Hey Tammy, I went into surgery at 9:30 this morning. Everything went so well. I remember going into the operating room but I was only awake for a few minutes. I had to have a hitial hernia repair as well.
When I woke up from surgery the gas pain in my chest was at a level of 5 or 6. I was given pain medication, when i got to my room from recovery I was ready to walk . I put my pajamas on and I walked and I'm no longer experiencing gas pains and that's so awesome. I've been increasing my walking time a little at a time. I'm up to 5 laps on my hospital floor.
As far as resting, I've been resting pretty well. Nurses are constantly in but their awesome. I hope you are doing well. awesome! I have my chest x-ray and leak test in the morning. After that I'll start my clear liquid diet. I don't feel hungry .

Tomorrow is your day, congratulations! Wow time has gone by so fast. I completely understand and agree with work. I have to tie up my work load by Sunday. I'm only planning to remain home for 1 wk. I'm a social worker, I don't have any lifting to do. It's more mentally draining and so I am worried I may need more time. My supervisor has informed me to come back when I'm ready, but I don't won't my caseloads to get to out of hand.
I want to get back moving as soon as possible too. But enough about me, how are you feeling? What time are you heading to the hospital? I hope I'm able to chat with you before you go in but if not I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery. You will do well! I will be checking on you.

Hi, I hope your surgery date is finalized soon. I'm also scheduled for October 7th. I'm just really excited at this point. With 7 days remaining I don't know what to do with myself lol . I'm double checking my hospital bag, Vitamins, shakes, and all post-op needs almost daily. My husband thinks I'm going crazy because I'm not nervous at all. I'm ready to go!
I'm planning to start a thread for October 7th sleevers because there are quite a few of us and I definitely want us to stay in touch.

No you are not alone. Like you I'm very excited and happy to start this new journey, but reality is also settling in that my life will no longer be as it was. I'm very happy about that. From living a more healthier lifestyle, relationships, sigifacant weight loss, and the mental portion of this, we have a lot to adapt to. I'm in the hospital, I'll be discharges in the morning. I've had to refuse some visitation and ignore calls because I'm not ready to answer questions and be ridiculed for my decision.

Hey everyone, so I had my leak test a couple hours ago. I thought the chalky substance was going to be awful but it wasn't that bad. It reminded me of Miralax. So I should proceed with my liquid diet this afternoon. I feel great and ready to head home. I won't be leaving the hospital until tomorrow morning.

Hey everyone, I'm excited it's my day!!! I'm at the hospital waiting to get prepared for surgery, wow can't believe my day has arrived. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Can't wait to update everyone.

Thank you, this support group has been very beneficial to me as well. It's awesome to share my experience with everyone. I've heard very great things about Dr. Alvarez. In fact if my insurance wouldn't had covered my surgery I would have went to Dr. Alvarez. I truly wish you the best, your day is almost here. I'm getting prepared for my swallow test .

I went for my last md visit before surgery on the 20th, signed all my consent forms. Met with anesthesia. And I and got a call from the office, they submitted my request to BCBSNC yesterday and i got approval today. /happy dance with me y'all
It's really gonna happen.

I'm home now. Very sore, but getting thru it. Surgery went well. I have lost 9.5 lbs already, but that is to be expected. Good luck everyone.

Tuesday night I came thru with flying colors. I have been sitting up in a chair all day long. Drank over 64 oz of Water. Walked every hour. Feeling good. Good luck to all. Will try to at h up tomorrow. Can't focus very well.

had mine on the 6th along with gall bladder.feeling better then I thought.morhine made me nausaus but they tried all the meds for it and nurse gave me a suppository and that is what helped!came home yesterday after I was able to hold down chicken brith for Breakfast 2 teaspoons,and had to small forks of tuna for lunch.after 2 weeks of liquids before surgery im on purees already.not trying anything else until I can get Water and proptien drinks down!
