  1. Mine decision to lose weight started after 2 events....FIRST my great grandad (who had dementia and I had not seen in a few yrs) said to me...Kanina I didnt even recognize you you've gotten so fat!! Second was when I got my wedding pictures back...I was MORTIFIED!!!!! I had the surgery the following January!!! BEST DECISION EVER!!! Now ppl say Kanina I didnt even recognize you you've gotten so skinny LOL
  2. ppl that say that suck and really need to learn how to be supportive of others.... say just bc theyve tried tons of diets and gained the weight back doesnt mean that you are going to bc the lapband is NOT a diet...it is a weight loss tool! So tell em to quit hatin!!!!
  3. I hate hate hate Protein shakes but I have an awesome recipe that is awesome for a smoothie: chocolate Peanute Butter shake: 1/2 cup fat free milk 1 cup of ice 1 scoop of vanilla protein mix 1 pack sugar free/diet or low calorie swiss miss chocolate 1 tbsp Peanut Butter (i use a little extra) 3 packs of splenda Blend well!!! Its awesome so enjoy!!!
  4. Well it looks as though my internal "dissolvable" stitches are not dissovling.....I got back to the PS thursday. The insicion is look GREAT but I have a stich that has worked its way to the surface....not too sure what he is going to do about that.
  5. I just had my first ps and plan to have more! I worked hard to lose this weight now I wanna own it!!!! If it takes a little nip and a little tuck here and there then so be it I have earned it!!!!
  6. Thanks bunches! today was the 2 week mark so I thought I would post up a couple pix of my incisions. The incision did open up under my right arm pit but doc says that the scar will just be a little wider there...which is no big deal bc it will never be seen *not to mention if I really hate it I'll just utilize my free laser treatments lol. Heres a peak. She put fresh steri-strips on it this morning after removing the 4 stitches...ugh the steri-strips ITCH!!!!
  7. OK so I just had a brachioplasty done not quite 2 weeks ago and let me tell you I am ECSTATIC with the results. Anyhow so my next PS that I want to have is an inner thigh lift. My plastic surgeon suggested doing this is a 2 step process.....he said so lipo and give it time to heal then do the actual lift. Can they not do this together? So here's a few questions I have for ppl that have had it done......I know I could google the info but I like to discuss this kind of stuff with ppl that have actually had it done 1. How happy were you with the results? My thighs for the most part are bumpy from cellulite and sag at the inner thigh. 2. How long were you down for? I work 3 jobs (1 FT and 2 PT bc Im easily bored) so I need to be back on my feet asap. I was down for the brachioplasty for about a week but it worked out to where we were closed for 2 weeks anyway :-) 3. How visible is this scar compared to others. My surgeon talked like he would have to go all the way down to the knee.
  8. Well....my 2 little stiches that are at the ends of my incisions on each arm will come out monday morning. I will try and remember to take pictures when I get home from work. of how well it is healing. My scars are going to look great I do believe. Im so excited :-)
  9. Bromo...do you get on facebook? I am a member of a lb group on there and there are several ppl that would be interested in getting together!!!
  10. Im a little outside the area but I dont see why we couldnt get something like that together!??!!
  11. They just unfilled me and gave me some heartburn meds to take for 2 weeks then stop completely. Now I have put myself on Nexium (Im a nurse practitioner) and I am having no problems. Once I heal from my recent surgery (had brachioplasty) I am going to go back and discuss getting refilled.
  12. Thanks a bunch. I love ink. Ive kinda gotten addicted to it lol.
  13. Thank you all very much. This evening has been a little rough. I slept just about all day but there were tornado warnings all around about lunch time. So that really freaked me out...I was here by myself bc my hubs went back to work today and I felt like a sitting duck. Thank God it went all north of here. But after that was all over I went back to bed. Not too sure why I feel so drained today. I have gotten in plenty of fluids and plenty of protein. Ive felt cold all day and its 73 in my house...lol. Anyway, thank you all for the great comments. I will post pix as time goes on. Im so excited about summer its crazy winter isnt even officially here yet lol.
  14. OK Im warning you these pix are kinda yucky but here is POSTOP DAY 1:
  15. Headed to the Doc in about a hour!!! Woot woot!!!
  16. *For some reason my posts submitted three time so this post and the post after this one is just mean to take up space!!!
  17. well~ surgery took about 1 1/2 hrs. I was home at exactly 12:00!! I think they took me back and started all the prep at 7:30. I slept at home til about 2ish I think and Ive been up ever since~~well sitting up in bed watching movies lol. I have like 10 pillows on my bed but I had to get up for a bit as I am going stir crazy! The pain is actually pretty minimal. My arms are bandaged so I cant really see anything yet. But I have to go back to the doc in the am and get my bandages off. Im glad I go back so quickly because I have a little bit of blood on my right elbow. But its a small amount so it was probably just driaining earlier or something. Most if the pain is in my arm pits...mainly just some mild burning. But every now and then I'll have little short bursts of buring along the incision. But it goes away quickly. I've had a headache ever since I got out of surgery though which sucks. But hopefully when I take my meds here shortly and get some sleep that'll go away. If bandages come off tomorrow I'll get some pix!! (This was supposed to post last night but didnt)
  18. I LOVED it when I could only get liquids down for breakfast! That saved me a lot of calories in the morning time. I generally could eat something soft for lunch then for dinner pretty much could eat normally. The only reason Im not filled right now is because I had such horrible reflux over the summer they wanted to give me a break but then when he went in and put in the .5cc it was too much. I think I will request a much smaller fill!
  19. WOW! That is expensive!!! The initial consultation was $50. The surgery for me is $3400 however I think the rate went up to $3600 recently. You have 1 follow up 2 weeks after. the stitches are disolvable except for 2. HOWEVER you may be able to work it out to where he will let someone near you remove them. You could easily go to like an Urgent Care near you and let a nurse practitioner there remove the 2 stitches. If you have family near here it would probably be beneficial for you to stay nearby. Even if you stayed in a local hotel here you could stay for like $60 a night or so.
  20. I have always hated my arms too! I even went out and bought me a REALLY cute tank top for next summer in anticipation of this surgery!!! hehehehe! You can do anything you want skinny!!!!
  21. SVM where do you live? Anniston is about a hour east of Birmingham. I went to Birmingham for consultations as well and the price was double!!
  22. Woo hoo that is awesome please keep us updated!!
  23. I wish my doc would do a .3cc fill about the lowest he has gone is .5 and that is way too much. When drinking a milkshake causes you problems you know you're too tight!!!
  24. yeah I hope we can get more ppl back in the alabama support area!! we all need it lol
