stay75 got a reaction from Drband14 in Uneven abdominal swelling
I just went for my first follow up and he too has me waiting 4-6 weeks more until my first fill. It's because the stomach is still swollen. He also told me just be mindful to what I eat and remember to chew. My hardest thing to remember to do is not to drink and eat at the same time

So tomorrow I am meeting my surgeon and getting the call from the hospital about what time to go in for Thursday. I can't believe the it's only one day away. Thursday February 19 with be my new beginning. Thank you all that have answered my posted and for all of you guys posting thigh out there. I feel like I'm pretty well prepared. I am already lost 9 pounds on the liquid diet which wasn't too bad for me. And I'm already fitting into my clothes differently. Thanks again.

stay75 reacted to Keeper in 3 months in (with pictures)
I am 3 months in and I have great days and bad days. There is still so much I have to learn, or relearn as the case may be, but on my good days, I feel stronger than ever. I definitely still have issues to work on, but it feels so good to know that I did this for myself and that hard work is paying off. I am such a results oriented person that it is hard to take things day by day, sometimes. Having said that, 3 months is a great time to reflect on where I was 3 months ago.
3 months ago I weighed the most I ever have. Today I am almost down to my lowest adult weight.
3 months ago I was a collective 24 inches larger than I am (arms, bust, waist, hips, thighs).
3 months ago I had knee pain severe enough to make me finally go see an ortho for him to basically tell me there was nothing wrong with my knees and that I needed to lose weight. For the record I think he is way wrong - knees don't hurt for no reason, even if I am/was overweight. Today my knees only hurt if the weather is doing something crazy (true story) or if I have been particularly active.
3 months ago I was 20 pounds heavier. Today I still battle with the word "only" - I "only lost 20 pounds, etc, and "should" - I "should" be further along than I am, etc. But today I am more capable of giving myself grace when I make mistakes.
3 months ago I overate constantly, exercised very little, and was very lethargic. Today I still battle motivation to a degree, but I go walking 5 days out of the week and I use my band to help control how much I eat. Today I am that much closer to my green zone than I was 3 months ago.
3 months ago I took antacid medicine on a regular basis. Today I have zero heartburn or gerd issues. In fact, I haven't had heartburn once since surgery.
Last but not least, I will attach some pictures. I am very self-conscious of these, but they tell my story more clearly than any words I could say. 3 months ago I said, "it's hopeless; I can never change." Today I say, "yes, I have a long way to go but it IS possible. I CAN do this. I WILL do this."

Your Doctor is absolutely right. Band is awful. By the way has anyone seen the 300+ pounds my stupid band misplaced? It's September and I am already freezing without all my excess fat!!

I haven't gotten mine done yet still three more months of weigh inn for me but I do have more questions. I run now I have run a bunch of 1/2 marathons and have done serval triathlons and would still like to continue doing these things (especially since I will be loading weigh and it will be nice doing these things without all the extra weigh!!!). I was wondering if any of you have done these after the surgery (and I know not right After). I want to run my first marathon in my 40s (I turn in May and am thinking OF doing nyc marathon in 2015) which is why I'm asking if anyone does these and how is that going. I'm nervous because they say you can't chug Water and I know sometimes without thinking I do b

In about 210 the last time I checked so my BMI is around 41. I'm able to do it now in fact the pass two days I had to do it tons of time which once things are in full swing I will only have do it it maybe 3 times. For someone who is over weight I haven't let it stop me from doing big things. I have ran a bunch of 1/2 marathons and have done a few Olympic distance triathlons. I'm sure after I'm good from the surgery I will be able to get back into it just no chugging the Water.
So you think I should take a week off after. (I know I have time just reading some of these stories I can't wait for the after part haha).
Thanks all for your kind words and help
