  2. i'm about 7 weeks out, lost 44 pounds but now wondering where to turn. my doc said i could try regular foods just alot smaller portions but i feel like i'm still taking pee-pee steps.. when did everyone start lettuce? i really want tuna and cheese wrapped in a lettuce leaf... sounds delicious to me :)

At six weeks, I was pemitted to try regular food, but advised to hold off on lettuce and raw foods until three months.

Dont be scared to try certain foods, its the only way you'll know what bothers you. Try a bite of EVERYTHING, chew it very well, and wait a bit. If no problems, try another etc. Good luck !!

I've been doing lettuce for a few weeks now. I really wanted to because I miss salads. I've done a small lettuce wrap, but it's not the same. Not problems digesting it though.

Hahaha....delegate and nap. I don't think I have anything to add to that great advice. If those don't work - both the dirt and sweeper will be there when you have healed further.

      Take care.

    Bad breath!

i've also noticed the bad breath... i brush multiple times a day... i always feel like my teeth have a weird film over them now. I've always been about nice teeth so i do keep up on my brushing and dentist visits. also, my pee i think smells too... it's light yellow in color so i think i can rule out dehydration but any suggestions on what to change?
  8. today is my 1 week post-op mark.... i can't believe i've already made it this far. Last night i tried some cottage cheese and it was tough but i don't think i chewed it enough, today i did really well with greek yogurt and i'm able to explore with my purees now. Any tasty ideas that work well for others during the puree stage, please share and i'll do my best to try all the suggestions :)

  9. waiting to hear how your doing... excellent, i hope!

  10. hey everyone! I am 6 days post-op and i've had some of the same concerns. I have hd no problem taking in water and fluids and also my protein drinks. I'm not hungry at all but I can't wait to eat something to make sure i can feel that full feeling.
  11. hey everyone! just wanted to let ya'll know that i'm home from my sleeve, resting...gettiing my fluids in and am about to unjury chicken soup protein. My doc said over the next few days just to try and focus on water because dehydration during this time period is likely to occur and he doesn't want me bloated on protein and not taking in water. Boiy, my experience was different than i thought. I woke up from surgery with a great deal of pain on my lieft side but as soon as i told my nurse it was controlled. The doctor said my case was difficult because my liver didn't shrink as much as expected leaving him not much room to get around in my belly. I did have a drain placed to help rid excess fluid out my abdomen, which was removed this morning before i came home... I made it home in time to go to my sons football game and i was ok there. I'm feeling just tired and a little weak but everyday is getting better and hopefully will continue to..... talk to everyone soon!

  16. made to day 3 pre-op!

  17. hey everyone, just wanted to write a little bit about what i'm about to go through and how i'm feeling. I told everyone about my surgery but my boss and co-workers, at this point i don't want any negativity so i'm still undecided on when or if i will actually tell them. I felt through this whole journey that i had alot of support but as the days near i'm starting to doubt that. My fiance was not really supportive in my decision because he has heard the horror stories and stories of people constantly being sick and throwing up and i explained how this is hopefully different from the gastric bypass and doesn't have dumping syndrome issues and since then i thought he was pretty supportive. Now, that i'm scheduled to start my full liquids tomorrow, i'm worried that he isn't going to be as supportive as i initially thought. Tonight was my "last dinner" (that sounds so silly) and he came home late after my son and i already ate, gulped his food down and then out the door to take our son to football practice. I'm sitting here so hurt.... like the last dinner i could have with my family for several weeks and it was no big deal to him that he was late.... am i over re-acting because or are these normal emotions? i just feel like now, i'm going to be alone.... help!!
  18. i start my full liquids and Protein drinks tomorrow my surgery is oct 23rd.
  19. my sleeve is scheduled for october 23rd. i start my liquid pre-op on wednesday
  20. i'm nervous, my surgery is october 23rd and i'm scheduled to go back to work on october 30th. I work for an oral surgeon and stand and walk all day but from what i'm reading the more you walk the better you feel. Im hoping i'm able to return in a timely fashion.... also, my close friends and family know everything about the procedure but my boss and co-workers do not... i gotta break it to atleast my boss soon, considering my surgery is in less than two weeks...any suggestions? i've just had such a long list of negative responders, saying things like oh you aren't fat, just exercise, dont ya think that's a little much, etc... at this point i'm ready, and would just like to have my last few days at work peaceful and not spend it all defending my decision to be healther
