  1. Congrats you new Onederlanders!! I hope to be joining you real soon. Save me a place over there!!
  2. So Foofy, the secret to getting off a few quick pounds is to eat more than usual for a few days and then get back on track? Sounds like a great plan if only that would work for me! I would just gain a few and then lose the same pounds.
  3. Wow, Cindy! Another pound down!! That's great! I need to kick the carb habit too. Sades, let us know what the doc says after your test on Thursday.
  4. You found the right place, Huskerette! Being banded in Nov. '07 is all you need. You are doing amazing with only 2.25cc in your band! Looks like you are more than halfway to goal. If you have trouble with fills and are losing at a good rate, then maybe you're tight enough. A few people who use my doc never get fills at all. Sometimes the band is tight enough as is. Anyway as I said on the Meltdown thread, welcome and glad you found your peeps! :biggrin2:
  5. Congrats, Lindata!! I can't wait to be "just overweight" too!! Wow, that's something I never imagined myself saying! But after being "morbidly obese" and now "obese", "overweight" sounds great!
  6. Now I'm more confused than ever. I haven't been too young for something in a long time!

Glad you found us! Never too late to jump into one of our challenges. We're a fun and friendly group of bandsters who support and cheer each other on. Congrats on being more than halfway to goal!
  8. I finally have decent restriction too which is why I have been steadily losing one pound a week. So darn slow! I wish I could find the motivation to excercise but I had neck surgery a year ago and a recent x-ray showed that the discs are not completely fused. I often have neck and upper back pain and even walking a lot hurts. I think I should look into a water aerobics class if it's not too straining.
  9. Good luck Froggi! We'll be thinking of you this November and sending you good wishes for a successful banding. You'll do great and will be so happy you did this for yourself!
  10. OK, you guys are just wearing me out with all that excercise talk. I'm exhausted just reading your posts! Think I can burn off a few calories by osmosis? :crying: Now where did I hide the elliptical?
  11. Cindy, I'm all for blaming the husband. I blame him for my gaining weight in the first place! Hell, he's used to taking the blame. Kids too, especially the teenager...or is that why my hair is going gray? Sades, what do you mean the answer to life is 42? Do you mean age 42? I'm 44, does that explain why my body loves to torture me with overnight weight gains? :crying:

I had actually gained 2 lbs earlier this week so at least I lost those and an additional pound. That's 50 for me! Can someone please tell me why it takes me a week to lose one measly pound but only one day to gain 2? :confused2:
  13. We could all go meet Sades at the Great Barrier Reef next year in our bikinis!! :biggrin2: Cindy, you're on your own in Antartica! Can't do the cold!!
  14. Hey, Cindy! Where did ya go? We lost you after the cookie attack!
  15. That's awesome, TX!! Lowering your blood pressure so much is amazing! That's the best thing you could do for yourself. Getting into smaller pants is always great but your health must come first. So happy for you!
  16. Sades, My doc said that the size of the band he puts in and how much fill is needed for good restriction depends on how much fat is around the stomach. Perhaps because you started out thinner than most is why you need so much more restriction. Just a hypothetical guess.
  17. Cindy, I totally get what you mean. I just spent a half hour getting down a chicken breast, but Cookies? Right on through the band! They crumble into tiny pieces so down they go. Anything chocolate is my downfall. Didn't lose an ounce during the week after Easter! Gotta keep the unhealthy stuff out of the house. Easier said than done when you have kids. My teen daughter works for Dunkin Donuts. Even though donuts don't go down too easily, the chocolate glazed donuts sang to me! I told my daughter that if she brings them home again, I'm disowning her! Sades, something must be up with your band. Nothing would go through mine if I had 9cc's in there. Let us know what the doc says after you get it checked out.
  18. Sades, I will just be happy to join you in Onederland! "So close and yet so far" :crying:
  19. Congrats, Lindata!! I've got 1 pound to go before I hit 50. That pound just does not want to come off! I'll kick it off eventually! :crying:
  20. TX, Have fun building that workshop. My hubby's cave is in the basement where he has his office. He finished that basement before he touched the rest of the house when we moved in. He calls it his cave, we call it The Dungeon!! :biggrin2:
  21. OK Nymphs, summer is here, according to which calendar you look at! Or winter for our Aussie friend, Sades! So after posting your final weight on the Kick-Off challenge, join us for a meltdown! :rolleyes2: Let's take this one all the way to Labor Day and see who's the biggest summer loser! Good luck, Nymphs! Now let's melt some pounds off!! Name..........Start........Current.........Goal........ To Go CindyG.........204...........204...........184...........20 Onederland, here I come!!! :rolleyes2:
  22. Sades, Labor Day in the U.S. is Monday, September 1st. I forgot that we have different holidays! I wonder why we don't have more international members. Is banding as popular in Australia as it is here?
  23. Bandpal, So glad your wife is all better. We were worried. Now get some rest! Don't worry about a couple of pounds. You're doing great and will get back on track.

The first day of summer is Saturday. I was thinking we could have a Summer Meltdown Challenge until Labor Day. That would give us a little over 2 months to really get some weight off. What do you all think? Is almost 10 weeks too long for a challenge or would that be OK?
