  1. @@dstined4gr8tnes - how are you doing? haven't seen a post from you in a while?
  2. @ - awesome story, thanks for sharing. I reaped the same benefit buying a jacket on mark down rack at Wal-Mart yesterday. Thought it wouldn't zip (12-14)...it did!!!! I never tried on anything under a 14 for tops (I am rather chesty) and that was a surreal moment. No more flowers, loud prints and extra money for plus size shirts/tops!
  3. @@CanyonBaby - how are you doing? I haven't seen a post in a while - jane
  4. @@kdelrosso - MERRY CHRISTMAS! Happy early Re-Birthday too!
  5. congrats on losing the "bag" as a cover !!!!
  6. @@Angie W - stay on the track the doctor/Nut has given you pre-op. Make sure you list every question you have to ask tomorrow. Don't forget to get the required Water & Protein in as well everyday. Watch the calories/sugars... You "got this"
  7. @@CowgirlJane - thanks for sticking around here on BP for us newbies Your history of being 4 years out, and maintaining, gives a lot of us hope that we can join the "maintainers bench"!
  8. @ - wow. First of all atleast you are honest about it. Your fears, I think, are warranted. Is someone with you that can control the prescription? My son is an addict and when he wrecked his back a year ago in Nov, we locked up the meds and handed him one at a time. Is your medical team aware? I would definitely discuss OTHER options for meds. I personally didn't take the RXs except a day or two after being home and then they got trashed (my adult son lives at home). Reach out to someone ~ wished I could help you. I still cant trust my son and it sucks.
  9. IMHO there really isn't a lot you can do - it is kind of a game of chance. Age, genetics, length of time you carried the weight, etc all affect your chances of excess skin. In my case I am 52, weighed over 250 for past 7-8yrs and I am 5'8". I have excess skin. When I was younger and topped out at 242 preg with my daughter at 22 my stomach bounced back very well (very flay - except for stretch marks). I was a lot younger, only that weight for about 2-3 months. Five years later at 200 and preg with second son I also recovered very well. I am thinking about plastic surgery may for Christmas next year on my stomach and getting the "girls" repositioned. Sorry I can only of my opinion.
  10. @@kimdlawson06 she will be fine. praying for you both.
  11. @@Elode i remember seeing a pic of your tummy a while back. I would love mine to look like that! glad to see you back on BP.
  12. good luck Christmas sleevers! got three seats saved on the losers bench for all of you!
  13. @@mya.mys - it will be here in no time....2 weeks!
  14. @@Kamily828 - welcome to the BP family
  15. @@Nurse_Lenora I have noticed my food needs to be tasty and seasoned or I am not wasting my space on it. love spicy and hot!
  16. I didn't have a center of excellence. I just personally felt that I WANTED to know as much as possible. I was educated about a lot through the program. I have dieted most of my life so stalls, plateaus, whatever....happen. if you are still shoving crap in your mouth and NOT admitting to it, well...that's why the scale isn't moving, duh? I answer some of the repeat questions because I feel the new person needs someone to answer, tomorrow @@Babbs, @VSGAnn, @InnerSurferGirl or @Blerd can answer the next time....
  17. @@OKCPirate I agree.
  18. @@FrankiesGirl thanks for sharing! Elsa Lancaster was awesome as the bride:D
  19. NSV!!! no doubt, hands down that one is awesome!
  20. @@kelcified - like OP said, we all have been different rules... what were yours? I wasn't told no fried foods. I have had "buffalo" wings and friend Mozzarella sticks since probably 6 weeks out (wings, the cheese later...). Key phrase mentioned a few times - baby bites, chew well and wait. Watch the portions. A wing or two and maybe a mozzarella stick or pass on the stick and eat something else. Enjoy the company. food is fuel only. There are going to be times when you have to use the info you were given hopefully pre-op. Protein first, veggies and then carbs...eat smart. QUALITY over quantity ALWAYS!
  21. @@jimney - Happy Re-Birthday!
  22. @@kranky813 - great attitude! It is tough to stall - I am doing that right now and the weight loss has slowed down now too. But it okay - I got this!
  23. I did and didn't like the way it made me feel. That was years ago and I only took it for about two weeks, if that. It made me feel jittery.
