  1. hang in there. from what i have read, and talking to a friend of mine - you will begin to feel like your old self in another day or two.
  2. I know how you feel. I live alone in my state too. Well, I have my five year old. I too came here for work and I too have decided to get lap band surgery for myself. I hope that you are not really having it so that you can be a good role model. I hope you are doing it for YOU. I want to be a good role model for my child. I want to model good health and all that stuff. I want to make sure I'm here for her, but I also want to do this just for me. I want to feel better, look better, dress better, switch my butt better . I want to be happy. Do this for yourself. And don't worry, you are not alone. We are here with and for you. :ranger::ranger::ranger::ranger::ranger::ranger::ranger:Take care.

what are you saying when people ask about the change? are you telling them the truth or are you fudging it? Its a personal thing, yet people have no problem asking. since you are in the public eye - i know they will ask. how will you handle it? anyway, congratulations. i can't wait for my turn to get here.

yeah i believe in food addictions. i have one. i will eat to the point of misery even when i am not hungry. that makes me nervous about the band. but i guess we all have remeber that it is just a tool. i have not been banded yet, but i am going to try to work on some self issues before i do. - i hope.
  5. tuna fish huh? you were feeling brave (or really hungry) i see. i am so glad tht i found this site. i get to read about other people's trails and erors before i get started. i know this is gonna be very helpful to me when i get banded.
  6. wow. hell after reading Secreststolen i'm not even angry anymore.
  7. so how is getting back to work? I hope it went well. you're right - a little make up can do wonders for your looks and your attitude. men don't know what they are missing - not that i want then in makeup!
  8. you may be dealing with a pcp that doesn't like the idea of wls. go to the office and stand there and wait for a copy of your records. they won't like it, but you will get what you need. or you could go the long route and switch pcp's. they have to give a copy of your records then. but i would use that as a last resort. just go there and tell them you will wait. then hustle your rear over to a library or your job or whever there is a fax machine and fax it in yourself - or better yet - drive it over and hand deliver it to your surgeon's nurse. on another note, i think a five year history is ridiculous. that's just Aetna's way of avoiding paying for the surgery. heck i wonder how many people age out before they reach the five year mark or how many people just give up. that really sucks and they know it. I'm glad you got yor five years. now remember that most pcp's work more for the insurance companies than they do for their patients. if you want something and you are entitled to it - fight for it. go stand in the office. be polite, but be firm - let them you know will wait - all day if necessary. Good luck to you.
  9. if your surgery is not performed in a hospital, then where is it performed? i hope this doesn't appear to be rude or nosey. i am simply curious.
  10. wow. lotta will power.
  11. i know how you feel. i should have stared this earlier too. i'm waiting to hear if i got approved. the waiting is awful. some days i'm hopeful -other days i'm nervous. i should know something within two - three days. that will be two weeks after submission for approval. seems like an eternity. fortunately i am moving so i have alot of other things to concerntrate on.
  12. well you got banded today. how the heck are ya?
  13. search for a member named DrWatkins. he posts on several threads. his information appears to be good - and its free. he has a web site - he only does lap band according to his site. its worth a try. like he always ends - i hope this helps....
  14. congrats. that's amazing progress. do you know why some bands are 4cc and others are 10cc? i never knew there was a difference in band sizes.

why don't you plan for a trip. give yourself something to look forward to. maybe not somewhere as expensive as Hawaii, but soemwhere you can have fun. My family is going to Orlando this summer. My goal is to be able to wear something that I iwon't sweat too much in and to be able to walk with my daughter all over Disney World. If I can do those4 two things - especially the second - then I will be soooo happy. So - what can you plan that will make you happy?
  20. its ok to slip. just don't give up. who wouldn't eat chocolate chip cookies? at least one! hang in there - and listen to carol - she is sooo right.
  21. I can't wait to read about tomorrow. That's surgery - rebirth day right? Good Luck to you.
  22. my hands are raised...good luck to you!!!!

I have not been banded yet, but I have a friend that has. she sometimes get frustrated too. i guess we're all just different. if you need more fill, then get more fill. I don't think it helps to compar yourself to others. just do what is comfortable and works for you. i read one story in here where a woman lost over 100 pounds before she received her first fill. Good for her. When I get my chance, I'm going for my fills based on what I need. You need to do you - nobody else. Keep giving yourself those affirmations. You will do it - you're right - nobody and nothing can stop you. Safe Journey.

I have not been banded yet. My info has been submitted to the insurance company. I'm waiting. It was submitted last week Wednesday - That was six reg. days and four business days ago. They it normally takes about two weeks to get an answer. I hope I can survive the wait. I used to be 36. I'm not anymore. I have a five year old. I want to be alive while she grows up. I want to enjoy my life with her. I want her to be proud to say to her friends, "That's my mommy." she is now, but she's five. I wonder if she would feel the same if she were sixteen.
