prefer to not give out numbers. I remind them that this journey is for the rest of my life, so it will never actually be "over" until I am taking a dirt nap :/ and that I am no where near what I need to be but that I appreciate the support.
