sweet bro!!! I am in same boat. that is a true victory right there. My wake up moment for getting serious about weight loss was when my uniform pants 44" could no longer button. it takes forever to get new ones shipped. 5 months post op I am wearing 38". I have a pair of 36" that button, but a few more pounds will make them oh so nice. couldn't even imagine a 34" I was a 36" in high school. (many many moons ago)
    awesome work. keep it up.

    Fantastic Mike! Congrats.
I think I'll go check one of my old pairs of 36's just for fun...
    ETA: I don't even own any 36's!!!
But thanks to you I found out that I have now dropped from 46's to 38's.
    I'll take that.????

    Mike...Congrats, Dude!!! It's a great feeling!!!
If I've said this once, I've said it a thousand times...PLEASE don't make the same mistake I did!!! I got so excited that I got out of my 44 - 46 pants and into 36's that I went on a damned shopping spree!!! And then about 2 months later, THEY were all too big and I had to give them all away!!! Don't invest in a true wardrobe until you get down your comfortable goal weight, which you most definitely WILL achieve!!!
Once again...congrats, my man...keep up the good work!!!

I don't like you! I'm 14 days post-surgery, down 30 pounds and still in the same damn pants... I swear all the weight has come off my face, shoulders, and legs. Pants are definitely looser, but not quite ready to drop down in size.
Seriously, congrats - sounds like things are going great for you and its a great feeling. What part of Florida are you in? I'm actually going with a friend from Weston to Mexico for his surgery in a couple weeks.

I moved into size 36 jeans today after a brief 2 week stint in 38's! I'Ve been in tight 42-44's for the last 8 years so this is the best feeling in the world. The fact that it happened in the middle of a 2 week weight stall is even better.
I can't describe how much this changes my "head" in making me realize I am really going to be successful with this surgery. After so many failed diets and weight loss trials over the years I guess I just got programmed to expect eventual failure. This sleeve is changing my body as well as my head and I'm beginning to feel like I now have a tool that is more effective than anything else out there.
Looking forward to 34's. Think I'll Celebrate by going to the gym!

2 months post op and I've lost 55 lbs. I can honestly say that all of these things have already come to pass.
-I'm no longer winded climbing stairs. (And I've completed two 5K races)
-I'm buying smaller clothes because my old ones no longer fit.
-I've still got 50 lbs to go but I'm no longer feeling "fat"!

Either my IPad is possessed or im losing my mind. I tried to type "pre-op" in another post and it auto-corrected to "Oreos".
Really? "Oreos"? On a WLS forum? Guess what I'm craving now..........I hate you IPad.

I signed up for a zip line tour this Saturday. Decided there is no need to wait! It's 14 zip lines over 5 hours so this may be tough but I'm going to do it. I Bought a groupon for this 3 years ago and then realized I was over the weight limit so I couldn't do it.
I'm under now so it's game on!

For me, it's the little things. Being able to step into my car, rather than sit down backwards and drag my legs in. And being able to get up off the floor WITHOUT having to make sure there's a chair, stool, prop nearby that I can use for assistance.
AND I FORGOT ABOUT RESTAURANT BOOTHS!!! The greatest threat ever to overweight people. Booths are only 2nd to Wicker furniture on the fear scale for the overweight. :-P

My daughter signed up for Girls On The Run, a program for 3rd and 4th grade girls, they will meet twice a week after school and learn to run, guess who signed up to be her running buddy for the 5K they will run at the end of the school year, this guy! My first 5K at 47, her first one at 9... lol. Also, we have pre-registered for a color run in July. The big challenge comes in the summer of 2016, when I am going to run my first Tough Mudder! I can't wait, I love the new me!

    Pull-ups...
There was a brief window of time in my early twenties when I could do pull-ups and I'd like to get back to that again.
I'd also like to be able to get into and out of a canoe without every pair of eyes on the beach staring at me to see if I'll sink it...

This weight loss thing can certainly get expensive......
Since my surgery, I have worked extremely hard to get in shape as I lost the weight and now that I have reached my goal weight..........
I setup an upcoming vacation in March to go snow skiing at Breckenridge CO. The thing is......all my ski stuff was so old from years ago, I had to upgrade to all new stuff. Wow.......the costs of everything has gone thru the roof.
But now with all new gear and sharp new ski clothes, I'm anxious to hit the slopes again.

I looked forward to things like being able to learn to windsurf without the teacher laughing at me, being able to go horeseback riding without breaking the horse, and being able to run again without my feet swelling up like balloons. Now that I am close to goal weight, there are other things that I recognize. I can sit in my car without the steering wheel rubbing against my legs, I can sit at any table and no matter how hipster the chairs are, my butt always fits in them, and I can go out in public without ever wondering if the people I hear snickering behind me are laughing at me. I can look through the juniors section and fit into the smaller sizes, whereas before I was stuck shopping in the women's section. I can be reasonably sure that my fat days are not actually days where everyone else also thinks I look fat. I feel like I can live like a normal person without always wondering who is laughing at me for having the nerve to do something other than hide in my house or be on a treadmill. I suppose then all of the things that I looked forward to doing and all of the things I still recognize as being happy about being able to do again all add up to the fact that I get to finally live a life that makes me happy.

Mike4132 reacted to Folly in Sleep patterns are way off (wide awake!)
Yes! It gets harder and harder to fall and stay asleep. I am developing quiet hobbies so I don't bug my family. I used to be sluggish, always tired - could sleep for ten hours. Now I start most days like I've been shot out of a cannon and I never sleep more than 2 - 4 hours a night with no naps during the day. I wonder how common this is post WLS? I hope it gets easier over time to sleep once my body learns to channel energy better...it could happen!

Putting my shoes on from the side.
Being winded after one flight of stairs.
    Buying continuously bigger clothes.
Not being able to buy the clothes I want because they don't make them in my size.
    Just being fat......

Mike4132 got a reaction from defibvt in I can't believe the change in 7 days
I'm 7 days out from surgery and can't believe how fast the weight is coming off already. As of this morning I'm down 22 lbs from the time I started pre-surgery liquids. (I only needed 2 days of liquids prior to surgery). I know this will slow once I get on puréed and solid stages of food but I'm still blown away by how effective this is.
What is probably more important is:
    - I'm sleeping MUCH better and for the first time in 2 years I can breath through my nose instead of laying all night with my mouth open, choking for air. I'm also starting to have, or at least remember, dreams again. I feel like my sleep apnea is gone but realize it may be too early to claim victory entirely. Keeping my fingers crossed.
-I was also pre- diabetic prior to surgery and craved sweets constantly. Now the thought alone makes me nauseous. I also haven't had blood sugar issues at all since surgery.
-My BP has decreased to normal levels.
-I'm wearing clothes that haven't fit me for the last 2 years.
-it may sound strange but everything outside seems more vivid in color. The trees, the sky, the Water, they all seem brighter.....maybe it's just because I'm spending more time outdoors walking and relaxing instead of working, stressing, and eating, but it doesn't seem like it.
So far I'm very happy I had this surgery even though it's far from being easy and I'm still in some slight pain/ discomfort. I'm getting a glimpse of what the future holds and things are looking up for the first time in a long while. I can't wait to see what life is like a year from now!
