  1. @@Lexuskela I feel a lot thinner than I am. I gets lots of compliments and questions asking have I reached my goal. I am about 35 from doctors goal. when I tell them that they freak out. I have taken a couple of pics and I still look a bit heavy. but nothing like before.
  2. Wal-Mart carries them as well.
  3. @@Cervidae - sorry I can't help you with the PCOS. I just had very heavy florida periods and could easily go up 6-7 pounds during the days leading up to the actual start. I cramped sometimes. heating pad and some otc "girl meds" ???
  4. I forgot to add that I have used it in place of sour cream on a baked potato. I haven't had a baked potato since surgery :/
  5. @@adcovington87 that's pretty normal. expect it for a little while longer possibly. this too will pass
  6. @@wwboy thank goodness it was benign.

you know what has happened in your heart. I agree with ^ thread from @BrandonKea. part time job taking pictures? of what....or whom? ex GF? sorry, had to say it.
  8. @@Kindle I totally agree with the others. your posts are always spot on and your post here was personal and heartfelt. for a newbie hearing you have survived weight-wise thru some personal tragedies helps me. thanks Kindle
  9. @@Inner Surfer Girl - shredded sharp cheese and a pear/pineapple (canned natural juice)
  10. I personally cannot drink the SF Torani. It has a bad after taste that I couldn't get past. I also cant eat Kale either or the SF popsicles everyone seems to be able to eat post-op. I have added vanilla to FF greek yogurt and have added the powdered PB to yogurt as well. YUM
  11. @@AggieSleever - just wanted to add make sure the broth is low sodium. try to get as much sodium out of your diet too. If it is near that TOM, that could also cause you to gain like usual. What you are experiencing is VERY normal. Hide the scale, eat your Protein, hydrate and try to get some kind of physical activity going if you haven't. Patience young Sleever
  12. @@Yaberhoo @@ddaisie00 - I would also hiccup post-op those first few weeks when I was approaching "full". I still hiccup/burp but not like those first few weeks
  13. @bluejeanbaby....if you think that is funny, I will admit here on BP what I DID do waiting to be allowed to drink. Ready??? I was allowed to have a wet washcloth to wipe my lips.... ....I sucked the water out of the washcloth a couple of times. it was either a covert maneuver like that, or my face stuck to the window licking it dry! jane
  14. @@pezzypooh - follow what your doctors orders are as far as eating. If you are allowed any liquids see if you can strain the regular soups: broccoli and cheese, chicken noodle, etc. its much better than broth (pre & post-op). Look for low-sodium too. Get rid of the caffeine now if you are required to do so afterwards. Easier to gradually back off than go cold turkey. Stay hydrated as long as possible even up to the night before surgery. I was the "first in" the next morning and just happened to wake-up at 11:45. OR nurse in pre-admissions said to drink up until midnight if I wanted - the better hydrated you are it easier on finding veins, etc... This is the beginning of a journey in life, use it. good luck and keep us posted.
  15. @@thenewandbestme - TODAY you woke up with a rapid heart rate or at the hospital from surgery? On BP meds? Hydrated???
  16. @@amy.taylor8414 - no, I can honestly say I haven't had that happen yet. I have raced to the bathroom multiple times. What did you eat before the bathroom trip?
  17. @@ezbeinggreen - my post-op "guide" was very similar to yours...I have had no issues....we don't all get the same directions
  18. @@tracy amanda - thanks for chiming in I just wanted you to know that I don't feel you have to be "very religious" to pray either. That's why I closed the thread the way I did....just pray. Its about asking OP, outside our virtual family, to add this brave young man to their prayers as well.
  19. @@Mom26 - I have shared your post with others and your son is in multiple prayers. please keep me posted. I believe in the power of prayer.
  20. soft scrambled with cheese was my first real food. chew really well and eat only a couple of bites and wait. I hiccupped like the OP when I was full. It is better to eat a little less than to eat even ONE too many bites. Its miserable. it will get better.
  21. @@tmcx28 - how are your feeling today? Happy Belated Re-Birthday!
  22. @@TodayItEnds - welcome to the family. I am post-op and don't regret my choice at all. Like most, wished I had done it sooner! I didn't like the thought of bypass and I haven't had any real issues post-op. The reality of not eating a lot to feel satiated is kind of surreal. Whatever you decide make sure you can live with it. Its YOUR life and its a TOOL, not a magical wand good luck!
