IMHO it depends on the kid. Some are more responsible than others. But, I don't think I would leave my DD alone at the age of 10. Maybe 12 or more. Heck.... maybe when she's in college
  2. Congratulations Shontel. See you and Dana in band land
  3. I just got done eating some, no kidding. I buy Campbells Selects...love it !! It kept me sane during the liquid stage / mushie stage. Whats really good is Acorn Squash. Cut in half, take out the seeds and stringy part. Bake upside down on a cookie sheet 350 degrees for one hour. When its done scoop it out and you can add salt or butter to it. Mash it up and viola! Its out of this world.
  4. I REALLY suck at joining these things, but I'll try AGAIN!! Starting weight: 226
  5. Good Morning, Anne, your brunch sounds delicious mmmm what time should I be there? Sherry, I love your avitar. Its about time you let folks see how pretty you are. Congrats on the looser shirts. I have the same problem, my spare tire makes everything fit so weird. Well we'll get there won't we. Wings and nacho's mmmmmmm glad you enjoyed them. Thats the very reason I got the band and not bypass was b/c I wanted to be able to enjoy EVERYTHING but not alot of it. I cant imagine not being able to taste food of any sort. Its gloomy out today so its perfect for getting my cleaning done. Tonight we're going to watch The Lion, Witch & Wardrobe...can't wait. You know I have the movie The Passion and I still have not seen it. I bought it when it came out 2 years ago but I'm so afraid to watch it. From all that I heard it is really brutal and I just can't stomach to see how Christ was really beaten and abused. It just breaks my heart and makes me sick. I'm going to try to watch it because I think I really need it. My relationship with the Lord is lacking these days. I do pray, I do believe with all my heart, its just that I need to be closer if you know what I mean. Okay....off soap box. I'm still on liquids but I think tonight I'll have some thick soup/mushy food. Not only is my belly growling but my intestins are starting to sing along with it. Watcha all doing today?
  6. I would hold off on the greens for now. Add them in when you are on regular food which is what? next week? Enjoy your tuna salad..... I remember it was like heaven after no real food for 4 weeks. Hugs
  7. I know the practice has alot of experience with gastric but I'm coming to realize that they are relatively new with the band (maybe 2 years). They are great surgeons but lack BIG TIME knowledge about what happens after the band is in place. I suspect no one has ever brought this issue up to them because most likely they don't have the knowledge and support that we get here..... basically the just don't know. There was this woman sitting in the waiting room while I was drinking my Water that was banded one week ago. She asked me if I thought the doctor would give her a fill that day b/c she was so hungry. So you see.... people just don't have the knowledge about their bands either. They say WE should go to support groups hmmmmmmmmmmm. I think we should all challenge our doctors with off the wall questions (off the wall to them that is).
  8. HAAAAAAAAAAAA ROFLMFAO !!!!!!!!!!!! YA NUT!!!! Easter dinner ahhhhhhhhh I can taste it now. I'm making a delicious honey baked spiral ham, mashed taters, this veggies casserole dish, mushroom gravy, and I'm buying the dessert...not sure yet. I will most likely make spinach dip for picking on b/4 dinner. So in short... nothing healthy. My sister and her kids, mom, and some friends are coming for dinner. How about you ? watcha making...... All of you's watcha cookin next week?
  9. I miss my carbonation every one in a while..... Fear has kept me away.

You might want to get some Triple Antibiotic in the pharmacy or grocery store until you can get to a doctor. It doesn't look good to me either Trish. Let us know huh and don't wait !! Hugs
  13. I like throwing them a curv-ball every now and then But really, when you think about it...... its a shame that they don't know what the hell they are talking about and its a shame that they don't get more involved with patients. Knuckleheads. Thank God I have this place. Now let me go figure out my issues with dinner *rolling eyes*
  14. I brought it up to my doctor because I have read over and over again about people being able to eat bigger amounts at night (more so than during the day). I was quite surprised at his reaction too. Thanks everyone for the reassurance that I'm not "totally" nuts
  15. He was very nice and seemed conserned.
  16. Well this may be true but......... I went for my 3rd fill today. I told my doctor that in the morning and lunch time I eat less than dinner and that it feels like the flood gates lift at dinner time. He gave me a look like I had a big zit at the end of my nose. I shrugged my shoulders and said "what?" is this a mental issue or does this happen, can the band be looser at night. He said its definitely mental and I need to figure out what my issues were and why I eat more at night. Those of you who experience the same thing..... do you think its mental? .
  17. Welcome and congratulations
