juls0102 reacted to pinkbunies in I broke my short lived stall
I really wanted to avoid my stall, so I started upping my calories and low and behold I lost another 9 lbs.
I started eating soft frozen custard each night. Just a couple of scoops. I feared I'd gain weight. I went to the Dr. and weighed and nope 9 more lbs gone.
I've tried hard to consume 1200 calories a day and boy its a challenge.
I'm down to a size 33 now and my shirts fit, no more man boobs.
I went to a different bank branch than usual and they know me but I haven't been in there in over 2 months. They didn't recognize me. They asked for my ID and I thought they were joking. Then the manager comes running out there and stops them and apologizes to me and then tells me how good I look. This made me feel great and I asked why they didn't recognize me... one of the tellers said you look...umm... then I chimed in and said...thinner? I wasn't offended.
If this keeps up I'll be at my goal of 200 lbs by around January to February.
I've taken control of life for once and it was the best thing I've ever done. I finally see what it feels like to be thinner, to not run out of breath, to have an unstoppable sex drive, to be attractive again and have people staring me up and down... and while its conceited I know what they want and what they are wondering LOL.

juls0102 got a reaction from Kindle in Telling about surgery
I have been very open about having the surgery. I'm only 5 weeks out, so there's not a HUGE difference yet, but I'm a teacher and everyone knows at my school. I told my students I had "stomach surgery" and left it at that.
My surgeon told my mom that people who have a diseased appendix, have it removed, people who have a diseased gall bladder have it removed, some people have stomachs that don't work properly or are "diseased" and they need help to get to a healthy weight. That really stuck with me. I have 2 boys that I need to keep up with and I want to be healthy for them. I have tried every diet, hypnotherapy, counseling, and acupuncture. I feel like I made a great decision to get my life back. =) When something good happens to me, I want to use that to help other people. =)

juls0102 reacted to KeeWee in Ok so I'm starting to notice I have a huge crush...
Yes, ON MY SCALE! I started to notice that I give my scale foreplay when I walk in the bathroom, my husband always says "are u really?!?!?!?" But yes, I begin to say things like, I know you're goin to love me today, please be nothing but good to me, show me nothing but love, go ahead, give it to me, I can take it, then I close my eyes and get on and OMG, let it be .5 less and I have all the sweetest accolades and pet names in the world.
So yes, after a 3 week stall, I literally picked it up and kissed it this morning, 4lbs down after I thought I pigged out a bit this weekend. I say pigged out, really means since I ate a whole half a chicken sandwich WITH cheese...SHHHH, I felt bloated all day...smh. But lo and behold, it was still Protein and it was still in my benefit, so the scale continued on it's downward spiral!!!!
WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!! P.S. That also means, "THIS CHICK" is less than 200lbs for the first time in 17 Years!!!!! GOOO meee, GOOOO uuuuuuuu!!!!!!! Weeeeee doin it together!!!!

This time last year I was just considering bariatric surgery! I made an appt to see the surgeon and I was crazy mad that I couldn't get an appointment until January 22nd!
I don't think I ever thought that I would ever see under 200lbs ever again!
Yesterday I saw people I hadn't seen all year and the compliments were flying all over the place.
I will try and get some before and now photos, I can't say after because that will not be yet
For those of you in doubt! Go for it!

juls0102 reacted to S(he) be(lie)ve(d) in Scar cream anyone?
I get a prescription cream from my dermatologist, since I get horrible scars that need a little help to fade away. My body produces excess collogen when it heals. Not fun. For me, it's cheaper to get a prescription, than it is to buy over the counter. When I've tried Mederma, it actually irritated my scars. I asked my hubby if scars bothered him at all. He said, "I dig chicks with scars." Love him! <3

juls0102 reacted to joatsaint in 3 weeks post- op. No weight loss in 6 days?
Your stall is completely normal. It's just your body adjusting to the weight loss and reduced calories. I found that if I kept to my diet and calorie limits, the weight would start dropping again. I've gone through several stalls during the 1st year and each time I was worried if it was the end of my weight loss. But it wasn't, it was just a temporary "time-out" while my body adjusted to it's new way of living.

My surgeon's office submitted my paperwork on Wednesday (2 months early) to see if I could get approved. I have completed all my pre-op requirements for insurance, except I am supposed to have 6 months of supervised diet visits with the doctor, and I only have 4.
My surgeon's office just called me and said I GOT APPROVED!!!!
Now I want to jump up and down and scream H A L L E L U J A H!!! I already had a tentative date for December 16th, but they are going to call me on Monday to confirm a solid date, and maybe even be able to get me in for surgery sooner!
OMG!!!! It's really going to happen!!!!!!

So this morning is my 2 week surgiversary, and from beginning of two week pre op diet to today, I'm down 27 lbs total. (I had lost 10 pounds pre op and gained it all back in fluids during my hospital stay..took me 6 days to get that back off so dang it, I'm countin that in my weight loss!) Anyway, I was just in my kitchen making my 20 year old son sandwiches for his lunch and my cat jumped on the counter, as I shoved him off, my wedding rings went flying across the room in different directions, right off my finger! lol! I had just gotten them resized in June to fit my fat fingers! Guess I'll be putting them up for a bit till I get closer to goal! Then I'll get them sized for the new slimmer me!! Woohoo!

I was sleeved on Oct. 7. I'm sooooo sick of pureed foods. I'd rather not eat. Protein Shakes make me gag. I'm living on scrambled eggs, tuna salad, chicken salad, and chili. I'm so ready to be able to actually chew my food. =) I do feel great though. I'm glad you're doing so well. I can do this!!! I haven't tried bread yet....I'm going to hold out as long as possible. I really want a steak. lol

Have you taken your Vitamins and B12? I can't stand the Protein Shakes either and I am having trouble getting in 30 grams of Protein. I'm just making sure I'm hydrated. I'm on the pureed phase now, but it's not much better. They have dissolvable B12 and I think that really helps me. I hope it gets better soon.

I was sleeved on Oct. 7, 2014. The first 2 days were miserable due to nausea. Everyday is better than the previous. I'm having a hard time getting my Protein shakes down. They make me gag. I'm doing well with Water and iced tea. I can't stand anything "sugar free", so I'm sticking mostly to broths and cream Soups. I'm ready for soft foods. I have a horrible taste in my mouth. I haven't weighed yet. I go for my first post op visit on Thursday. I am focusing on a life style change and not what the scale says. I've decided I will weigh once a month. I did have a couple bites of my son's scrambled eggs yesterday and thought I was in heaven. =)

I was sleeved Oct. 7th also. I can't stand the Protein shakes. I've tried several kinds also. I'm trying so hard to get in my 30grams a day. I'd rather drink Water. I guess because we've been stuck on liquids, puree sounds fabulous!!! I can't wait to have a scrambled egg with cheese or an avocado. lol I hate this nasty taste in my mouth!!! Hopefully, I can go to puree next week after I see my dr.
