I had my appointment yesterday! Pass with flying colors. I had to complete new patient paperwork which included a questionnaire. There isn't nothing to be concerned about . As long as you're prepared for this lifestyle change and longevity process. He asked me did I have support from family, my current living situation, any stress or major factors happening in my life right now, how long I thought about having the surgery and why do I want it? So good luck to you all! ????

Hi I am new as well. I just had my visit with Primary Doctor and he is on my side regarding having this surgery. I have my initial consultation with my surgeon sept 2. In the mean while, I have to get a endoscopy, ultrasound on my gallbladder , knee xray , and sleep apnea testing. My bmi is 39.7 .. I would love to continue to correspond with you guys as well. Take care

Congrats! I am 32 and 7 months post op. I am down 93lbs. I am not a smoker but with my surgeon it was mandatory to quit prior to surgery. My Surg date was 12-12-14 so right in the middle of the holidays. This was hard for me. Not because I wanted the food but because everything we did was geared around food. I did start feeling depressed. Fortunately I have a very good and understanding husband to support me. You will always have judgmental people that will try and convince you not to do it or later on that you should have tried a little harder before the surgery. But just remember that we made the choice to do what we did because we truly knew it was the best choice for us. And that is all that matters. Hold your head high and keep fighting. You still fight the battle just from a different angle. Good luck!
