  1. Thanks lunamiah. Congrats on getting your date. That happens to be my birthday, also. This morning is going well. I still have to get up out of the bed gingerly and no real tossing and turning while sleeping. I still have the burning sensation at the upper incision when I move too quickly, it's not unbearable but it is there. I went to KMart and to the grocery store on yesterday. No problems with the walking. My DH joked that now he can walk faster than me. I told him only until I am fully healed. While it's sunny out today, I may just go out and walk around the yard. Again, Good Luck to ya..Keep posting.
  2. Sashay02 Sit back, let loose and enjoy your journey. What area of nursing are you in? Two people on my surgical team were bandsters and the conversations that we had really helped. Email me if you want to talk. I'm in nursing school right now myself. I will be in Sunny San diego in August for the Nursing Convention.
  3. FroggieD...the prayers are already going up for ya. Well wishes and the best of luck to ya for a speedy and uneventful recovery..16 lbs wow:thumbup:, your are already miles ahead.
  4. That is great news. We will probably get a chance to meet at the support group meetings. Dr Bagnato is wonderful. Congrats on getting your date and best of luck to ya....
  5. Good Morning Everybody... Mamasugar, I am so glad to hear that your surg went well, congrats to ya. Marsmom it's great seeing you posting. This is wonderful bunch of bunnies.. This morning my incisions are bothersome, on the pain about a 3. DH keeps telling that I don't have to be hero. I have to move around b/c the activity believe it or not makes me feel better. Also, I am tring to make a ticker, will some walk me through it? Have a great day everone.
  6. Well only half of the laundry got done. We did go to the 4:45 showing of Why Did I Get Married. Then over to Wally World. By then I was ready to come home. I just polished of a half cup of SF Jello. I'm just a little tired. My Hernia was pretty large also. My surgeon gave me a picture of it. I think that I'll just rest for the remainder of this evening. How is everyone doing?? Mamasugar?
  7. OK, I'll move my post over there. That was a great idea. I am feeling pretty good right now. How about you? i am about to do DH laundry since he is going back on the road on Sunday....I'll be on my own then. Much love to everyone being banded today..
  8. Hey ethelinga....Congrats on the 110 lb lost. Hopefully we will get to meet up at the support group. I was banded yesterday and Dr B repaired my hernia at the same time. I am feeling really good. The whole team was wonderful. My experience was quick. I was at the hospital by 6:15a and home by 1 pm. Well I going to do a lap or two around the house.
  9. That is great that your soror is helping. The family out of town is a good thing that gives you so much time to focus on you...I'll be praying for ya. See ya on the losing side..
  10. GNC pro performance powder vanilla flavor. You can mix anything in with it. Decent taste. They make chocolate but it doesn't mix well with fruits.
  11. Thanks everybody...Right now my actual pain level is about 2-3 on pain scale of 1-10. I have not sipped on any Lortab in about 5 hours. I did notice that when I sit in the lounge chair no shoulder twinges. I got into the bed at around 8 pm and it was difficult getting comfortable..Not sure if I'll sleep in the chair or bed.. As far as hunger, I am not hungry just majorly thirsty. I have had lots of tea, 4 SF popsicles, Water, Powerade zero, 1 Protein shot (clear), 1/2 cup Jello. I have been walking around the house (mall style) every 2 hours. Throat still a little. I may suck on a halls or something. OK, DH has been a dream but you all will never guess what he did this afternoon. He baked a Mrs Smith's pumpkin pie. Had the entire house smelling absolutely devine...He was not thinking when that occurred, ya think? Ok..I am going to relax again. Any suggestions will be welcomed..Thanks for the questions and well wishes..

  17. Praying for you and we'll see ya on the losing side. My surg is Thurs and I'm nervous as all get out, too. You are not alone...
  18. Thanks Froggie D.... 3 more days and I am officially nervous now. The butterflies in my stomach are real..Mypreop diet has been going really well. I am down 8lbs. Yay!! I can't get any work done b/c I keep watching wls vlogs.. Truly everyone is so different. My biggest worries is recovery since I am a little older. Hopefully, I will be able to get up and move around, lying still is not one of my best activities. The band is coming just in time for my birthday 4/9...
  19. Thanks Paragirl..I know that I need to calm down, all of a sudden my nerves are getting worked up. Iwas thinking of getting the Sketcher's too. Since starting the preop diet 8 lbs are gone. yay.
  20. Yeah the esophageal erosion has been a concern of mine also. The meeting times are posted on Dr. B's website. Sugar Buster diet is not that bad, but I'm going to do the last couple days with just clear liquids just to be safe. Maybe someone with more experience will chime in...Good Luck to everybody.
  21. Best wishes to you also, Lori in Spokane. I am in the preop diet right now, too. I started last Thurs, wow it's been a week. Not too bad as my surgeon requires Sugar Busters for two weeks. Keep posting...
  22. Congrats on the date Ravyn.....
  23. Kewl...we will have to keep in touch....Good Luck to you, also...
  24. Hi Everybody...I am set up for April 1st with Dr Bagnato. I am 6 days into my 2 week Sugar Buster's Diet. This surgeon doesn't require the 2 weeks of liquids. Saturday, I will start clear liquids anyway just to be on the safe side. Need that liver to shrink so that the view is clear. Sometimes I still don't believe it's actually going to happen...woohoo
  25. That sounds like a plan....Do you exercise at all? I just had my preop work done Thurs for my April 1st date. Any words of wisdom? My biggest concern is going home on the same day as the surg but all of the staff says I'll be fine. How did you feel about going home on the same day as surg?
