  1. Great job, how long has it been? You look fantastic!
  2. I am still in the pre op phase but I went in to the surgeons office hoping to get the sleeve and found out that my insurance doesn't cover it. I was upset and even considered waiting until they cover in in a few years. Then I started reading on websites.... Including this one and realized quickly the the sleeper might not be the best choice. I don't have GERD or reflux but I do have diabetes and high Bp. I am very confident in my choice to go with the bypass vs. the lap and for sure but now I am very happy that I can't get the sleeve. I am hoping to have surgery in Sept.... I can't wait to start this new healthy journey.
  3. 10. Shop and know I will fit into the regular sized clothes. 9. Take group pics w/out hiding in the back 8. Take family photos that I will be happy to display 7. Go to the beach and feel sexy 6. Workout at the gym w/o cringing at what I see in the mirrored covered walls. 5. Go to a water park with confidence 4. No be the fat friend in the group anymore 3. Try out paddle boarding, surfing and snorkeling. 2. Go on that honeymoon after 18 years of marriage 1. Have my husband actually desire me.
  4. I am on an iPad and I don't know how to add friends on here. Feel free to add me if you want. I'm on the east coast but I am usually up late and always feeling chatty. Lol
  5. I couldn't imagine having to wait that long. My insurance only requires 3 months... And that has been long enough.
  6. Good luck.... Are you nervous or anxious?
  7. Where did you order your samples from?
  8. I am also new to this..... I am on this site every night trying to take in all the info I can. I don't have a surgery date yet but my last nutrition visit is on the 25th and hopefully things go quickly after that.
  9. Congrats, you look awesome! Great job.
  10. I'm going through the same thing right now. I am on my last nutrition visit at the end of the month. I hope it's not long after that. I didn't think I ate a lot of carbs but those things that don't seem like a carb.... That's the worst. Bananas have about 40 grams.... I use to eat one per day.
  11. That's awesome... Makes a huge difference when you are comfortable with the doctor/office.
  12. At this point, I don't have any intentions of telling people I I am having/had surgery. If I had a labiaplasty I wouldn't tell people so why does this have to be any different? I told my husband but so far, that's all.
  13. I have one nutrition visit left at the end of Aug and then I see the surgeon.
  14. I'm tricare south... They gave me my initial referral to the surgeons office for 4 visits.... Which included the nutritionist. The office is very well versed in tricare speak apparently, so they are pretty certain mine won't be an issue.
  15. I'm also pretty new to this. I have gone to a seminar, had my initial consult with the surgeon, psych eval, pcp labs/letter and 3 nutritionist apps. I have my last appt with the nutritionist the end of August and then I see the doc again to get things moving. Feels like it has already been forever.
  16. The waiting sucks but just remember that you are not alone and it's well worth the wait.
