I want food!!!
I'm thinking that a partial unfill might be the thing to do. All I got down today was a little coffee, water, diet snapple and 2 cups of soup. And none of it went down easy. Some pbing everytime. I will call the doc Monday. Maybe just taking out .25 would be OK. Still think an x-ray makes sense.

I want food!!!
Cindy, I'll give it to Monday. If I can't get on soft foods by then, I'll call the doc. Maybe I can get a barium x-ray before getting an unfill. I was able to eat too much before this and I would hate to go back to that. If I just need to wait this out a bit, I will. I should find out if there is a problem with the band first. Any ideas how to get rid of this bubble once and for all?

I want food!!!
I want any food that I don't have to drink! Anyone ever hear of someone having to stay on liquids a week after a .5 fill? Thick liquids like soup or smoothies have trouble staying down. I know. I should call the doc but I haven't lost this much or this fast since surgery. I feel OK otherwise, just want to eat something, anything. Darn gas bubble goes away for a while and keeps coming back. Other then calling the doc for an unfill, any suggestions? I'm able to drink slowly so I'm not dehydrated. I'm able to drink down about 600+ calories so I'm not malnourished but I'm craving real food. What can I do to get rid of this bubble that is blocking my band? I think thats why I can't progress to soft foods yet.

Chocolate can get stuck!!
Wendy, I'm going to pick up some liquid Benedryl tomorrow. The stuff tastes awful and makes you sleepy but if it works I will happily gulp it down. This fill reminds me of how I felt a week after surgery. It was hard to revel in the weight loss because I was so miserable with gas pain. 10 days after surgery, I was in the ER getting IV liquids for dehydration because I couldn't sip water without getting gas pain and pbing. An x-ray showed a big gas bubble above the band and I think its back. It finally popped a few days later which is why I'm trying to wait before calling the doc. The weight loss is great but why does it have to come with such a price?

Chocolate can get stuck!!
So here's a new one. Remember how I said that chocolate is my downfall and I wish it got stuck? Well, apparently I jinxed myself. I haven't had anything more solid than pudding since my fill last Thursday. Today my son gave me a piece of chocolate break-up that was softened. He loves chocolate too, all 69 pounds of him. Anyway, I was hungry and that piece went down so I had another. I had only taken in about 50 calories by then and needed some energy. All of a sudden, I felt the stuck pain and started pbing and sliming...for an hour! My son had an eye exam and I had to keep going into the bathroom at the opticians. Can't imagine what they thought was wrong with me! How embarrassing. This was as bad as when I got stuck on shrimp. How?! Chocolate melts!! I have such a big gas bubble that comes back whenever I drink anything so maybe the chocolate couldn't get past the bubble. I had a bubble like that for 10 days after surgery so maybe it will go away soon. Right now, I'm trying to get down a little egg drop Soup and it won't stay down. I'll give this to Monday or as long as I can stand it. I have an appointment with the nurse practioner next Friday. Instead of another fill like she thinks she's giving me, I may need an unfill. I would like to hold out till then and get a few more pounds off but this is miserable! I'm gonna try till either I can't get down any liquid at all or go nuts!

Onederland! Oh, yeah!!
Thanks New Year! You'll get there before you know it! 65 pounds lost since 2/27 is awesome!!

Onederland! Oh, yeah!!
Thanks, Cindy! As glad as I am to be in the 100's, I'm getting tired of being too tight to swallow liquids comfortably. It feels as if there's a big gas bubble around the band. Every time I drink something, I feel it. This is how I was a week after surgery. Lots of gas-x strips and it eventually went away. I'm still going to try to wait it out a bit longer. I don't care if I have to stay on soft foods for a while. That would be welcome after this!

Onederland! Oh, yeah!!
:lost1lbs::thumbup:I did it! I did it! I did it!!:thumbs_up: O.K., with a little help from a tight fill, but...I'm in ONEDERLAND!! And this is a beautiful place to be. The grass is truly greener on this side of the border. To see a "1" instead of a "2" on the scale was an overwhelming relief. These last few days on liquids has been worth it. Who needs to eat? food is so overrated! Actually, I will call the doc if I can't get on mushies in a few more days. I want to wait until I am safely in the lower 190's before I ask for an unfill. I'm not dehydrated. I just need to still sip slowly. Anyway, getting into Onederland was a major goal however I did it. Can't wait until we are all over the border!! :biggrin2:

So what if I can still barely choke down liquids. This supertight fill has me losing again! Maybe I'll see Onederland tomorrow! Seriously, if I don't loosen up a bit in the next few days, I may need an unfill. I'm still not in pain, but I can really only get down Clear Liquids if I sip slowly. I'm trying to wait it out and focus on the scale going down.

the story of my unfill
Actually the pill you take rectally is called a suppository. The doc gave me a prescription for them right after the surgery in case I was nauseas afterwards. It's good to have them on hand in case you get a stomach bug.

Slipped Band
Thanks, Linda. I appreciate your concern and your unfill experience definitely has me thinking. I'm on day 3 after the fill and still on liquids. Still having a difficult time swallowing. I have to take small sips or it comes back up. I constantly need to burp after drinking too. So annoying, yet I'm losing again. I'm not in pain so I'm going to wait it out. The nurse practioner wants me to have another fill in 2 weeks. I don't think so! This did happen after my last fill back in March which is why I waited so long for another one. It did loosen up eventually but took about a month before I could eat more comfortably. I should have gotten this fill sooner as I have not lost in weeks. On a "lighter" note (don't mind the pun), I took my teen daughter to a Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts concert tonight up at Bethel Woods, the old Woodstock site. She called me while she was out today and said so many people she knew were going and really wanted to go and have a "girls night out" with her mom. She's 16 so that doesn't happen too often anymore. I went online and 3rd row, center seats were released today so I grabbed them. It was the closest I ever was in a concert and we had a great time. I prefer classic rock over country but they were great! All I had there was an ice coffee which took me the whole concert to drink. Oh, well. Can't wait to get on the scale in the morning!

the story of my unfill
Wow, Linda! What an awful experience!! I just got a fill a few days ago and am pretty tight. I'm really hoping I can handle it cause I stopped losing. So sorry for what you went through. You must have been really upset when the nurse couldn't find your port and the doc was away. Thank God they found another doctor! Aren't the nurses trained to do fills? My surgeon never does them. He has 3 nurse practioners for that. I'm still on liquids and struggling a bit to swallow but it does go down. I won't wait if I run into a big problem. Thanks for the warning!

Slipped Band
You're right, Sades. I do worry about having a problem especially since I was able to eat so much lately. This fill definitely stopped my eating in its tracks so I guess its working. I'm still having trouble swallowing liquids comfortably. I did manage to slowly get down a little blended soup tonight. This is why I hate getting fills but it is fun to watch the scale move down so fast. Unfortunately, I usually hit a plateau after the initial weight loss after a fill. How are you feeling? Here I am complaining about a small fill and you're recuperating from surgery! I'm such a baby!!

Slipped Band
Even before this fill, I couldn't eat for the first few hours after I woke up. The nurse said that the band is tightest after sleeping and to first have something hot like tea or coffee. I usually have some soup for lunch even though my doc doesn't want us to have soup cause of the hidden carbs and salt. He's very strict although I'm sure that if I followed his plan exactly, I would have lost a lot more weight by now. He's all about getting the weight off as fast as possible. I'm sure I'm a disappointment to him. Problem was that before this fill, I could eat a lot once the band loosened up for the day. I still can't get down more than a few sips of liquid at a time. I'm really tight but not in pain. If it starts to hurt, I'll call the doc's. I'm lucky that the nurse will open up the office for patients in an emergency and take some fill out if necessary. She wants to add another .5 in 2 weeks. Don't see that happening.

bandster hell: at 7cc
Marie, I'm glad things went well for you and you're back on track. I wonder if my pouch stretched? The nurse questioned if my band could have slipped cause I have been able to eat so much. However, I had no other symptoms so maybe my problem was the same as your's. I'm on liquids too for a few days after the fill I got today. I have an appointment in 2 weeks. If I can still eat the same amount we'll do an x-ray.

What level are all the Nov 07 bandsters at?
69 lbs is awesome!! I had .5 put in today to bring me to 7.5. This should get me into the 100's.
