Is anyone else experiencing hair loss? Im now at 4.5 months out, and this is suddenly becoming a problem. I have (had) thick long hair, and now its very thin.
Im also having a big plateau right now - no weight loss for close to a month. Im looking forward to getting outside more as the weather improves.

Yes! I am having lots and lots of hair loss! I too had thick, long hair and now you can almost see my scalp. I think it has slowed a little...or maybe it nust seems so because I dont have much more to loose! I have been using products to get the volume...hoping to camouflage the Hair loss. I remember being told this could happen, but at the time, didnt consider how I would feelaboit it. On an up note, I'm down 80+ pounds! Bought a size 10 pair of jeans last weekend. I feel great, but havent lost anything the past couple weeks. I have started working out more...with weights...so I hope I am building muscle.

@lovelyme...I just now started to lose some hair. It's normal in this whole process to do so, but just depends on how much you are losing to be concerned about it. I'm guessing. My loss isn't bad, but I just make sure to take 10000 mcg of Biotin and get my Protein in. I have a ton of hair, so I'm not too concerned with some hair on my hands, now if it came out in clumps I would be worried. Check with your Dr or dermatologist for other options if it's bad.

It's been a while since I last posted. I had a 5mo post op drs visit yesterday and all went well. I currently weigh 262.8 lbs, and I haven't been this weight probably since early 2000s, and I have more to go. Crazy, but good.

Had a NSV moment with this past weekend's snowstorm. Put on my snow pants that I couldn't even snap up last year and they were too big. Yeah!????

My surgery was New Years Eve. I lost 19 pounds in the first two weeks and nothing since but my clothes fit better. I will enjoy catching up on your new posts as well. And if you don't mind I will live vicariously through you and Amsterdam. Travel has always been on my bucket list but my back will not allow it. So share away!

Be careful with snacky foods like Dove squares and such. I only keep nutritious Snacks in the car like nuts or Protein bars. I don't want to make it easy to snack on them when I shouldn't.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does stuff like that! I laugh at myself sometimes and wonder if it really helps to park in the farthest row, but then I step on the scale and realize that yes, it does!

@@konalisa80 - Consistency is indeed key. I log my food for the day first thing in the morning. It helps me set boundaries with my eating. In addition to packing my gym bag the night before I do little things like taking the stair when I can and parking further away from the entrance in parking lots. Those extra few steps add up.

I have been logging my food, but I haven't been as consistent as I need to be. I am going to look back at the sparks people app. I use to go to the website a lot back in the day, and I am gonna see if I can get some food ideas there. I haven't had any chocolate, and I think I should put some dark chocolate dove squares in the car. I know once I get back into my workouts, I will see my of a chance in my body and that will inspire me to go harder. Let's continue to encourage one another.

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to me. I plan to maintain my workouts. More so to make sure that I am consistent. I think that is one of the main reasons I am on this see-saw. I am trying to work on being consistent with logging my food on my fitness pal. And I will do better to focus on my NSV. Thanks so much.

@@aloudwhisper - Keeping a food diary helped me with snacking. For some of us it's necessary so instead of fighting it and falling off the wagon, plan for it. I prefer to log my food for the day. It gives me a rough idea of what I will be eating for the day and lets me see where I have wiggle room. I like a bit of chocolate every so often, so I try to plan for it on my most active days. I feel better having a cookie *(btw have you tried some of the Protein Cookies on the market - YUM!) on a day when I know I'm going to be more active and burning more calories. I find when I do this I may not need a snack every day, but it's comforting to know if I need it I can have one guilt free.
Oddly enough it also serves to encourage me to exercise more. For example, on a non gym day I may plan a 20 min walk to the bodega and once there I buy 1 reese's Peanut Butter cup mini.
*Keep in mind they are good but also high in calories. Most run between 150 -210 calories. I keep a few in the car to use as Meal Replacements for crazy running around days.

The exercising really helped me bust through those frustrating times. Also writing down or sharing my non-scale moments. We aren't going to be perfect just because we had surgery...constantly gotta remind myself

I had surgery Sept. 10, 2014, and at my 3 month weigh in I am down 50 pounds. It was a vary welcome surprise, as I don't own a scale. I was still feeling so tired and when I spoke with my doctors about it, they suggested to have blood work done again. Found out that I was low on Iron. After adding a Iron supplement, I'm feeling better, less tired. I do feel that taking your Vitamins, B's, and other supplements is very important, you can really feel tired and sluggish if you miss one day of them.

Hey everyone! I haven't checked in in a while. I have been struggling, snacking too much and not seeing a lot if real movement on the scale other than gain 3 loose 2. I have been swinging with the name numbers for 3 weeks. Since today is the beginning of a new month, I have to do things differently. So my goal is to focus more exercise and counting my Protein. Oh and being sure to meet my Water intake goal. I pray this month is better than the last. I have also had a whole lot of stress that doesn't help me to stay on track. Life is never promised to be easy, but I wish things would be smoother than they are......
