AlanaRN got a reaction from sunflowerchild in Friend's Reaction
So one of my good friends came over today. I haven't seen her in about 5 or 6 weeks because we have both been busy. Well, when I opened the door she was shocked!!!!! She started crying. I'm 12 weeks out and have lost 60 lbs. She said she was so happy for me and proud of me. She just could not get over the difference. This has finally made me see just what a change this is. I could see the scale and the clothes size moving down but the reaction from other people really makes it more real to me. Just wanted to share. I look forward to continuing to trend downwards but I'm feeling pretty good right now!

AlanaRN got a reaction from BLERDgirl in Intake "normal" for 4 weeks?
My NUT says not to worry about counting carbs. She said as long as I'm eating according to plan and getting my Protein in that's all that matters. The only carbs I get are from Beans, small amount of veggies, or the occasional serving of fruit. My average is 30-40 per day but I don't really pay much attention to it.

AlanaRN got a reaction from Justoperated in When did you resume driving, exercising?
I started walking around the block a few days after surgery. At first, I could barely make it around but I did it every day and increased the times around. I drug myself to the car about 5 days post op because I had to get my kids something to eat and my husband was at work. I didn't start working out per Se until 6 weeks but I walked daily before that.

who would have thought??
3 years ago, a scared little (big) rabbit had WLS
i was scared about the unknown - what to expect in my future
i crept down 105 lbs/GOAL in one year
past two years fluctuating/maintaining 3-5 lbs
at times i have weighed a "little" more
honesty, confession is good for the sole
i'm not perfect, welllll actually
i do graze sometimes
or eat more than i should during the day
i don't enjoy not drinking while eating
i don't always get my 64 oz of Water
i don't exercise
but............
i don't weigh 235 lbs anymore
many wonderful things have been going on in my new life
my health is wonderful
this "sexy at 60" looks pretty HOT!!
we built a beautiful new house last year but.............
I don't hide in the house anymore
i find reasons to leave the house
drive here there and everywhere
love running errands
of course clothes shopping toooooo!!!
I do volunteer work
(I would never have put myself "out" amongst people pre WLS)
my confidence, happiness have gone through the roof
many other things i can't think of
(my memory hasn't improved )
with the "assistance" of the sleeve - my new world is amazing
that is my story and i'm stick' to it!!!
my wishes/thought/hopes
that everyone in the "world"/especially my fellow sleevers
be as happy as i am today - for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer, life
kathy
congrats to me

AlanaRN reacted to texashoosier in I can't believe it!
I was sleeved on 9/4/14 and when I weighed myself tonight at the gym I found that I have lost 93 pounds. I was hoping to lose 100 pounds by my 5th month and now I have a chance to hit that mark before the 4th month. It has taken a lot of hard work, but I am proud of the decision I made. It has been years since I felt this well.

AlanaRN reacted to Bobby46 in Guess what!
I needed new jeans....So I went to Macy's women's plus size section to get size 18W.....down from my baggy 20W's. Well they didn't have any that I liked. So I went over to the "regular" women's and misses section across the store.....haven't been there in years! I walked out with a size 18! not a 18W. I am a "regular" woman now! They may be 18's but not having that W on the tag just about made me do cart wheels out the door!

AlanaRN got a reaction from *Lexie* in September Sleevers
I was sleeved 9/30 and I'm 55 lbs down! Doing great! Never get sick but I follow my instructions to the t and measure everything I eat.

AlanaRN got a reaction from Banan in September sleevers
Yes! I was sleeved 9/30. I tend to stall then lose a bunch then stall again. It's very frustrating. I'm almost 10 weeks out and the scale hasn't moved in about 5-6 days. It sucks! However, I'm down 51 lbs so I'm happy about that!

So, i am still trying to wear my jeans that are a size 26 - I need to get a belt if I continue to do this.
A friend gave me a box of her "fat clothes" from after her surgery so I would not have to purchse much.
She was smaller that me to begin with, so most of the pants and jeans she sent were a size 16. However, there was one size 18.
I thought I would give it a shot, and what do my wondering eyes should appear - they fit - they are tight, but I can breathe in them!
Wow!!! so excited!!!

AlanaRN reacted to AvaFern in Does anyone else get as much joy as I do when I update my ticker?
I do! Haha, I lost a pound this morning and one of the first things I did was update my weight on MyFitnessPal and then update my ticker here. 4 pounds to go until goal!
