  2. Good luck! I hope you have a quick and uneventful surgery and recovery : ) Summer
  3. I grew up in a home with very similar eating habits. I can remember many nights sitting at the table until bedtime because I had to eat all the food on my plate before I could be excused...and we wonder how we got to where we are today... That's an amazing accomplishment on your part and should be a great help to your weight loss and peace of mind Summer
  4. Most everyone has a bad day here and there. Just acknowledge it and move on! One mistake doesn't make you a failure. You've got this Summer
  5. Wow! You have done Awesome!!!! I hope your stall passes quickly! I can't imagine how frustrating stalling is. You look great tho Summer
  6. Good luck! It might seem like 2 of the longest weeks of your life but looking back it will just be a blip on the screen of your life. So exciting to be 2 weeks away from your surgery. You can do this! Summer
  7. Blackie220 you look great (and you don't look 40 at all)! Congratulations! Summer
  8. Good luck JDillon! You must be so excited! I hope you have a quick and easy recovery. Summer
  9. Thanks! I just want to rush right though this part. I am so ready for the next step in this process. I am meeting with the surgeon tomorrow so I am super excited about that! Thanks again to everyone who responded. Summer
  10. I was underweight growing up. I blame it all on my 3 pregnancies lol. I started gaining weight with my first pregnancy and didn't lose enough before my 2nd pregnancy...then unexpectedly but excitedly discovered that I was pregnant with my 3rd child. With 3 little kids, working full time, and a home to care for I think I just put me and my needs on the back burner. I don't think, for the most part, that laziness had anything to do with it There are as many reasons as there are people I suppose. I just pray that this is the right tool for me and for everyone else out there contemplating WLS and those of you have already chosen this route. Summer
  11. Just want to welcome you to the forums! The people here are kind and very helpful. Good luck on your journey : ) Summer
  12. Congratulations! Only 9 more pounds! Awesome job
  13. This is awesome and I am so happy I read this. I do not know when I will be having surgery but this is something I can start working on now! Thanks so much for this article. Summer
  14. I have no enlightenment for you but I do wish you the very best on your journey! Good luck and hang in there! Summer
  15. What an inspirational journey. Thanks for sharing. Stories like this reinforce my decision to have WLS. Congratulations on your successes thus far! Summer
  16. I agree with what @@jessiquoi said. Even though I have not had surgery yet I have been on enough diets in my lifetime to know that you just have to get back on the horse. Don't beat yourself up as it doesn't solve anything and only makes you feel worse and then you eat more - its a vicious cycle that needs to be stopped. Yesterday is over and this is a new day so just start again : ) Good luck! Summer
  17. Awesome! You have a lot to be proud of. I hope someday I can be where you are now : ) Congratulations!
  18. Wow. That is very interesting. It's amazing the impact that our illnesses have on the different areas of our body.
  19. Is there a DVD out there that you would recommend for completely new yogi wannabe (sp?)? I would love to be able to do something other than walking the dog or walking on the treadmill. I am not sure when my surgery is going to be but I would love to start some form of exercise soon. I am in my early 50's and am not very coordinated when it comes to exercising lol. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. Summer
  20. I love love love looking at before and after pics ~ they are inspirational! The thing that moves me the most though is the after pics, look at the eyes and the smiles. You can see how much happier everyone is. Thank you all for sharing! Summer
  21. The other thing that would worry me (like you don't already have enough on your mind) is that if you can't get an appointment to see him pre-surgery will you be able to get an appointment post-surgery if you have problems? I hope you get everything sorted out so that you are confident in your decision. Good luck! I wish you the best. Summer
  22. @@tabithacool66 only 10 days to go! Wow, that must be so exciting and scary at the same time. Good luck!
