Does your liquid diet consist of only broth and Water?

I had my surgery done last Thursday with Dr Wilhelmy. I will comment on all of this after work today. I had an amazing experience and will tell you the price was worth it. More details to follow this afternoon.

Thanks.... I feel fantastic! I get released tomorrow. Honestly everyone here is so wonderful I am sad to go. I would say the hardest part was the morning after drinking the dye for the leak test. Otherwise its been a breeze. Nothing at all first day. Yesterday liquids. Today after passing 2nd leak test I got broth. I will recommend walking as much as you can. I truly feel like I fell asleep and woke up 10 minutes later all done. I hope yours goes as mine has.

Well I'm officially sleeved!!!! Everyone here has been wonderful. Very kind and incredibly knowledgeable. hi Jake, well if all is the same you should be arriving today and well I will be leaving this morning. I wanted to let you know these last few days have been wonderful. Dr Wilhelmy and Dr Campos along with all the other doctors are incredible. They explain everything, you can always ask questions, they are super attentive. Seriously I have never had doctors comes see you daily and even just to say goodbye because you're leaving in the morning. Carla and Yolanda are incredible also, you will love them. Everyone is kind and has a fun sense of humor. Now for surgery..... testing took only a few mins the day I got here. Next morning I came in and was in sugery within 30 mins. No waiting no having to be anxious. Honestly it was as though he put me to sleep and I woke up 10 mins later in my room. I have been fortunate not to have any pain, I know everyone is different but the nurses and doctors are right there should you need anything. I truly can't say enough good . I wish you the best.....wish I could be here when you got here. Sending you hugs!!!! Let me know how you are doing.

I had mine yesterday with Dr. Wilhelmy at Almater hospital. Stayed first night at hotel Lucerna. Feeling great so far Everyone here has been wonderful.

My doc gave me a high Protein no carb diet. I did it for first 3 days, wasn't able to eat enough ( I get full normally after a few bits) so asked to do a liwuid Protein Shake. That worked perfectly. Had surgery yesterday morning. They dont allow anything at all not even Water for first 24 hours but it was ok. I wasn't hungry at all. Wish you all the best

Hi everyone, I have been following along and trying to get a chance to respond. Surgery is Oct 2nd and I have been a bit overwhelmed between getting ready, making sure family will be taken care of and work. So I finally have a minute. I will admit I am now a bit nervous but I know this is going to be a wonderful journey. I am happy to be on this journey with all of you. Its always nice to have people who understand. I started my pre op diet which was Protein but have changed to a Liquid Protein diet as I fill up fast and wasn't getting much food in me anyway. I will be thinking of you all during your surgeries. I leave for Mexico Wednesday morning and surgery is Thursday. I will post when I can. Best wishes and hugs to everyone

Im scheduled at Mexicali bariatric center in Mexico. The flight doesnt scare me. Not even sure whats scaring me. Ha ha omg I am so ready to be fit and skinny!!! I have been my whole life also except for maybe 3 years. My 14 year old daughter is so excited for me but has two stipulations. 1. I cant have a thigh gap (cause even though she is thin she doesnt have one) and 2. I cant be hotter than her. Ha ha love it. Since we are practically twins aside from size and age , pretty sure I will just be "as cute" as her . Lol

I've lost 15 pounds on the 10 day liquid diet, I was shocked but I had gain 25 pounds over the last year trying to get all the requirements done that my insurance needed and there were other road blocks and I'd get to points that I thought what the heck and eat a bag of chips.
The liquid diet my surgeon had me on let me eat 3 oz of chicken twice a day but it will be a long time before I want plain old chicken again!
I was hungry a lot but I kept telling myself that this time the diet is permanent, I won't have to worry about when and how much MORE weight I'll gain back once I go off the diet. I know it's possible to gain after you have the sleeve but it's a very good tool to help keep me from gaining this time.
It really helped me to tell my co-workers, friends and family what I was doing. So when I tired or said or did silly things they'd just laugh with me because they knew I was only eating about 600 calories a day.
Just 2 more days! I check in at 9am on Wed morning for my surgery.

I am scheduled for October 2nd in Mexico. So excited and can't wait to hear all of your success stories!
