I'm so sorry you are having this complication and that you feel this way. Buyers remorse is totallty normal and expected when you have gone through what you are now. No one ever knows if we will have complications or not, or how detrimental the complications may be. I'm hoping that in the next coming months, especially after the clot goes and you're able to handle food that you change your mind about your surgery. You aren't selfish to think about, love and care for yourself. If you don't take care of you, you wont be able to take care of anyone else, especially your son. Just know that at the end of all of this he will never blame you for fighting for a healthier you, for fighting to make sure you were there for him through everything and that the weight that hinders you now, wont in the future. I will pray long and hard for you tonight that God will give you the relief you so despirately need. With Love.

Back in 2010 when I had lost 85 pounds (with lap band) I was at 175. I went to Vegas with my best friends and I had a swimsuit from Lands End. It was a tankini top and a short skirt bottom. The top had rushing (how the heck do you spell that?) So it was very flattering. I LOVED how I felt in it!! Oh. The top had underwire in it too so it held up the saggy girls! I cannot wait until I can get into it again!! It was a regular size 16 I think.

Okay, going off of Beni's post. I will make my own about my NSV's and my scale victories.
scale victories: 10% of my body weight gone. (DONE 11/2/14)
    50 lbs gone
    Onederland
    75 lbs gone
    Goal weight of 130 lbs.
    Non-scale victories:
    Crossing my legs,
Wearing heels without feeling like I'm going to fall and die.
Wear cute boots and be able to wear my pants under them.
Be around a size 12 for my birthday (4/26)
    Vaniety size of an 8
couch to 5K run with my daughter( she's 8)
Going on my honeymoon and actually feel sexy (been married 3 years and have yet to go to our honeymoon). We are planning on going in June.
Wearing a cute swimming suit that fits.
Get out of plus size clothing stores.
And the biggest one of them all: to actually feel Beautiful.

Hi, big day for me today. Started at 270 lbs and my scale places me at 249lbs today, that's 21 pounds lost. But here's the real moral booster, I am 99lbs from my goal of 150lbs. I crossed the magical line of 100lbs above goal. So excited. Then I got thinking what other goals would be meaningful and here I would love your input for other ideas. This is what I came up with as goals with special meaning
    1. Less then 100 lbs from goal - done
    2. Weight below 200 lbs aka "oneland" with one hundred and something as weight
    3. Graduating out of Lane Bryant and onto regular sizes (no 14W, 16W, 18W, 20W... ever again)
    4. No more XL clothing
    5. No more wide shoes. (I am 9 - 9W but I will likely be 8 1/2 because the 9 is for the width)
    5. Being able to cross my legs
    6. Buying a bra at Victoria secret that has a 38 width on it
    7. Having a tummy narrower then hips. I guess, no longer an apple shape is my goal
    8. Being able to wear bracelets. My wrist is 1/4 inch too wide at this point.
    9. Fitting in my wedding band (never sized it because I "knew" I was going to lose the weight)
    10. Running a 5K race
    11. Ridding a horse/ bike again
    12. HUM, I would like to make my list 20 items. Any other ideas?

food was never my addiction. Work is my addiction. How do I know? I was answering emails right out of surgery. I just saw one of them. Hilarious what you think sounds right when you are hopped up on narcotics.
Today I worked from home. (Surgery was last Monday.) My boss insists I don't need to come in this week as we have a big conference to facilitate next week. So, I sat down at my computer at 8 after my morning walk and... forgot to get up until about 2. Then I was hungry. Really hungry. (At least when I'm in the office, someone drags me for a walk around the building every 60-90 minutes.)
So, I'm a week out and I've figured out a couple of things.
The awful "nausea" I had on Thursday and Friday was my new version of hungry. Empty pouch = nausea. The dietitian and nurse bumped up my food schedule so I can have pureed Soups and even saltines. That helped. It may have something to do with my usual activity level. I get between 7000 - 12000 steps a day (as long as I don't sit down at the computer before my walk. ) If I'm not paying attention, I'll still down 8 ounces of Fluid too fast... so I can get back to work. Little spoons (I bought a 50-pack of tasting spoons) are wonderful devices for slowing me down. I can get my Protein in very easily with just a little planning. Bariwise Fruit drinks are the bomb. Crystal Light does not make good ice pops. The mix freezes in the center and the rest is just ice. I hate sleeping on my back and can't wait until it doesn't hurt to sleep on my side again. Mostly, I have arthritis in my lower back and after a few hours the pain wakes me up...even if I take pain medication. I'm still really disappointed that he wasn't able to fix the hernias. I realized today no matter how much weight I lose, with "Oscar, Ernie and Bert" (I thought it was just "Oscar the Grouch" going in), I'm going to look like I'm expecting a baby until those get repaired. I'm trying to focus on the healthy living part so I can get to the point where those can be fixed.
    That's my update for now.
I'm praying for those having complications and struggles. Hang in there. We will all get there eventually.

Ok. I'm home! ! Labs are all ok my liver and kidneys are good. CT scan showed ALOT of swelling with that one incision and some free Fluid below that incision. But they aren't really worried about it. If my pain gets worse I need to let them know right away. I need to take tylenol more consistently. I won't take the prescription pain meds unless totally necessary. Like last night. But I hate taking it. I still feel the effects of it today.
But no infection, so that's good! I was worried they left some chunks of gauze in there or something! Lol! When I bend over or if I'm laying down and bend my knees up, it feels like something is in there. But it's just the swelling, whew!!
Beni- the itching after surgery has always happened with me after any surgery. I guess I thought that was normal!? I'll be sure to ask about that at my next appointment.
I was able to pull off all my step - strips finally today...except the one larger incision. I'd love for it to come off too so I can clean that area up better. But I'm not yanking it off too early.
    Thanks for everyone's thoughts today!!

So I did my 1st month stats. I'm down 25 lbs from highest weight, 17 lbs from surgery weight. I'm down 28 inches throughout my body and 2 dress sizes. I say that's a pretty good accomplishment so far.

went to the thrift store today, started trying on 18's, went down to 16's and then to 14's. Been 20 years since a size 14 jeans. I got 1pair of 16 that is a good fit now, and one 14, that will be good in a week or two. And 4 tops, all of which size L, no X's in front of it.

You are an inspiration. It is easy to move forward when things are going well. It is when you have a raw deal that it takes all our "gladiator" core to fight on. This is what it is and yes, you can make it forward. Perhaps your journey started a little harder but that does not determine your end baby. Work on it, seek the advice of your doctor and follow the protocol. If some issue arrises face it head on my friend. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU that I have tears running down my face.
Everyday you will be able to drink a little more. Your pouch will stretch and the swelling will go down. Baby steps!

I've decided to stop bemoaning my fate. It's not in my normal personality. I'm a fighter. So I am making myself drink and deal with with the two minute of unpleasant cramping. I'm taking my pain meds for my lower left connection. And I need to move more. I've been in the fetal position crying for weeks now. It's time to take control. And Push through. Starting with this one egg omelet with salmon and mozzarella. They put me on soft foods I need to move forward.
There's no magic time machine to tell me not to do it. Yea I have buyers remorse hopefully it'll go away as I get better. Right now it's going to be mind over body.

So sorry for our gladiators in so much pain!! My period is due tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it! Something else to deal with while I'm still trying to heal. Ugh...maybe it won't come. That'd be nice!
We went to Wisconsin this weekend to help move my Grandma into an assisted living place. I just hung out with Grandma while my sweet man and family did all of the work! Eating (drinking) was a struggle. I realized I didn't bring a bowl with to mix my broth/protein. So last night we stopped at culvers, I ordered chicken noodle Soup and asked for an extra empty bowl. I drained all the broth into the extra bowl and mixed my Protein in. That worked. Then this morning I realized I didn't save the bowl to my Breakfast. Duh. So I decided I would try a bite of egg a day early. (I have my 2 week check up tomorrow and my dr. Said to try a scrambled egg before I come) I chewed until there basically wasn't anything left to swallow, lol. I ate 3 tiny little bites and that was enough. Felt amazing to chew!! :-) so far it's sitting just fine. We have a 3 hour car ride home and I get car sick so I'd better get off here now. :-)

I can't remember but did you have the sleeve or RNY? You may want to update your profile when you have a chance. It's an easy reference for us as to your date and surgery type. It's super easy on the very top of the page on right side is your circle icon click on it and the settings options drop menu appears.
You don't get a full feeling, it's more of like a feeling of having something stuck in your pipe. Like when you swallowed a bite before surgery too quickly that required a little drink to wash it down. It's a mild feeling not a, get me glass of Water I have an apple chunk stuck in my esophagus kind of feeling. Your pouch is full of gas and it is swollen and even a sip will cause it to feel something. I sip, walk, burp, sit and repeat 5,000 times per day. It also takes 3 seconds from the time you drink something to the when you feel your pouch. You are in a state of perpetual awareness of your pouch at this stage. At least I am. It is like a newborn baby. I have to check on it all the time and keep it happy, burped, hydrated, warm and cozy. But we are getting along and learning about each other and I kind of love it already as I have lost 16 lbs since this all started. Time to update my ticker!

I am sorry you are having so much pain. I do find getting up from bed a bit challenging specially from a horizontal position. I wish I had better arm muscles and had come up with a bar or system to get out of bed.
Please check your temp once in a while just to be sure no infection is coming on
