cosmetic surgery after Lap band surgery

I have lost approx 125 lbs, my stomach looks like alot of flab, seen a liposuction dr. and he says i need tummy tuck and not liposuction....I have read in some places that liposuction works as well and don't have the discomfort and cost of tummy tuck. Has anyone out there experience this>

  • What you need is definitely a tummy tuck and not liposuction. I'm having mine done next week and I couldn't be more excited!!

Unfortunately, liposuction will only remove fat from under the skin, it will not remove skin. I can tell you first hand that a TT is well worth the recovery. Listen to your surgeon..

I had some lipo before my tummy tuck and like everyone says it won't get rid of the skin. Lipo is kind of like a fast way to lose some weight/fat but with the skin still there, it won't help much with the trying to get a nice body.

I would do some lipo with a tummy tuck together in a surgery.

Had hanging skin also- just had my TT on the 26th of August- well worth it

Plastic surgery isn't bad in itself. I think the issue is people's attitudes to it...."just a nip here" or "a tuck there" or "a bit of this added/removed" as if it's the butchers/fishmongers! It is still major surgery, and carries all the usual risks! It 's as though some people think because they are doing it for vanity, it automatically becomes"not so serious"

Its ok not to want to show the ravages of time and look as good as you can but I'd rather take care of what I have to make it last longer! And as for enhancement...I 'll go for making the best of my good bits...perfection is an illusion!

Well, i agree with that totally, but it doesnt change the fact that those imperfections really do get to us.

The fact is, liposuction is serious surgery with significant risk, so it is not safer than a tt. If youre going to do anything, you may as wellick the option that will give you really good results, lipo is designed to augment and enhance a tummy tuck, not be a substitute.

I just had my first ps and plan to have more! I worked hard to lose this weight now I wanna own it!!!! If it takes a little nip and a little tuck here and there then so be it I have earned it!!!!
