  1. I am eating 3 meals with 2 small Snacks. I have more of goals of no more than 1/2 cup of Protein with 2 TB of veggies with each meal. I am to get 60g of protein as well as my 60 oz of fluids. Gilta
  2. Gary How are you eating the 10-12 oz of Protein at dinner? My MD limits me to less than 4oz at a time. I don't think I could tolerate it that much. Gilta
  3. Good luck with your interview! Let us know how it goes...
  4. That is wonderful! I hope to be there with you in a few days, but it seems like it is taking forever! Gilta
  5. I am having a bit of a hard time figuring out what to eat! I need to find a really good cookbook to help me out. This is what I had yesterday: 1/4 cup egg beaters 1 oz low fat cheese 3 oz sea bass, 1/4 c veggies 1/4 - 1/2 cup pudding that I made with milk (helps increase protein) 1/4 cup vegetarian baked Beans, 1/4 cup canned chicken with LF miracle whip 1/4 cup hummus with cukes I think this works out to be less than 1000 calories. I also did work out as well and based on my monitor, I burned about 500 calories, so I did pretty well! Gilta
  6. Hi All, Did everyone love the raining weekend? I was hoping to go to the Naples Grape Festival, but with all the rain skipped it. I made it to Barktoberfest for a bit. I did not get much exercise in this weekend either. Melody - welcome! I was lucky enough to have found this group prior to surgery. I have my weightloss listed as what I have lost to date after starting this journey. I worked at losing all of the weight, so I am tooting my own horn! I know what you mean about the cream soups. When I was able to eat chicken, I added the canned chicken with cream of mushroom soup/or onion then I would only add 1/2 can of FF milk. This gave it almost the consistency of chicken ala king. Carol - We have to get together soon! I will email you directly so we can organize it up. I went shopping this weekend with my MIL and DH. I NEVER go with them as my MIL is a size 10 and my DH always picked out "older" clothes just because they were my size. I could never walk into a store and buy something unless it was Lane Bryant. I like their stuff there, but that was the only place. Well - I am offically out of the "W's"! I bought a size 14 jeans (the stretchy kind) and Large stretch wool like pants. I could not believe it. I tried on the 16's and they were too big. I tried on the non-stretch and the 16's are a bit tight, but I can button them. I was hoping to hit under 190's by October 1st and this am I am about 1/2 lb away. Hope all is well! Gilta
  7. I replied via private, but also thought I would reply here. I have not had any fills as of yet. They said as long as I am losing on a regular basis, then they will not fill me. This week I only lost 1 lb so I think I will need one soon. Gilta
  8. Terri Oh - I am so very sorry! You are more than welcome to join the thread! I have been on the August 2008 forum and not here too much. I see that you had your surgery on the 16th (my birthday!). How are you feeling? Are you up and moving around without problems? Where did you have your surgery? I read your post from a few pages ago. You are smart to get on the right path now with your boys. My son is 19 and he is overweight as well. I tried teaching him, but he just copied what I did. He now sees what I did wrong and is trying to change, but it is hard doing yourself. How much have you lost so far? Gilta
  9. Good morning, Loss - 1 lb: I was hoping for more but as long as it is a loss Exercise - 2 aerobic classes, 2 training on elliptical and 2 runs on Wii fit Bindi - Great loss! Roheryn - It does sound like you need a fill. I am not too far behind you as well. Still no fill but needing one. Lindar - WOW - 4 lbs?? I dream of that! Janda - WOW and I thought 4 lbs was a lot, but 6?? How did you do that? Lana - I am one of those people that weigh themselves every day. I wish I could forget!
  10. Hi Barbie, I am sorry about your stomach bug. That is going around here too. I am grateful I have not gotten it yet. I am slowing down on my weightloss and only lost 1 lb this week. I was hoping for more. I know I will need a fill soon, but have been trying to put it off as long as possible. I had my surgery at highland. I have been extremely happy with their care there. THey have been very supportive throughout my journey. I had a bit of an issue post op with calories and the nutritionist talked to me for about 1/2 hour on the phone to straighten me out. Feel better. Gilta
  11. Tess/Gary, Thanks for the advice. I am planning on giving away a bunch of clothes this weekend, so maybe my closet being empty will help! I am trying very hard not to buy too many clothes in my current size as I hope to be out of it soon. I am keeping track of my measurments, but only once every month. For me it is hard to see much of a difference each week. I will give a try with pictures and rewards and see if that helps. I guess I should just be glad that I am doing well!!! Gilta
  12. I have been on an exciting rollercoaster for almost 9 months. Going for all of the meetings, getting insurance approval, losing the required amount, liquid diet prior, waiting for surgery, having surgery, liquid post diet, mushy phase, soft food phase and starting back working out. Well - now here I am 8 weeks after surgery and I feel like I have lost some of the excitement. Now it is just the hard work of losing the weight. I still have not needed a fill yet as I am losing a pretty good rate. I am one of those people who needs steps to each goal. That is why I really did not have a problem waiting those 8 months to have the surgery, there was something that I had to do each month. This only had to happen once so I did not get that "bored" feeling. I am extremely happy I did this, but I think I am at that bored stage. Yes, I work out with a trainer and am eating well but I have lost some of the excitement. I work out with the trainer on Mondays (it is a circuit training class so there is no time to think, which I love), Tuesday Wii Fit, Wednesday Elliptical, Thursday Wii Fit, Friday - rest, Saturday - Total Body Conditioning Class, Sunday - rest. Anyone else? Any suggestions on how to get out of this stupid funk?? Gilta
  13. Gary, That is wonderful news! I do have a suggestion for you. It is something I decided to do once I started on this journey. I am removing all sizes that I have that are now too big for me. I am giving these away to another bandster who is about 2 sizes behind me. I am doing this so I no longer will be able to go back and "find" a pair of pants that will fit if I gain again. I want it to be hard for me to do this. Congrats again! Gilta
  14. I had to laugh as I wrote that topic almost a year ago! I have since been banded and am down 43lbs so far. My insurance was a breeze luckily! Gilta
  15. Hi Barbie, I am sure you will get those 6 lbs off quickly. Motivation is a wonderful thing! I have started working out during the biggest loser and I find that I can go much longer on the elliptical when I am watching that. I do not want to go back to the size I was! I am doing well! I am not almost 2 months out and I have not needed a fill yet! They put 2cc's in my band during surgery and that seems to be enough for me right now. I am starting to think about a fill as I am able to eat a bit more than I was, but I am still losing on a regular basis. They will not fill you until you stop losing. I like that about them. They will keep me in check this way. I do my official WI on Friday am, but I peeked this am. I am down 43 since starting this journey and 32 since surgery! That is about 4lbs per week. Not bad! I am eating about 900-1000 calories a day and they are mainly protein. Occasionally I have a piece of chocolate or a glass of wine, but portion size is much smaller. I started as a size 20w and now am close to a regular 16! I am really happy that I did this! Best, Gilta
  16. Wonderful news! Before you know it you will only be overweight!
  17. Last week - 195 This week - 193 2 lb loss! My birthday was this week so I think that slowed down my loss this week. I cannot complain about 2 lbs though! I am working out 3 times a week and one of them is a group training session. I still only have the 2cc's in the band they put in during surgery. I don't think I am ready for a fill yet. I am hoping that I never do, but I know it is there if I need it! Gilta
  18. I am not there yet. I am finding my Snacks in between meals is holding me over nicely. I went for a fill last week and because I am losing 2 lbs+/week they won't fill me. I was told to call the office when I stop losing. I have 2 cc's in a 15cc band. Maybe they can get you in a bit earlier. Gilta
  19. Hi, I had a 15cc band put in and the MD put in 3 cc's during surgery. I went yesterday to see if I needed a fill, but I didn't! I am hungry after about 3-4 hours, but 1/2 cup fills me up nicely. My MD said that he has a few patients who never need a fill. He said if I keep on doing what I am doing (I am also losing 2 lbs/week) I won't need a fill. Good luck on your surgery. Gilta
  20. Wow - everyone is doing well. I have lost 3 lbs since last Friday. I did a class on Monday, worked out on Wednesday and I go for another class on Saturday. Gilta
  21. I am glad you got some answers. I would call your primary and ask them if you could have a prescription until you see him on Monday. THis way you don't have to suffer over the weekend. Good Luck Gilta
  22. Mely - I love the photo idea! Lana - I remember 1999 and hopefully I will be smaller than I was so I can party too! Laura - Maybe we will meet each other there. I am hoping to make it sometime in the spring next year, but it all depends on how fast I am losing. I could NEVER do what your daughter does. Good for her! Jessenia - I think we all need a vacation! Cutie - I avoided one of my HS reunions because I was so embarressed by my size. I like your idea. General - NC is beautiful. I hope someday to move there. Jason - I cannot do without the shirt in the US, but maybe on my trip to Europe. I am sure your son will love having you ride the go carts. We have a slider track here that I have not tried as I was worried if I would fit. Hopefully I can soon. Thanks everyone for your ideas! Gilta
  23. I have a 15 cc band and they put about 2cc at the time of the surgery. Thanks for the advice.
  24. Good luck on your surgery. One of my "goal" trips is a trip to Scotland. We have hosted a single malt scotch tasting at our home in the US (New York State) for 8 years now. It has always been my dream to visit your wonderful country. If you have any suggestions on where to go and what to see, please feel free to send me a private message. I hope the surgery goes well. Gilta
  25. I am trying to put together a list of what I want to do once I hit goal. I know I will only be able to do one of them so I thought I would ask so I can get ideas. Here are some that I have come up with: 1. Trip to Mall of America for shopping spree 2. Vacation (we normally go to the caribbean so maybe like Scotland or Italy) Any other ideas? Gilta
