  1. Hi Lauren wow you are going to be on pre op for a while what does your pre op diet consist of? I was lucky only had to do 6 days but that was enough i was only allowed 4 pints of milk a day plus and oxo nearly killed me lol. Best wishes Lisa
  2. HI Has anyone found that they can eat somethings ie bread say in the morning but cant eat it in the afternoon. My band seems to have a mind of it's own, it allows me to eat bread sometimes and then other times of day it says no way ?? Lisa
  3. Hi Helen You have done so well up to now that i'm sure you will get back on track. I too ate lots of chocolate and cakes over xmas and your right they go down so easy. If your finding it hard to keep food down could your band be too tight ??
  4. Hi natty Good luck with nhs, hope you dont have to wait too long to get banded. I too paid private but my doctor approved it and wanted to know how much it was going to cost me lol
  5. wow maincat What an impressive weight loss, well done!! I was banded on the 24th of november and have my second fill on Monday 21st as i still can eat quite large portions. but hey well done again. Good luck luciej, you will not regret it thats for sure, keep us all posted. best wishes Lisa

  7. Hi debbie I'm like you portion size still quite large, but hey aren't you doing well with the weight loss, go girl!!!. Lets hope we both get our sweet spot next fill. You keep up the good work and i will try to post more often best wishes Lisa
  8. Belated happy new year to all Hi Debbie and all new bandsters. Had my first fill just before xmas and have some restriction, but what it did do for me was stopped a lot of the gas i had been experiencing. Realy pleased with the way things have settled down. As long as i don't eat too fast (my biggest problem) then i would not know the band was there, can still eat a good portion but i'm assured this wont be the case once they get the right fill and that it could take up to three or four fills. Booked in for second fill on 21st Jan, have joined the gym and go swimming three times a week so i am hoping for the weight to start moving, it's going but at a slow rate, not sure of how much untill i weigh in on 21st. will keep you posted. Again might be few and far between as still working nights and days, Good luck to you all very best wishes lisa
  9. Hi again, which online site would you say was the best?
  10. Small world huh, they are all part of same team i believe, with m Mr Somers, i must say realy impressed with the way things have gone and the after care package too. Do you have a support group?
  11. hi Debbie, Mr Toh is my surgeon and i am at Clare Park hospital Farnham surrey, they are trying to get together a support group, so at the moment only on this site. Where are you in uk and what hospital surgeon etc best wishes lisa
  12. hi Debbie I live in Fleet Hampshire, had my first fill hour ago, have only had cup of coffee so far, but have lost 16lb from start including pre op diet. So, so far so good. look forward to having restriction. oh and well done wicked weight loss. Sorry if it takes a while for me to reply i work seven days a week. (Got to pay for this op some how lol!!)
  13. Hi Lynsay I had my surgery on the 24th Nov and just like you i am hungry and though i have not been sick have made myself uncomfortable. I thought i was the only one that would do something so silly and have gained a couple of pounds but as most people say we are in the healing stage and not to worry about losing but more about healing. We will do fine, roll on first fill Lisa
  14. wow, thank goodness for this site. I had band fitted on 24th Nov and from day one had no restriction, I was constantly hungry and only the fact that this op cost me £7000 has kept me on a diet for the last 18 days apart from one binge day. Then about 4 days ago the burping started and gets uncomfortable when i eat and drink untill i have burped (or farted) i am uncomfortable. I know now that a lot of people have this, i just wonder why mine has only started now after 14 days. I did have the op gas pain in my shoulder from day one, but that is a lot less now. Thank you all as i feel less like a freak now with my massive burps and farts lol.
  15. hi Gary and well done that realy is a great weight loss, good luck with tummy tuck and finding a special bandster to share your new life with Hi to Steve, Again you are doing realy well too, especially with no fill yet, me i am 18 days post op and have had no restriction untill about two days ago and now i can only eat porridge and the likes of, i am due for 1st fill on the 17th just three weeks after op. Some have said this is wrong, but my surgeon says he does not fill the band at all during op, where as some do ?? Also hello to Debbie well done, another great weight loss. I had lost 3kg in 5 days of pre op diet, dont know if i have lost anymore as i wont get on my scales, want to wait and use the hospital ones, so will post and let you know how i get on next Monday. best wishes to you all Lisa
  16. Well eleven days post op now and i have not got any restriction at all, can eat normally. I do have a lot of pain in my left shoulder, but i had read about that so was no suprise, i do get a lot of gas after eating and drinking, and i have lost some weight but will have to wait untill i weigh in at my first fill on the 17th December.
  17. Hi to all I live in Hampshire and i got my band fitted on saturday 24th, good luck to all those who have had one fitted and especially to those waiting for funding, will keep my fingers crossed for you Best wishes Lisa
  18. I had my surgery saturday and yes i was scared, even to the point of doing my will. Have had surgery before and never got scared. i think for me it was because i was making a choice to have the op. Glad i did day four post op and doing well, good luck to you, you will be fine.
  19. Hi Steve Have just been banded on 24th Nov, so i am day two of post op and feel suprisingly very well. Like you i would encourage all on pre op diet to follow it as my surgeon said my liver had shrunk considerably and he knew i had followed the diet. Best wishes Lisa
  20. Well done Hellen What an achievment you must be very proud of yourself. one for having the op and two for the great wieght loss, hope soon to be able to put some weight loss onto my tickertape. Keep up the good work. Like you i feel great, and was shopping the day i got out of hospital, only for short while but still out. I am on day two post op now and quite shocked with how well i feel. As i had read of so many people being off work for weeks Best wishes Lisa
  21. Hi Holly Good luck for tomorrow, i am sure your sniffles wont stop the op. I am two days post op now and feel great. Look forward to hearing from you after your op Best wishes lisa
  22. Hi steph Sorry if my post misled you. i have no fill in my band at the moment, as my surgeon places the band but does not fill it. He has seen that over the hundreds of patients he has fitted that we are all different. He has found that some patients did not need a fill at all for six months as the unfilled band was giving them restriction, where as some felt no restriction at all and need a fill earlier. At our first fill he also does it under xray to ensure the band is in right position and funtioning properly (barium meal)
  23. good luck to all of you tomorrow. Had mine done yesterday feel great
  24. Thanks Gail I am back to work on tuesday, good luck !!
  25. No post op diet, as my surgeon will not do a fill for the first two weeks so that his patients can eat normally to aid recovery and allow sweelling to go down from the operation.
