  1. As a la leche volunteer you should be encouraging people! I'm saying this AS IM NURSING my 22.5 month old. I am 13 months post op and my son has always had amazing check ups with his pediatrician and our lactation consultant. If you have to supplement, you supplement. But don't give up for no reason.
  2. Just to follow up. I had my surgery on 12/2. Since then I've gone from 200lbs to 122lbs in 7 months. I was not on a blood thinner after surgery and I am STILL nursing my now 16 month old son. I did not need to supplement at all after my surgery and he is healthy as can be. So it IS possible!
  3. Haha I've been so busy and joined a vsg group on Facebook and made a new Instagram account strictly for vsg. I totally forgot I had this app for a few weeks lol
  4. I am officially sleeved!!! I can't believe I actually went through with it! AND... I feel really good despite some gas pains. This has been such an awesome day. I'm so happy I have the tool that's going to change my life now.
  5. Couldn't agree more. Hence why I don't post here as much anymore. The one time I said I was torn about my surgery date because my liquid diet fell on thanksgiving, I got my butt chewed apart. No one is perfect, people need to stop acting as such. Oh and btw, I cheated on my liquid diet one night and I didn't die and the world didn't end!
  6. I'm in the same boat! But my surgery is on the 2nd. I'm waiting and making due with wearing my husbands fleece coats and sweatshirts for now. I might check out the thrift shop though.
  7. I had no clue about the private rooms! Good to know! I was going to go to the doctors at Mather but I had a consult with my surgeon first (dr Mehta) and fell in love with her. She's seriously the nicest woman ever and all her patients in the support group spoke so highly of her. Plus her office staff was a lot more welcoming. The nutritionist, for instance, if you email her a stupid question at 8 pm on a Saturday she still gets back to you right away. It's great.
  8. We're kinda close! I'm in port jeff but I'm having my surgery at peconic bay in riverhead.
  9. There was also some choice words and middle fingers exchanged too. Hahaha
  10. You'll have to zoom in to see it. But this is starting from the Tuesday before surgery to the day before. The day before I can have clear fluids only, WITH sugar. And as much drinks as I want.
  11. I had to go through this already. Surprisingly my brother was the only one who said anything. His exact words were "why don't you just work out?".... To which I replied "why don't you!?!? Instead of sticking a needle in your ass!?!?" (He does steroids) I said it right in front of my entire family. Blew up his spot because all day everyone was complimenting him on how good he looked and he was going on and on about how he goes to the gym all the time. Now my entire family knows his dirty little secret and will think twice before judging me for getting healthy the HEALTHY way.
  12. My surgery is scheduled for 12/2. My surgeons office gave me a very specific liquid diet to follow for one week. If anyone is interested I can post a copy. It included fat free no sugar added pudding, soups, yogurts, meal replacements, etc.
  13. I can't get Into the group. Can you add me? My Facebook email is cryssyd3@gmail.com. Crystal jones is my user name. Thanks!
  14. Wooohoooo. Congrats!!!!
  15. Yes definitely!
  16. Woohoo. Congrats! I'm 12/2! Thanksgiving is gonna be tough but we got this!!!!
  17. Ugh. I feel for you. Let me know when you hear something!! Good luck.
  18. Don't you just love being volutold!? (Sarcasm lol) and I especially love how everything is mandatory. Like family day and the Christmas party is mandatory to attend (for my husband atleast). And then you can't leave until a certain time. Makes me not want to go haha
  19. I was so excited when my insurance company called me with the approval that I hung up and called my surgeon, made them aware I was approved and they called me back a few minutes later with the surgery date. I probably would've had to wait for a date too had I not called.
  20. Exactly! Such a waste of money. The dress I wore to the wedding I'm going to wear to the Christmas party also. Luckily it was on clearance. But still, money down the drain. I'm going to try to take it in after I lose weight because it is definitely a cute dress.
  21. Exactly. My husband is in the army and has volunteered me to help with all the holiday party things. I'm in no mood. And I'm especially in no mood to get dressed up for the party. The holiday party is the weekend after my surgery so I'm either going to be in too much pain to go or too high on painkillers to care lol.
