  1. if the greek yogurt is too thick for you just try regular yoplait yogurt. I eat that all the time because I don't like the thickness of the greek yogurt and have no problems

    Ouch chest pain

I had some pain like that in the first few weeks they did scans and determined it was muscular. I actually went to the chiropractor and he said a big part of it was that I was out of line which is common when being in the hospital bed for few days and then your own bed. After he adjusted me I felt great. That could be what you need.
  3. @@WL WARRIOR I am 9 months out and my nose runs and I sneeze. That is my body's way of telling me that I am full.

    Diabeties

Prior to surgery I was taking quite a bit of insulin in the am and the pm along with taking victoza. When I was in the hospital for surgery, they stopped my insulin and never put me back on it. In fact my A1C numbers have dropped down to 5.6 and they were at 11 prior to surgery. So you may not need to be on it for long. I would definitely check your sugars 4 times a day and give those readings to your PCP so they adjust your insulin.
  5. I have two jobs and was out 2 weeks. I was ready to go back sooner than two weeks but my surgeon wouldn't release me until then.
  6. you could bring bananas, those little apple sauce cups, protein powder and you can get bottled water on plane or before you get on to mix it with, tuna in packets (if allowed). and drink lots of water. You may find that you don't need alot. I can eat something and it will be hours before I am even hungry again. You can always get a protein drink in after you land or if you have a layover and that will help with your protein intake.
  7. I had a lot of back pain at first. Tylenol didn't do much for me either. I found that going to a chiropractor helped a lot so that is definitely something to try. I wold be careful taking Celebrex. I was told I can not take it for my knees anymore. It is a NSAID drug and can cause ulcers so if you are going to take it, be careful

    Birth Control

I have been on the depo for about 3 years. My surgeon never said anything about discontinuing it so I have continued to take it. I haven't had any side effects or weight gain and I don't get a period, so I would try the depo.

    How long out of work?

I have 2 jobs, one full-time job and one part-time job. They are both desk jobs. I went back after two weeks. I wasn't in pain or having complications. I was actually ready to go back earlier but my doctor wouldn't let me go back until 2 weeks.

    Sandwich Wraps

I have not eaten regular bread but i eat wraps all the time. I will eat chicken or steak wraps and don't have any problems with it. When i first tried it, i had difficulties with it feeling like it was getting stuck, but tried it again several weeks later and now no problems. If something doesn't feel right eating it at first, wait 2-3 weeks and try again and it could be different. That is one thing my doctor stressed to me.
  11. you may not even need to take those medications after surgery. I took a long acting insulin, short acting insulin, and Victoza all prior to surgery. After my surgery, they stopped all my insulin. They said it was because they didn't want me bottoming out taking them especially when I was in the liquid phase. As I progressed in foods, my numbers stayed low and now I am eating solids and my numbers are still low and not back on any diabetic meds. This surgery was the best thing that could've happened for my diabetes.
  12. I have a history of blood clots ,but the hospital kept a close eye on it. They gave me shots of blood thinners several times a day. Had me up and walking several times a day and I had the compression devices on my legs. My surgeon also sent me home with 3 weeks of injections to take. The hospital does a great job of staying on top of things and making sure there are no complications like that.
  13. I had pains like that at about 3 weeks out. When I took a deep breath it hurt in my ribs and my back and sometimes in my chest. I went to see my surgeon and he ran several tests. Said there weren't any leaks, clots, etc. and that everything with my surgery went well. They came to the conclusion that it was musculoskeletal and that i threw something out of whack between the hospital beds and my beds. So they suggested going to get a massage or going to the chiropractor. I went to the chiropractor and he cracked me and since then I have not had any pain like that. He said that I was really out of line and that is what was causing all that pain.
  14. I am 3 weeks post op. Everything has been going well for the most part. Ever since the day after surgery, I have had mild back pain but tonight at work I had the worst pain I have ever had. I am experiencing pain in the middle of my back and also in my chest. I do not have my gall bladder, had it removed many years ago. The pain in my chest is like almost like I am short of breath at times. I am just wondering what this could be. I wonder if between the hospital bed and my own bed if I could have thrown something out in my back and just need an adjustment by my chiropractor or if it could be something more. If it is something as simple as needing an adjustment, how soon after surgery would you recommend going to the chiropractor. I just don't want anything to happen to my stitches or incisions.
  15. Had surgery on the 25th. Off work until April 7th. I have my followup appointment with the doctor on April 6th and will be able to start puree foods then. Can't wait!!
