3.
Everyone gets down now and then. don't forget your body has been through surgery. There is stuff in there that needs to come out....your also somewhat swollen and feeling tired. It will pass as you start to regain your strength. Then as the weight starts coming off you will really start to be happier.

Robin Williams that is just sad. I have felt bad since I read it as well. It really makes a statement about depression in my books. Will miss the funny man!

Time will make all things better. But we will always experience happiness and sadness. It is part of the human condition!

    RJ ,

. I know it's normal I'm just used to being happy especially when there's no reason to be down. You're right it's just an overall mixture of things and I am sure I will be fine.

    Thanks for your response,

  4. Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone experienced sadness after surgery. I had been fine (except for Monday when I freaked about port placement). Yet today I woke up and I feel extremely sad. Like I was watching a video on the death of Robin Williams and although Jumanji and Mrs. Doubtfire were two of my favorite movies I usually wouldn't have cried over this. But I cried and have just been having these really sad thoughts about being 25 and having wasted my years being overweight. I also keep thinking of all of the foods that I want to eat but I have been very strict with sticking to my liquid diet (except a cup of popcorn that I had Sunday). I am a week out of surgery but I am just not feeling any different. Anyways, this isn't therapy lol. I was just wondering if anyone else felt sad after surgery.... And what did you do ?

    Feeling blue,

  5. Hi! My name is Katie and I live near St. Louis, Mo. I had my lap band surgery on July 25, 2014 and am currently on the "mushy" foods phase of my journey. I am tracking my food and exercise on the My Fitness Pro app. and I need a little more accountability and support. I need a buddy! Anyone willing?! Thanks!

    Hey Katie!

I totally get what your say I had lapband Aug 5th. I am still in liquids until Friday but I am so scared to progress to actual foods since I might fall off the wagon! Send me a message I would love to have a buddy in the same boat!

  6. Hi everyone,

I'm really sad and freaking out. I was just able to feel my port without really having to press down much. I'm afraid my port was placed too high and you will be able to see it even at such an early stage in my weight loss ( surgery 1 week ago). I've been crying all morning is this really my port I'm feeling? Is this normal ? My sister has lap band And she has to press down two or three inches to feel her port :(

Hey! I was banded on Aug 5th... I move on to the next stage 10 days post op which would be this Friday. I know the feeling of thinking you've made a mistake! I was reading tons of posts about all the complications and started upsetting myself. I got over that QUICK when I thought of staying the same size! Now let's talk about this 20 pounds.... GOOOOOO YOU!! If you are staying hydrated and getting all your Protein in I don't see how that could be an issue. However, if you're still concerned give your surgeon a quick call. Best of luck doll

Get the gas ex strips they honestly were a saving grace for me. Yes surgery is something you are obviously going to bd nervous about but honestly within a week you will feel at about 60% for having had surgery that's pretty darn good! Also make sure you stay very hydrated the night before surgery it will help you fir recovery. My sister has her band and she gave me that advice and age was so right ! I am new to this but if you have any other questions plz don't hesitate to ask me!
