  1. Sades, Best wishes for a successful surgery and easy recovery. I know you will do just fine. Hopefully, you are already sleeping by now. I figured out that you're 14 hours ahead of me. Please get some sleep tonight so you're well rested. Try to think about how much easier it will be to get that weight off now. Focus on how skinny you will be very soon and try not to stress too much. I know it's hard but concentrate on positive thoughts. Think of you and your bandster friends getting together at the Barrier Reef in our new bikinis! Good luck tomorrow. Please jump on when you get home and let us know how you did. We will all be thinking of you!
  2. It is torture!! When I hit 199, I'll jump on here and do a happy dance. Until then, I gotta stick with the program and my day will come.
  3. These 2 pounds are driving me nuts! I keep thinking if I just hardly eat for a couple of days I will see 199 on the scale. But I know as soon as I start eating again, those pounds will come right back and I'll really get upset! Gotta just keep going at it slow and steady!
  4. Lanie, That's amazing! Congrats!! You lost your weight so fast. Wish I was as disciplined. I should be joining you in Onederland soon but I keep going up and down 2 pounds. Can't wait to get there!
  5. Shelly, I agree with Jill. 28 days is a long enough way off that you could get a bit unfilled if you're still uncomfortable after a couple of weeks. Think how much you could get off before the cruise! Sounds like a great motivator to me! Good luck to your hubby. Hope things go well!
  6. Hey Judy, I'm so sorry you have to have surgery too. This is getting scary! I'm sure as I said to Sades that this too shall pass and before long the rest of your weight will drop off. You both have been trying so hard and lost weight regardless of the lack of restriction. Imagine how great you'll do when the band is fixed. Stay positive and remember your Nymph friends are pulling for you!!
  7. Hey Sades, Did you get any sleep? Try not to worry so much that you don't get your rest. You need to keep your strength up. I am so sorry for what you're going through! I think I would be more mad than scared. This will be over before you know it and a few weeks from now we will all be so envious when those pounds melt off you!
  8. Whoops, you and Foofy are posting while I was writing. I see your surgery is booked for Thursday. Good luck, Sades. I'll be thinking of you!
  9. Oh my gosh, Sades! I have never heard of that happening before!! Foofy is right. You will have to have surgery anyway to remove the old band so you might as well get a new one while the doc is in there. You will do amazing afterwards as you lost some weight already with no restriction. However if you lose 100 lbs, you will disappear! How in the world did your doctor make such a mistake? Did he give you an excuse? What day is your surgery? Please jump on here when you get home and let us know how you did. Sending you positive energy and best wishes from across the ocean. As my wonderful, optimistic dad used to say "This too shall pass". :tt1:
  10. Marie, you are doing great! 75 pounds is a lot of weight. My doc said that the more you lose, the tighter the band has to be. You probably just need a fill. Keep us posted!
  11. OMG, Cindy! That made me laugh out loud!! You are too funny!! Should make Sades smile! :biggrin2: Hey Sades, what did the doc say today?
  12. SADES, SADES, SHE'S OUR GIRL!! IF SHE CAN'T DO IT, NO ONE...... OK, what rhymes with girl?! curl, pearl...?? Better just leave the cheerleading up to Cindy!! :biggrin2:

I'm taking 2 hard summer grad classes at once these past 5 weeks and I know why I'm not losing fast enough. I stay up really late to get my schoolwork done as the kids keep me busy during the day. When I start to fall asleep at the computer, I grab a snack for energy. These classes end Wednesday after I have to do 2 presentations, write a research paper, and take 2 finals! Ughh, I'm too old for this crap!! The next 6 weeks I'm only taking 1 class but I have to write a 30 page paper with that one. It will still be easier than the last 6 weeks were. Hopefully the scale will move faster if I get some more sleep!
  14. Hi Kendra!! So good to hear from you! I was hoping that no news was good news. Don't wory about the 20 lbs. Many chemo patients gain weight for the reasons you mentioned. It will come off when you're done with treatment. Just concentrate on getting well. Your trip to California and Denver sounds wonderful! We drove Route 1 years ago from San Diego to San Francisco and it was amazing! Bet your daughter is looking forward to seeing you. Have a great time and let us know how your scans turn out. Still sending you positive energy from NY!!! :tt2:
  15. I only get about .5cc at a time in a 10cc band. right now I'm at about 6.5cc and am definitely at restriction. However, before I got there, i went 3 months without losing. Now I lose between 1-2 pounds a week which my doc says is fine. I was getting a small fill once a month or 2 months until I was full enough. You definitely need to get some more fills. How often are you allowed to get them? However, 44 pounds is still great!!
  16. I had a feeling something could be up with your band, Sades. Didn't want to be pessimistic. I'm not sure what is done for a slipped band but I think it is fixable. Look on the bright side, at least you know what's going on and once the band is fixed, you should start losing weight again. Let us know what the doc has to say.
  17. That's a great NSV, Jaime! I was amazed when I learned I could cross my legs too. It's been a few years!
  18. Wendy, I'm back in school too working on my Masters in Mental Health Counseling. I wish I had time to read something I want. A quick scan of People magazine seems to be all I could fit in these days. I have so many novels waiting till I graduate next May. I'm going to spend all of next summer catching up on some trashy novels!
  19. Cindy, you're losing at such a fast pace. Everytime I check, you're down another pound! We have about the same amount of pounds left till we reach our final goals. I need to jump on the bandwagon with you the rest of the way!
  20. Don't worry, Sades! I'm sure everything will be fine. You just might be too thin for your band. You will know in two days. Try not to stress. I'm sending you good thoughts from NY all the way across the ocean!
  21. Shalee, that is just excellent and very motivating! You're losing at a faster clip than me but I fall off track a lot. I'm 50 pounds less than last summer and although I am more comfortable, I don't feel that great. I thought I would be down more but I learned that the band can't do everything for me. I still have to make better choices. I'm looking forward to next summer already and buying cute clothes and swimsuits then. Congrats on doing so well!!
  22. Yum, you're making me hungry! Last night, hubby and I went to see Chicago and the Doobie Brothers in concert. Had a blast and felt like a couple of teenagers. Also drank a couple of Mojito coolers they were selling at a concession stand. Oh yeah...Maybe that's why I gained a pound overnight again!
  23. Oh, yeah! There it is!! :frown: Damn, does this mean I have to actually use the thing?
  24. Yeah Foofy, "morbidly" obese does sound like death sentence. As if we didn't feel bad enough, we are made to sound like walking corpses! Must have been some skinny, sadistic doctor or scientist to come up with that label!
