  1. Congratulations @@stevedallas!
  2. Cute! @@jessiquoi you will do great! You know you have this! Good luck : ) Summer
  3. JenSul I have done the same thing - then I have to spend the 2-3 days prior to my doctor's appointment watching everything that goes into my mouth so I can at least show a 1 pound loss for the month. I think it has something to do with our emotions - like eat it all now because after surgery you won't be able to eat any if this stuff (even though we know down the road we will be able to eat anything we want to in moderation). I am trying to reign it in and some days I have more luck than others. Good luck . Summer
  4. You can do it! Just keep your eyes on the prize girl you can do this. You are already losing so keep i'm doing what you're doing. Good luck! Summer
  5. Good luck! I hope they give you an approval super fast. I know the waiting is probably one of the worst parts of this whole process. Summer
  6. I have not had surgery yet but I wanted to tell you how awesome you have done. You look perfectly beautiful Summer
  7. My husband got me a Nike Fuelband earlier this year and I like it. I do not know how accurate it is but it tells me how many calories I have burned, how many steps I have taken, how much Nike Fuel I have burned and motivates me to up my fuel level every other week or so. It will tell me how many hours in each day I was active for at least 5 minutes of an hour and it will give me Move Reminders (I don't use this feature). It connects with my iphone and on my laptop/ipad. I think you really can't go wrong with most of them as they are motivators to keep you focused on how much you move each day! Good luck with your decision Summer
  8. Haha! Too cute LipstickLady
  9. Congratulations! I can only imagine how excited/scared you are right now. I hope you have a quick and uneventful surgery and recovery : ) Summer
  10. Good luck! All insurance should cover WLS as it is a treatment for the disease of obesity. I am sorry yours does not pay.
  11. That is awesome! Sounds like he is doing very well. Congratulations and I hope everything continues to go well. Summer
  12. My surgeon said he doesn't use drains
  13. I will have my surgery in October I hope. My surgeon is not requiring me to do a pre-op diet. So you should check with your surgeons office to see what they require for you. Good luck! Summer
  14. It's getting very real and exciting, isn't it? Good luck on the rest of your appointments. Surgery day will be here before we know it! Summer
  15. Lol! Tape her to the ceiling fan!!! Post pics if you do this. Thanks I needed a laugh this morning!
  16. Just think ahead to the future where you will be the skinny girl in the skinny gym That will be an awesome feeling! Summer
  17. You just gotta love moms! I am one myself and I hope that my children will always feel comfortable telling me whatever they want to tell me but I have to tell you that I am not telling my mother that I am going to have WLS. I don't want to worry her but more than that I don't want to listen to "the talk" about eating less, eating healthier, and exercising more. So I will have my sleeve done and then I will follow all that good advice that I just know she was going to give me
  18. Me! I do too! I just had my first visit with my surgeon today. I have to make myself do my everyday stuff and not spend every waking moment on here or researching WLS. I love reading everyone's posts and stories. Makes me feel like I am not so alone. Every step that I make that takes my closer to a surgery date is so exciting. I just can't wait until I have the surgery and can stop obsessing over it Summer
  19. Congratulations on getting started on a healthier you. I am about halfway through the process and hoping for surgery in October. I really just wanted to say good luck Summer
  20. wow! That is awesome. I hope you are doing the happy dance while you are wearing those size 10 jeans!! Congratulations! Summer
  21. Ok I met with my surgeon today and I asked about this and was told I only have to do a visit to my PCP once a month for 5 months! This is good news Thanks for your replies! Summer
  22. I met my surgeon for the first time today. My husband and I both really like him. He asked which procedure I was interested in and I told him I was leaning towards the sleeve and he agreed that this was a good choice for me. He spent all the time we needed answering questions and explaining things. His office will contact me tomorrow to set up an appointment for an EGD. My patient advocate came in and talked to us after the surgeon left. I have to finish up my 5 month medically supervised weight loss (next week is visit #4 and visit #5 is October 16) and then they will submit to insurance for approval! PA said that my insurance company takes about a week to approve. After approval they will call me to set up a surgery date, which could be within the next 1-2 weeks (as I won't have to do do a pre-op diet). So conceivably I could be having my surgery by October 6! This has been a good day Hope everyone else out there is doing well today! Summer
  23. Thanks Texaskady52! I am going to check this out.
  24. Congratulations! I hope your recovery continues to be problem free : ) Summer
