Not me, I stopped my wine (my vice) last week, I am off all coffee and am trying to lose a few pounds before my surgery on the 10th. I feel like I could eat a horse, but I am fighting that feeling. I went and bought all my sugar free stuff and a few more Protein drinks today. I do not have a pre-op diet but am trying to cut back in hopes it helps me post surgery. Good luck!

I am enjoying all kinds of "last suppers" before liquid diet starts next Thursday. Nothing overboard, but one last taste

My 2 week pre-op liquid diet started March 2nd and the week before I had all my favorites; pizza, Mexican, Chinese and Indian. I called them my food funerals. I am on day 4 of my liquid diet and after the first 2 days it's been a lot easier. Congratulations and good luck.

My surgery date is March 23rd. My surgeon requires a two week pre-op diet which consists of four Protein Drinks daily and only Clear Liquids. Well I have three days till I start and let me just say I am eating anything and everything I can. I'm so excited for this life changing surgery and I'm scared. I know I will be able to eat things I want in moderation again someday. I just feel like this is the time to eat whatever guilt free! Anyone else experiencing this "last supper syndrome" ?

Definitely!! Do you have a pre-op regimen? My surgeon requires me to go on a specific Protein Drink diet 14 days prior to surgery ???? it makes me nervous to even think about it but whatever I have to do. I gave up caffeine this weekend too and I already gave up carbonated drinks months ago. Figured I might as well "detox" now rather than wait til the very end.

How exciting for you guys! I too had the RNY because I had uncontrollable reflux. I am now 3.5 months along and have never had a problem with reflux/Gerd and my case was very severe! They had me take my nexium for the first 30 days and I have been off all meds since.
I wish you guys the best of luck and pray for a speedy recovery!
Keep us posted on your progress!

How exciting! I hope your insurance comes through with an approval very soon. I know it's hard to wait for the answer when you've jumped through all the required hoops and just want to get going with the surgery.
I also considered the sleeve but found out that due to my reflux issues, that surgery was not suggested. It was discovered during my endoscopy that I have a hiatal hernia so I need to get that taken care of at the same time as my surgery. That made scheduling a challenge since the hernia-fix-it guy is a thoracic surgeon and they are very difficult to book.
Wishing you the best of luck! Keep us posted!

Sorry to be negative but do you really think smoking weed is in line with the healthy lifestyle you want? It slows you down, increases appetite, numbs you out, bad for your lungs. Just saying... Is it worth it? Not that I'm one to talk I know we all need our ways to relax.

My insurance requires the 6 month process before surgery. In the beginning I was upset that I would have to spend another half year struggling with what I've struggled with my entire life. I'm three months into the process coming up on my fourth visit. While I still want the surgery to happen yesterday I've learned so much from my visits with the doc and nutritionists. I have already started making changes such as cutting out carbonated drinks, eating foods that are better for me and so on. Not saying I do it perfect I certainly do not but it's a learning process an idea of what my future will be like after WLS. There are days now that I'm unbearable, I have mood swings, I can get grouchy. That's just part of me being human. My desire to be thinner, healthier and more active completely out weigh my fears of staying where I'm at.
My thoughts... make a pros and cons list what out weighs your choices? Only you know. Do as much research as you can so you know exactly what you're getting into. And no matter what you decide all that matters is that you're comfortable with your choice. Good Luck!!!

@@avermette Glad to know I am not alone! I have been getting a bit better at NOT making excuses to have bad meals. In fact, a comment made by our local pizza place snapped me out of giving in any more. We had called to order (again!) And someone in the back said 'they order a lot'. I was mortified. No more! I have lost 2lbs this week and have been doing well during the day with Protein drinks, string cheese and Water. At night we have a ton of veggies and a lean Protein as well. Not having a few drinks during the weekend hasn't been sucessful, though
I am totally loving the GNC lean chocolate shakes and am excited as I have some Syntrax nectar on the way...lemonade, iced tea and peach. I like chocolate, but am sure that eventually I will be wanting something new.
    TWO MONTHS!!!!!!!!
