It doesn't seem right, It doesn't seem fair.
All that I eat is liquids and air.
The first two weeks I lost without fail
But the past 3 days not a movement from my scale.
I heard from others this is the game
Stay the course and we won't feel the same.
shake off the dread, shake off the fear.
Fairly soon we will have a smaller rear!

Look at Premier Protein bars, the drinks are approved so maybe the bars are as well. I am eating almost the same stuff you are on my pre surgery diet so after there should be no surprises. I am even practicing chewing. The hardest thing for me right now is sipping Water. I am a "gulp 8 oz in one swallow" person, and find when I sip I forget to drink and don't get my 64 oz in.
i really appreciate having you to talk to it is first hand experience from my doctors office. It makes it more real.
By the way, don't you hate men that can loose weight just by thinking about it. I like tilapia for a fish. I put about a
tbsp of mayo on the fillet, sprinkle with a bit of parmesan cheese and bake. I find that delicious.
    Take care.

I have had Constipation problems since starting my pre-surgery diet I was going to ask Doc if adding some metamucil to Water would be helpful. I don't want to deal with that and everything else. Are you back to any form of solid foods yet, I am glad I had my knee replaced prior to this so I can walk. But my true exercise is swimming and my rotator cuff needs work. Try Water walking if you can. It really was helpful for me when my knees were messed up.
Keep up the good work, do what you can. I want changes, like no more raw anywhere

I never was all that "normal."

I am doing well. I am a bit tired. I find it hard to get all my Protein and liquids in.
Have lost about 33 pounds, depending on how constipated I am on any given day.

I can tell you that getting up out of a chair is a lot easier than it used to be.
I have an arthritic knee which limits how much I can exercise. I know if I exercised more, I would lose more. But, I do what I can and I am walking more.
Sleeve gastrectomy is something that changes a lot about one's life. Expect changes. Things will never get back to "normal."
I did not like my "normal."

I am 67 and had my sleeve surgery on Sept. 10th. I am down 30 pounds so far. Even just losing that amount has made a great difference. My bad knee feels better. I went on a half-mile Nature walk at a local park. Just enough excercise for now. I hope to get better.
I had no gas pains after the operation. I find it somewhat difficult to get in all my Protein and Water, but I am determined to follow instructions.
Prior to surgery, I had to take many tests. Cardio. Pulmonary. X-Rays. Scans. It is great to know I am now in pretty good shape. The tests I took now form a baseline for tests I have in the future. Medicare covered all tests and also the operation, since I have three co-morbidities: High Blood Pressure,High cholesterol, Severe sleep Apnea. I love my CPAP machine. Brain cells die when they do not get enough oxygen. I hope losing weight will improve all of my co-morbidities. So far, so good. My blood pressure appears to be lower already.
Medicare has only been covering gastric operations for weight control since January 2013. I guess they figure by taking the weight off, it might forstall the need for knee and hip replacements and therapy, and maybe even heart attacks and strokes. Good call. My advice to all people over 65 on Medicare who are thinking of a sleeve gastrectomy to help with their co-morbidities is to look into bariatric procedures while they are still covered by Medicare.

I will NOT miss feeling awkward in social situations because I'm the biggest person there.
I will NOT miss not being able to shop with my friends because they don't sell plus sized clothes in the stores they like.
I will NOT miss worrying about when the inevitable diabetes will kick in.
I will NOT miss the dread I always have before I have to get on a scale at the doctor's office.
I will NOT miss wearing bigger clothes than and weighing 100 pounds more than my husband.
I will NOT miss feeling like I'm being judged while eating because I'm fat.
I could go on and on...

    I am also overwhelmed.
Funny the water in 30 seconds hit home. I was having Breakfast this morning and realized that I was drinking a cup of coffee and an16 oz glass of water every 10 minutes. The waitress automatically filled them both up everytime she walked by. My though, this is normal for me, how am I ever going to adjust. My eating is improving breakfast was a ham omlet and sliced Tomato and I ate it slowly and chewed conciously. But it was a struggle. So I am with you, but you came to this decision I am sure not without much reflection and you know that it is what you want and need to do, so I say MARS, bring it on. Think of your new stomach as the spacesuit you need to wear to live on Mars and know that without the suit there is no quality of life. You can do it I have faith in you.
