  1. I totally should've worded this differently....Lol It's not about thanksgiving dinner. It's really not. Seriously, it's my least favorite holiday as far as food goes. It's more because something about being in the hospital or home after surgery in pain on a holiday is kinda depressing. And yes, it's for an amazing reason. I know that. I'm just thinking more about my family rearranging plans than I am about me which I need to obviously not be concerned with.
  2. Thank you! My in laws are having it at their house this year so if I stay home I'll be ok!
  3. Turkey's gross. Dry, tasteless, bleh. I'm gonna do it... I'm just being a chicken sh*t Hahahaha
  4. You're 100% right! Now that I think about it.... I've been sick soooooo many times and missed the holiday lol.
  5. I'm thinking of it more as a "do I want to be miserable and in pain on a holiday" than "oh man, no pumpkin pie!" I have 4 kids, so I don't get to sit down and eat on a holiday lol.
  6. As I right now my surgeons office has me penciled in for surgery November 25th, two days before thanksgiving (so long as I don't get a denial in the meantime). If I was in the hospital for two days i would come home on thanksgiving. Ideally I would've not liked to do the surgery that week. But if I wait it has to be the following week or AFTER the new year. Obviously I want the surgery over and done with, so waiting until after New Years is not happening. But do I really want to torture myself being on a liquid diet on thanksgiving?? What would you do!?!? Help!!
  7. I'm also freaking out about this. I have an 8 month old who is breastfed and loves to be worn in a ring sling. I'm not so much concerned about when I'm home because as it is I usually nap on the couch with him and we don't have a changing table, I usually just change him wherever around the house. I'm nervous about being in the hospital for 2 days and how the heck my husband is going to get him to sleep. We bed share now and he usually nurses himself to sleep. The hospital I'm having my surgery at does make special exceptions for nursing mothers to have their spouse an child stay with them when they are admitted, but we have three other Children at home who need daddy also.
  8. That's hysterical! Congrats. Funny I was just thinking about how im gonna have to get my wedding rings resized once I start shrinking.
  9. Good luck!!! Saying all the prayers for you!
  10. I will! Everything gets submitted tomorrow and the insurance company said they'll make a decision within 72 hours!
  11. I'm 4'11" or 5' depending on the day. I'm still waiting on a date though. I'll find out hopefully this week!!
  12. So what happens when you get a denial? I don't see any reason for me to get one, but I almost feel like everything has gone too smoothly up until this point so I want to prepare myself just In case. My surgeons office is submitting everything Monday and I'm kinda freaking out.
  13. OMG it was so nerve racking! And I barely had to ask him! I mentioned it to the nurse and she came back in and was like "ok, he'll be in in a minute and after the exam he'll write up the letter with you." I must've said 'thank you' a thousand times, I literally almost cried hahaha
  14. Ive lucked out so far. I've only started this whole process less than a month ago. I got all my appointments done super quick, didn't need to wait 6 months like with some insurances (thank god) and now Monday I have my last nutritionist appointment. My goal was to have everything complete by November 1st when my new insurance starts and so far so good! So exciting! I can't believe I'm actually doing this.
  15. He gave it to me!!!!! Took 2 hours of sitting in the office but I got it!! Yay!!!!! Thank you for calming my nerves
  16. So I'm about to go to an appt with a PCP. This is a new pcp to me, I haven't needed to see a doctor in god knows how long and all my comorbities I found out about from my surgeons testing. I'm realllllyyyy nervous about asking for a letter of recommendation from this new guy. What do I even say? I plan on bringing a copy of my bloodwork I just had done and the stuff from the cardiologist and lung doctor. This is literally the last appt and thing I need to do before I can submit anything to insurance and I'm FREAKING OUT!! Help!! Advice! A hug? Lol
  17. Walmart sells the molds to make your own! Just use sugar free crystal light (I think that's ok to use) or maybe your protein drink, pour it into the mold, freeze and VOILA! (I do this for my 7month old who's teething lol)
  18. I just found out I have one when I did my barium swallow last week. I had no clue and thought the symptoms I was having from it were normal lol. But I'll be having it fixed when I have my surgery
  19. I am also still breastfeeding my 7 1/2 month old and plan to after surgery. I'm more worried about HOW I will manage holding him right out of surgery. IF my supply does drop I plan on using an SNS to supplement but to still nurse him (google lact-aid supplemental nursing system) I used an SNS when my son was a newborn still because he had weight issues so I'm familiar with it. I think it's something you should look into if you Aren't ready to stop nursing yet.
  20. I'm on Instagram also! Crystal__jones
  21. Thanks everyone! I'm so super nervous about the pre op diet. I think more nervous than the actual surgery, lol. I go see the nutritionist tomorrow so hopefully I get the details of the diet then.
  22. I see this is an old post but I live on Long Island. I had tricare and just switched to fidelis/ Medicaid and there is no wait time.
