  1. Last week - 175 This week - 173 I finally broke my plateau thanks to everyone who helped me out with that. I worked out 3 times this week and 2 of them were high impact the other was this am with a ball class. Did not like that one though. I am still fighting the carb monster (well the carb and sugar one). I am trying so hard not to add in my tenth weight until I get under 150. I felt like I was always cheating! Gilta
  2. Just a follow up - I called my MD and I cannot get in for a fill until after the 1st of the year. One of the MDs in the office is out so the others are covering for him and everything is booked up. So I have to do this on my own until I can get a fill. I will exercise at least 3 times/week with cardio challanges as suggested. I will write down everything I eat. I will measure everything I eat. I will eat less than 1100 calories (doing this is when I lose weight) Let's hope this works so I can hit my New Years Challange. Congrats Brad on hitting it already!
  3. wow- looks like everyone is doing well! Congratulations. Size 6 jeans?? I don't know if I will ever make those. I was thrilled when I got in the 14s. Unfortunately I am lagging behind. Last week 175 This week 175 I don't do decimals, but if I did I am up 1/2 lb. I am hoping that next week brings a big number for me. I hope to figure out what I am doing wrong.
  4. Thanks for those that responded. Gary - you are right. I have come so far and I need to re-dedicate myself. I thought that with exercising so much that would be enough, but I know it isn't. Lellow - I agree with both you and Gary - a fill is due. I am trying to hold off until January, but I think I should try now. General - let's hope that works for me as it did for you! Thanks again all!
  5. Oh - Teri I am so sorry to hear about your son. I hope he is doing better now. I have heard that stress can tighten you up and I wonder if that is what happened to you. You are doing great on your loss. I am not doing so well and I am up 1 lb from last week. I have exercised 3 times already too. I hope it will disappear quickly. I know it is because I am eating more than 1000 calories.
  6. Hi All, Where is everyone??? Things are really slowing down for me, but I am scheduled for a fill in the beginning of January. I did not want to do it so close to the holidays and have any problems. how is everyone doing? I think it was Barbie who was up next for surgery. The 17th, right? Hope all is well.
  7. Hi All, I thought I would reach out to you all to see if you can help me. I am starting to see some of my old eating habits creeping back into my life. I was doing so well there for a while and since the beginning of November I am not doing as well. I feel like my head hunger is controlling me versus the other way around. I can eat anything had have absolutely no problems what so ever. Last night really hit home when I realized for dinner I used a "normal" sized dinner plate and ate everything. The only thing that is keeping my weight in check is all of the exercising I am doing. I did gain 1/2 lb so far this week, so even that is not helping any more. I don't want to fail this. I have worked too hard to get here, but I don't know what else to do. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for your help!
  8. I also cooked normally and just selected just a spoon of each. It worked out well for me. I think I drank too much wine over the weekend, but I did get in a few workouts which helps.
  9. Looking good! I forgot to take pictures so I have to admire yours!
  10. Wow - Hawaii (can you pack me?) Traveling can be hard, but I also ask for everything minus the bread. I packed a small cooler bag and put cheese, beef Jerky, Protein bar and a piece of fruit. This worked out well for me. Have fun!
  11. Last week - 176 This week - 175 Exercise - 3x with 2 of them with my trainer. I think I burned about 1800 calories this week! I did well for dinner yesterday. I hope to do a lot of walking today to keep on the right track.
  12. For me, the more often I have to check in the better off I am. I need the reminder to stay on task. I am already down 2 lbs since I signed up so hopefully I will get those other 10 lbs off by new years! I am working out this afternoon and our gym is having a ZUMBA workout in the morning tomorrow. I don't know if I will make that one since I have to get the bird in the oven by 10am and the class is at 9am. Maybe I will go for 1/2. Keep up the good work everyone and as Goosie said - Don't be a couch potato! Happy Turkey Day All ( Lellow - enjoy the holiday lunches but not too much)
  13. I was in the beginning and they found my Vit D was extremely low (should be around 40 and mine was at 21). I started on prescription Vit D which helped a lot. I am now down to just daily, but if I miss a few days I notice it. I agree about the Protein as well. Carbs make you tired!
  14. Last week: 178 This week: 176 Lost : 2lbs Exercise: 2 group training classes, 1 - 30 minute interval training I hope my plateau is over. It only lasted 2 weeks, but I had to do quite a bit of exercise to get through it. I use a monitor to track my calories burned and last week I hit 2100 calories burned from just my exercise. I am really hoping I can get into 160's by January! Have a great Thanksgiving to all those in the US.
  15. I have been on a plateau for the past 2 weeks. I found I was eating a bit more and drinking wine way too much! I was having a glass a night which I think is what stalled me. I stopped and am exercising pretty regularly which is helping. I finally had a small loss this morning, but won't know officially until Friday weigh in.
  16. Unfortunately the gym I belong to I don't fit very well on the bikes for the spin class. I am only 5'2" and my legs are short. Even with the seat down all the way, I barely touch the pedals. Right now I am in a group training class. There are 8 of us with a personal trainer 2x/week. She mixes it up from 30 minutes cardio and 30 minutes weightlifting. We use treadmills one day then elliptical the next. Yesterday the gym was full so we did a step class. Oh boy was that a work out! I know that exercise is a must for me. If I stop, I stall and start to gain. I cannot miss a week again or I will never get this fat off of me!
  17. Barbie - Dec. 17 will be here before you know it! Things are not going so well with me this week. I did not lose any weight last week and it looks like this week will be the same as well. I know I am doing the wrong things and I need to stop the behavior. I am having wine too often, not exercising and started eating chocolate on a regular basis. I did start up with my group training and will be going 2 times a week, which I know will help but I have to get away from the other stupid stuff. I am not hungery so a fill will not help me. This is all head hunger. I started yesterday to write everything I eat down again to see if that would help. I have been eating around 800-900 calories and yesterday it was about 1050 and I really tried to watch what I ate. I know why I am not losing, I just need to get in control Hope everyone else's week is going better than mine.
  18. Great idea! I am up for it. So here is my vital info - Gilta--------Current 178--------New Year's Goal 166
  19. Congratulations! You should feel proud of what you have accomplished. Enjoy the attention! Gilta
  20. I wanted to share with everyone after all of those that responded to my last thread. We had a total of 33 respond and 1,188 lbs lost since surgery!!! That is an average of 36 lbs/person. That is a tremendous number! I am sure there are others so our lbs keep racking up. Should we do a challenge on losing 2,000 lbs total? Keep it up!!
  21. Last week - 178 This week - 178 No loss, but it is my fault! I have gotten into a bit of candy and did not work out except 1 time this week. I know this is what stopped the weightloss. I need to get back on the horse and fix this before I gain anything. I hope I have a 3 lb loss next week to make up for it! Have a great week.
  22. Sorry I have been MIA. I have been traveling and then just found out my DH has to have some surgery. On one of the chat groups I am on, a few people have asked about banding after bypass. Only one person said they heard of this before, but it was very unusual. As others said, I would suggest contacting the local MDs to see their thoughts on it. I would call all of them as I am sure they all have a different thought on it. Things are going well otherwise. I am slacking a bit in the exercise so I need to work on that this week.
  23. I am able to eat about 3-4 oz Protein and maybe a bit of veggies. I find that if I eat to fast, I get that stuck feeling. I have only had 1 fill and I think that my be the right spot for me for a while. I have lost 45lbs so far, so that works for me! I also use chicken thighs as they are more most. I will pound them down a bit and use a chutney with them.
  24. Last week = 181 lbs This week = 178 lbs I was stunned when I saw how much I lost this week! I went to Las Vegas to visit a friend and to go to a convention. I thought for sure I gained. I have not exercised much, but I have walked a lot. Have a great weekend!
  25. Hi All, Things are moving along. I really was "bad" this w/e. I am due for TOM which I think is causing the cravings. I did give in and had some M&M's. I know I shouldn't but I ate them and then I realized what I was doing. I hope I stopped before it got too bad! Melody - wow a month already? You are doing great! I am short and am just now getting into the 14's and I even got into a 12! Melissa - it will be here before you know it. How was your appt with your PCP? Did they fill out everything? How is everyone else doing? Gilta
