  1. Here are mine: 1. Fitting in clothes that were too small when I bought them! 2. Finally feeling comfortable in clothes since they now fit right. 3. My rings are too big (I hate having to resize them though) 4. Some shoes are too big (I hate this because I LOVE Shoes) 5. Ordering a dinner out and I have enough left overs for 2 other meals (I am now a cheap date!) Gilta
  2. I have not had reflux, but it sounds like something is happening. I suggest you call back the office and tell them that this is still occuring and you are not eating late nor having caffeine. They probably will put you back on your meds. Gilta
  3. Hi All, Sorry I have been MIA. I had some major family issues to deal with the past few weeks. I hit below 200! I am very excited as you can imagine. It has been over 5 years since I have been below that number and the only reason why was due to complications due to a surgery. I have had a bit of fun trying on stuff that formally did not fit me and now they do. I was very excited when I found that a faux fur coat I bought quite a while ago (it was too small but I thought I could lose to get into it) now fits! It is on its way of being too big. I will be able to wear a big sweater underneath it. I am scheduled for a fill this friday but I don't know if I will get it. I don't have the huge hunger issues that others have. I am getting in about 800 calories a day. I do get full after the 1/2 cup meal that takes me about 15/20 minutes to eat. I will be calling them today to see what they suggest. They may want to wait another week. What do you think? Should I hold off? Gilta
  4. Good luck going back to work. I know it is nice to be waited on! I was exhausted my first week back even though I have a desk job. Just take your time and meds if you need them. Gilta
  5. Heather, I am so sorry to hear about your bruises! I hear they can be painful. I am scheduled for my 1st fill on 9/12. I am only occasionally getting hungery, but I am eating every 2-3 hours. I hope you feel better soon.
  6. Feel better soon. You will be up and around in no time.
  7. Hi All, I have "graduated" and am allowed to add in ground beef/turkey, tomato sauce, kidney Beans and soft cheeses. I obviously will make some chili and burgers, but does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks!
  8. I am now allowed to add in ground beef, kidney beans, tomatoe sauce and soft cheeses. Of course, what am I planning to eat - CHILI!
  9. Good luck on your surgery! After surgery, I did not feel like eating. Actually I am just now starting to get hunger pains! Liquid diets are tough when you have no restriction. I wish you well on your journey.
  10. I also had a hard time in the beginning with the Water. The PA suggested adding in some crystal lite. My problem was not only desire, but taste too. I also had popscicles that helped. Each day will get a bit better. After 3 weeks I am now just up to about 20 oz and they are fine with this. She said some people it takes a few months. Feel better soon!
  11. Kel, I am glad you feel comfortable with your decision. That is the most important thing! Things will seem like they take for every to happen and the next moment it is time for the surgery! Let us know when you finally have a date. I am now 3 weeks out and doing well. I was down 20 lbs! I know this will slow down eventually, but I am enjoying seeing the scale move fast. I started on adding in a few things this week. I feel hungry now, but only can get in about 1/4 cup at a time. I get the signal "hiccup" and immediately stop. That helps a lot. Keep in touch~
  12. No, I cannot say I have have had that. It possibly could be the gas though.
  13. My first meal was 1/4 cup of chilean sea bass with a bit of cream of asparagus poured over it. They just added ground beef, tomato sauce and soft cheese. I am lucky if I get 500 calories in a day, let alone 225 in a meal! I am just now starting to get hunger pains on a regular basis. If I eat something every few hours I am ok. Good luck!
  14. I am so sorry you are going through this. I wish there was something I could say or do to help you. You will get through this and you will be a stronger person for it. He is not worth crying over. Just think, if he did this to you, he probably had done it to her and will continue. These types of guys do not change. (Trust me, I was once married to one) Believe in yourself, your family and your friends. They will be there for you during this "rough" time. Remember - this is all about you, not some stupid jerk that isn't worth it. Hugs
  15. My hospital stay was not fun either. I wish I had gone home! The gas pain will go away eventually, but it does stick around for quite a while. I am 3 weeks out and occasionally get bloated or pain in my shoulder. Take your pain meds on time and keep a heating pad near you. It does help! Good luck.
  16. Good luck! I am sure everything will go fine. Let us know how you make out.
  17. Yes, every MD is different. I am also on the wait 3 weeks before adding in new foods. I am up to cottage cheese, cream Soup, and that sort of consistency. My pain in my shoulder is just now starting to fad and I am 3 weeks out. If I eat too much or too fast I notice it quicker. I guess it is a good signal to stop.
  18. Hi All, Here is my latest: Since Jan - Down 31 lbs Since Surgery - Down 20 lbs Since last Friday - Down 5 lbs Exercise this week - walked 2 times for about 1.5 miles Let's hope it keeps going 5 lbs a week! I know I will slow down, but I am enjoying seeing the scale move fast. My clothes still fit. . I was hoping at least 1 thing would be too big so I can replace it.
  19. thanks for the notes! I am very happy so far. I think the hardest part is the head hunger!
  20. I can feel my port, but not my band. I have lost about 20 lbs since the surgery 3 weeks ago. I had a hard time eating and drinking. Until about 2 days ago, I was lucky if I got 1/4 cup per meal in me.
  21. Unfortunately, I do not like refried beans. I was told to hold off on beans because they cause so much gas. They say the skins can cause problems as well.
  22. I saw someone asked about what we were eating on this phase, so I thought I would share. Maybe you can give me ideas too! Breakfast examples (only 1 of these): Egg Beaters - just 1/4 cup is all I can handle right now 1/2 package of cream of wheat w/ lactaid low fat milk lunch (I am almost to the point where I can have 2 of these): 1/4 cup cottage cheese 1/4 cup butternut squash with butter spray 1/4 cup Tuna fish with low fat miracle whip and a touch of celery/onion powder and 1 tsp of pickle juice 1/4 cup Canned chicken with low fat miracle whip dinner (Again it is 1-2 of these): 1/4 cup Chilean Sea Bass grilled 1/4 cup White Fish 1/4 cup Canned Chicken with Potatoe Soup mixed together with 1/2 can of lactaid milk to almost a "chicken ala King" recipe 1/4 cup butternut squash 1/4 cup Cream of Asparagus soup Snacks: 1/4 - 1/2 of a snack cup of SF/FF Jello 1/4 - 1/2 of a snack cup of SF/FF pudding sugar free Popcycle Sugar Free Fudgcycle Anyone else have any other ideas? I would love them!
  23. I cannot believe tomorrow it will be 3 weeks since my band! It seemed like forever to get to the surgery. The gas pains are still lurking, but nothing like what they were. I no longer need the heating pad, just occasional tylenol. I am still on the mushy phase, but will switch fully to soft next week. I have not had really any cravings, which I am thankful for. I am up to between 1/4 and 1/2 cup per serving. For a while there, I was lucky to get the 1/4. Yesterday, I got about 500 calories which is the most I have had since the surgery. I am drinking Water better too. I am losing weight pretty fast, but I am sure will slow down soon as I can now eat a bit more. I am starting to get the "head" hungry feeling. I was able to avoid it last night when after I ate a bit more than 1/4 cup, am I full or did I just like the taste of it? I decided it was the taste. I put the rest away and thought if I really wanted it, I would heat it up in 15 minutes. Guess what, I did not want it later! I guess I made it over 1 hurdle, 10 million more to go!! I have a 15 cc band in and they put in 2cc during the surgery. I go for a fill, if needed, on the 12th of Sept. I may need one the way I am going today. For those of you are preparing to get the band, take care and good luck. Those of you who have the band, CONGRATULATIONS!
  24. Congratulations on being banded! I tried to get out of my chair and walk every 1/2 hour. I don't know how far I walked or how long. I did not have many calories so I tired easily. I used gas X strips which helped a lot as well. Good Luck!
