  1. You wouldn't be true to yourself if you weren't feeling this way. I'm nearly a week post op and I still feel this way. Every step of the journey is a learning process, and that's exciting and scary at the same time. Perfectly normal. What helps me is to always circle back to how I felt when I first initiated the process for wls. And most of all to think about where I would be right now if I hadn't pursued the surgery, and that word comes instantly: miserable. I have no regrets. And I think you won't either. One day at a time! Good luck!
  2. Congrats! Your big day is finally here! Best of luck and well wishes on your brand new journey!
  3. Sorry didn't answer the second part. Some require you do them yourself at home after surgery, like Kate had. Others only require you have them given while in hospital, which was my experience.
  4. They're most commonly known as heparin or lovenox injections given in your stomach. They're blood thinners.
  5. Let us know how the talk goes, and know that we are all virtually supporting you here! Draw on that strength, if needed. ????????????
  6. @@Gumpgal so sorry to hear you been having this pain! Didn't see this thread until now. Hope the new meds will help. Let us know how you're doing. Feel better soon!
  7. Congrats @@tcon! Glad to hear all went well. I think you'll find you'll feel a lot better after you start walking. Walk as much as you can. Welcome to the other side! Hope you feel better soon!
  8. That must be a wonderful feeling. Congratulations!
  9. Welcome Tia! We're here and listening. Always around if you need support. Good luck!
  10. Congrats on your surgery day! Nerves are normal, but you're going to be more than fine. Concentrate on why you're doing this, and what you hope to achieve. You are so much stronger than you realize. Good luck!
  11. Oh congrats, I'm so happy for you! You'll do okay with breaking the news to your dad. Eventually, if not now, he'll come to understand that this is your life, and you're just doing your best to get healthy. You're going to have a beautiful life!
  12. I'm finding that too. Used the liquid pain med a couple of times. Finding I don't really need it and I seem to sleep better without it. Now in the hospital I was definitely using the pain pump! ????
  13. Glad to hear things are going well. Congrats!
  14. I feel for you, Kate. I only had the injections once a day at the hospital, done by the nurses, and I'm still bruised solidly. Can't imagine having to do them myself at home. So glad yours have almost come to an end! Funny you mention your dog. I have two cockapoos. My brother and his girlfriend have been taking care of them since a couple of days before surgery, so I haven't seen them in over a week. They're bringing them back to me today because I can't stand another day without them. I love and miss my babies! ☺️
  15. Hi @! Doing very well thank you! Getting down all fluids, Protein drinks, even Vitamins without a hitch. All in all everything has gone so much better than I ever expected. How are you doing? How far out are you now? Feeling pretty much back to normal? I would love to hear what it feels like from your progression point. Thanks for all your hugs and well wishes along the way, Kate. You're always a bright spot in my day! ????
  16. Thank you @@agalindo17! It does feel nice to have claimed my spot on the bench!
  17. Congrats on being sleeved and you will find an abundance of support here. ????
  18. You share the most beautiful pictures and insights! Keep posting @@gowalking!
  19. You made this decision to save your life. Don't let anyone else's opinion deter you from your original course. Think of it this way, where will you be if you listen to outsiders, one month, one year from now? Right where you are now that's where, hating your life, your body, and forget any prospects of a healthy future. The only thing you will accomplish by backtracking is silencing the naysayers. That's a high price to pay in my opinion, but ultimately it's up to you, and only you. Weigh the pros and cons, go in fully prepared and 100% sure, and on your terms and no others. Best of luck!
  20. Feeling good @proudgrammy. Everyday is better than the last.
  21. I had to take everything off. Just a gown. But once you're settled, you really don't care. ????
  22. You are beautiful @@bellabloom! And you have a lovely family too!
  23. Oh my goodness! You look so beautiful! What an amazing transformation! Congratulations!
  24. Don't overpack. Especially electronics. I only ended up using my phone. Bring a long charger cord. I had trouble getting mine to reach my bedside where the plugs were placed. And get up walking as soon as possible. Walk as much as you can. You will feel so much better. My surgery was at noon and they wrote on my board that I was to start walking at 10 pm. When they didn't come at the stroke of 10 I called them. I only needed assisted walking the first time, and that was because they had to show me how to unplug myself, after that I did it on my own. And I did it every chance I got. Good luck!
