Insurance denied me so I am having to do self pay as well. My surgeon thankfully feels confident that he can do it all in 1 surgery. Getting revision completed March 3rd!!

Day 1 of preop and my head is already killing me so I feel your pain!!!

Here are a few questions I have: Will scar tissue around my band be an issue? When do I come back for drain removal? When can I restart medications more specifically Metformin? How long do I have to wait to exercise? What is my lifting limit?

Ok March sleevers.....I need help. Preop appt is tomorrow for me to ask questions. I am having band to sleeve revision March 3rd...what questions should I be asking tomorrow?

I bet. I start mine Monday we have same surgery date...wonder what makes docs pic their liquid diet length.

Ok is anyone else having their surgery in a surgery center? The doc office called today this is what I am to expect so far: surgery at the surgery center bc I am cash pay. It is joined to the hospital....I'll go home same day with a drain and return the next day for drain removal...everyone else I know has had it and stayed overnight....so now I am freaking out. I may cancel all together.

I have only told ppl that I am getting my band removed. I haven't mentioned getting the revision to sleeve. Are any of you on fb? Definitely should find a way to stay connected. I start liquids next Tuesday! This Saturday I have a nutrition class, see my doc on Monday for prep, 2nd nutrition class on Wednesday then I am good to go. It is becoming so surreal. A friend of mine had it done right at a month ago and has already lost 20lbs. But I told her she didn't need the surgery to begin with!! I was thinking of trying the unjury as well.

Yay! What protein mix did you get. I start on the 24th with liquid diet as well. I need to lost about 100lbs. March 3rd is a great day!!!

I'm a March 3rd as well. Thankfully I don't have To start liquids until next week. Good luck to you! Have you found a good Protein shake?

I'm only telling ppl that I am having my band removed. I was never shy about the band but feel like they'll just judge me if I say I am having another gastric surgery. Becomingradiant did you dr anticipate any trouble with band removal? I have had mine for 7 yrs

I have had a lot of small things wrong with my band over the years. Needless to say I keep getting reflux with every little fill. Undergoing revision on March 3rd. insurance would not pay so I'm going to do one surgery cash pay. Dr said shouldn't take more than 2 hrs.

Good luck. It's stuff like this that makes us aware of how much our society uses food to socialize. You can do this!!

I am undergoing lap band removal with revision to sleeve on my 7th wedding anniversary 3/3/15!! Having to do cash pay this go round but thankful I have a supportive husband.

I am wondering the same except my bi is now 40 but they want it at 40 for the past two years and I have a few weights where it drops to 38

Keep fingers crossed I go Friday for my consult. I hope it is as easy as it was for me to get the band. I had hardly any trouble with insurance getting it put in now lets hope they'll take it out and revise.

I was wondering how long it would take. I meet with my surgeon on the 23rd. Its not the same one who did my initial band I actually have more confidence in this guy and switched to him after my previous one refused to accept that the band was the reason for my reflux.

Cheetahpride: Is your doc doing it all in one surgery? How long have you had your band?

I am also considering revision surgery. I have had my lap band since 2008. I did great at first. I lost from 289 to 174. BUT I had to have my gallbladder out because they felt that was why I was having so much reflux. Since that surgery in 2010 I have struggled so much with my band. I started gaining weight quickly I currently have about 7.5cc in a 10cc band and they really don't want to put any more in. Most days I feel stuck up top with reflux and stomach growling below. I throw up frequently. I have gained back up to 240lbs and I do NOT want to gain any more. I am going to see my surgeon in 2 weeks to discuss revision. I am hoping he can take the band out and do the sleeve in the same surgery otherwise I am not going through with it. That's my biggest concern along with insurance possibly giving me trouble......

Got my band unfilled today....it has helped me lose a lot of weight but over this past year I have slowly been putting weight back on. I have battled with reflux now for 2 of the 3 years. Had a perfectly healthy galbladder removed because they thought it was causing the reflux. I finally decided that the band was no longer helping me. So now I have to re-lose the 20lbs that I have gained back. And figure out how to do it without the band. I am over it. Over dealing with throwing up and reflux and still not losing. I really just wish that I would have had the gastric bypass!

I am considering a thigh lift next but will wait until after I have kids I do believe

It is going well! I do still have some numbness but as long as noone touches my scars Im fine lol. It is just right along the upper scar line but it has gotten better. I don't even notice it hardly except for when I rub lotion on it. For some reason I have not been getting email updates from this site so I apologize that I have not posted on this thread in quite some time. When I get home this evening I will post up some recent pix. I love my arms I am so excited for the summer to get here lol. My scar line is still pretty red but Im pretty sure that will fade away over the next year or so. You can't even see my scar except from behind anyway lol. I was super worried about the scar too but when it came down to it I was more self concious of the bat wings that I am with a scar! I hope you all are doing well! More pix to come tonight!!!
