It just depends on who the carrier you use. Here is nevada they have a hand full of different companies and plans you can go with. I research what each plan covered and chose one that covers it. Some did not.

Just got my date, Dec 10th!
Aside from waiting 2 more months, I think December is an awesome month to have it done. What a way to start the new year!
My date is also 3 weeks after my 45th birthday, so it will be a great birthday present to myself also. Perhaps I will go in and pay the hospital/surgeon fees on my birthday to make it my official present.

My family is tripping out on me because I'm going to do this. My sister is sending me the horror links to read I just want to be excited and not pooping my pants with fear lol

Totally agree for the first time I am really looking forward to the new year.. plus I have a bday on Jan :-D 36 should be a great yr!!

Time Flys so fast. I can't even figure out where this year has gone already. I walked in the store and saw Christmas stuff! I dont have a date date yet but I'm somewhere in Dec (ins requires 3 months) I know it sucks but it will be here before we both know it

I'm just starting my journey and I can completely relate. I do nothing but research all day long (ie.. how I came across all of you wonderful people) I go back and forth all day in my mind. My family is anything but supportive mostly just fear of complications. But i do agree that we have to make the choice for ourselves. don't let anyone push you to do it if you aren't ready.. but don't let fear stop you. Remember (as I remind myself) anything worth having (a better life, feeling healthy, feeling better about ourselves) is never easy, but always worth it when you reach the end.

Lol there isn't a blog, thread, article I have read.... twice lol. Set my nut appointment today.. Oct 24th the first open appointment I was so annoyed lol. Parts of me just wants to get it over with and other parts are on the fence. But no matter what I do my mind is stuck on thoughts, daydreams, fears and everything in between. All I can think about is the sleeve. Great to know I'm not crazy! What a relief! ! Lol

I just had a revision to the sleeve in mid-August. I had my Lapband removed due to issues and knew I couldn't remove it without gaining weight again. It was much more involved than my out-patient Lapband surgery. I had my surgery around 12:00 noon, and I don't think I really woke up enough to even get up to go to the bathroom until 9:30 that night. I did not have a catheter or a drain. I had 5 incisions. My mouth was so dry I couldn't talk well. I did stay overnight. I had an IV and I did remember to ask for an abdominal binder to help when I tried to get up out of the bed. I used it for a while even when I got home. I actually tightened it too much and ended up with dots on my stomach for a bit, I guess from the elastic. It was quite an experience, but I am glad I did it. I haven't had reflux since then. I have been slow to lose weight, but I had already lost 100+pounds with my Lapband. I started with an app, logging everything I ate to help me keep track of Protein and I think it actually helped me eat too much. I have scrapped it as of yesterday. We will see what happens.
