  1. So I've read through the booklet I got from my surgeon's office and I feel like they're program advances faster than what I've read on here. It says I can go back to regular food 4-6 weeks out. I know every doctor is different but it just seems kind of fast.
  2. I am having my surgery on the 22nd and having it at the university of Illinois
  3. One week till my surgery. I'm so excited but nervous I keep thinking something is going to come up and I won't be able to get the surgery done. I'm just being paranoid. I can't wait till it's finally done.
  4. I have a desk job and I'm only planning to take a little over a week off. But my doctor did also tell me that I can't lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk for 6 weeks.
  5. @395Ron Praying for a speedy recovery.
  6. I haven't had surgery yet, but I also took pictures and plan on taking measurements the night before surgery. Something else that I am doing is Mason Jars and Marbles. So I have two mason jars one is labeled To Lose (how many lbs I want to lose) and the other is labeled Lost(how many lbs I've lost). So I counted out the marbles by how much I want to lose and put them in the To Lose jar, and as I lose weight I will move the marbles from one jar to the other. Just something fun to do. I saw someone do it on Youtube and thought it was pretty cool.
  7. Congrats!! Good luck on your journey. I'm scheduled for Oct. 22nd. I see our stats are similar. Keep us updated on your progress.
  8. I'm also on Oct. 22nd. The liquid diet is hard especially when you see other people eating. But I just keep telling myself it'll be over soon and everything will be worth it.
  9. @@MsMe What was the reason for denial? Appeal until you can't anymore. I was denied three times until I was finally approved.
  10. @@Doggirl79 I was actually denied because of weight gain also. I was also told if I lost the weight they would approve me but i still got denied again. Hopefully this doesn't happen to you and you get a quick approval. In the end I did get approved but had to go through an external review. Keep us updated. Good Luck!!
  11. @@nervous nana I've just been doing regular broth. I went to Panera bread yesterday and asked for two cups of chicken broth. Got a crazy look but hey it was good. I also plan on making some chicken broth.
  12. I'm having the same issue. The shakes aren't sitting well with my stomach. I'm suppose to have 4 1/2 a day and yesterday I only could manage 3 and same thing today. I feel like if I drink another shake it's going to come back up.
  13. I started my liquid diet today also. RNY on the 23rd, how are feeling tonight? How many shakes are you supposed to be drinking?I'm suppose to drink 4 1/2 shakes a day. Yesterday I only managed to drink three and so far today I've only drank two. They aren't sitting well with my stomach. Honestly I feel horrible lol. But I can have unlimited broth so that's been helping. How are you doing?
  14. @@scubav85 I am taking a week off of work. So I'll have about 10 days after surgery to rest. I have a desk job and can get up and walk around when I need to.
  15. @@dede0314 - so awesome, good luck! The two weeks goes by fast, but know it is hard to believe. I will say that day 2-3 were hard for me... I had the carb flu, big time yet when that time passes, an amazing clarity took place.... I was often not hungry, was satisfied earlier, and had a newfound energy I'm 10 hours out from my surgery and still in hospital. I'm doing great and excited about the road ahead! Thanks! Yesterday was kind of hard because the shakes aren't agreeing with my stomach... I'm suppose to drink 4 1/2 shakes a day but I only managed three... Hope you're doing well... Praying for a speedy recovery
  16. Good luck to those having surgery today. I started my liquid diet today...Two more weeks till my big day.
  17. @@Zugehily Most insurance companies require a physician documented weight loss program. I don't think doing your own diet without a physician documentation would work. But you can call your insurance to confirm.
  18. @@auttinicole I've never seen where they performed WLS before getting approval. I wouldn't take the chance. You don't want to take the chance of being left with the bill. I would call the insurance company and speak to someone higher up and get the information.
  19. Start my liquid diet today... Two more weeks till the big day... Nervous but very excited...
  20. Start my pre-op liquid diet today....2 more weeks left...
