I haven't done it yet. I have my colonoscopy on April 7th. I have to start doing a low residue diet a week before and clear liquids one day before but I think to be safe I'd go at least 2 days before (my choice) then the bisacodyl tablets , the miralax mixed with 64 oz of gatorade mix, and then I think a 10 oz. bottle of magnesium citrate, the day of procedure. With lots of water in between. Better than a gallon of that Moviprep if you ask me. Good luck with everything!

My Bariatric team said absolutely no Moviprep, they are having me do the Bisocodyl, Miralax & Gatorade, and Mag Citrate prep instead. It's not as much to drink, by a LOT, and believe me the gastro dept. got pissed that my bariatric center is changing all the preps for post op colonoscopies, but too bad, it's really too much that soon post op, to do at once. My advice talk it over with who you need to and get the gentler and less fluid intake prep.

  8. Ugggghhhhh... my MIL toasted a piece of cinnamon raisin bread for herself for a snack, and it smelled so effing good, I had go to another part of the house. I haven't missed bread a whole lot so far, but tonight I'm sad.

I can imagine how that would trigger some kind of head hunger in me. Certain smells will do it. I'm kind of afraid of the upcoming holidays, to be honest. We have to stay strong. It's good you removed yourself from the food smell.

  14. Hi everyone, I'm one month and one week post op. I just went back to work Monday now all of a sudden my legs are starting to be swollen. Did any experience that?

My Nurse Prac, told me if you aren't getting enough protein, your legs can get swollen too. That happens to me, as I still have issues getting in all my protein. So I still get some swelling daily.

  15. So the day of my surgery they almost didn't do it because my sugar was 73. I did exactly what they told me to the two weeks prior to my surgery. She came over to me and said your chart is incorrect it says you have type 2 diabetes not type 1. I simply stared at her and waited because I was sure she had a point. Then she just walked away. Anyways after my surgery my sugar was ridiculously high. It was 199 WTF!

Blood sugars usually always spike after a surgery. I wouldn't worry too much, soon enough they will normalize. My diabetes is in remission, it has been from a week after surgery.

  20. Had a rough day yesterday. As most of you know I recently had cervical spinal fusion via my throat. It has been very hard to eat or drink for 2.5 weeks now. Apparently my heart rate has been very low and I let myself get dehydrated. Well, I stood up yesterday took a step and woke up on the floor. Not a good thing for someone in a neckbrace with 3 new fusions. Ugh! Spent the day in the er getting fluids. Now they want me to see a cardiologist because of my unexplained low heart rate and over 51 age. My heart rate did not improve even after I was rehydrated. Luckily I was wearing my brace and other than being sore, I feel a little better today. I am thankful that I did not really cause a huge problem. Moral of the story, don't let yourself get dehydrated no matter what! And how did your Saturday go!

  21. My A1c in March was 9.2 Today it is 6.1 almost one month after surgery! 27 lbs lost since surgery, and 48 lbs lost since I started the program. No more diabetes meds or insulins. My lipitor and HBP meds were reduced too. WOW!

  23. Today is my first day back at work. Doing pretty good, kind of tired and a little sore still on the left but I have a desk job so I'm doing ok. I really haven't had any problems at all! Still on liquids, go to soft diet on Monday!

Congrats, back at work! You go from liquids to soft? I had to go from liquids to pureed diet to soft diet. I'm still partially on pureed diet, taking the leap into soft diet veryyyyy slowly. Good luck with everything!

  24. my fav food tasted like blah. when I went on a food binge carrot cake and snowballs were my choice of feel better meds so since I am almost to the surgery I thought I would have a little party for myself I discovered I went to the rasberries first then went to the goodie shelf. long story short only the milk tasted good the rest had no flavor. so next time I will stick to my berries. I wonder if I would have felt I had to do this to myself because my dieticion is against wls. she said I am becoming to restrictive in my choice of food. I am not on a diet I AM ON A LIVEIT thanks for lendining an ear
