235.4, thanks

Today I got on the scale and it said 242. I've officially lost 100 lbs. I feel so good and it seemed like it took forever.
I started this journey at 342 lbs, surgery date 4/8/15 and now 8 months later I'm at 242. I still have 62 lbs till I get to my doctors goal of 180 lbs, but I'm gonna listen to what you all said from my earlier post and stick to the plan...Oh yeah, and today I also got a NSV to share. I went to pump gas this morning on my way to work and this guy pulled up next to me and said, "Hey, Gorgeous!" Wow it has been years since a man has actually noticed me...I didn't know what to say so I just gave an awkward wave and he drove off...I felt so embarrassed but blushing at the same time.
So I got a scale victory and a NSV!!! Woohoo!!!

Wow! You are beautiful, excellent job. I understand about feeling awkward with the attention from men. My advice is to take it slow because I'm sure you will get much more. I hope you find someone who values you more on the inside than the outside... It is possible but enjoy this transformational journey.

Lol technology is a funny thing. I was just sitting here one day. Body hocus pocus,and while you're under you are being hypnotized to feel the effects of a smaller tummy....or seeing x-rays the way they want you to see them...LOL!!! Sounds good enough for a movie idea!!!

You're talking about the placebo effect. It's well documented when it comes to pills and other treatments but in the USA they've never done studies with sham surgeries. They have in some European countries - exactly the way you described it.

What the heck are you smoking?? LOL.
Seriously though, that idea can really blow your mind if you think about it. I mean, our minds really are a powerful thing. Who's to say it can't be "tricked" into thinking we have smaller stomachs and to get full quicker?
There's a place that advertises on TV here called Positive Changes. Basically they hypnotise you into seeing food differently and stop cravings to eat healthier. The (supposed) real people on the commercials swear it works.
I believe this surgery is mostly the power of mind over matter anyway. Whether we have the physical symptoms of fullness or not.

What if this whole time we never got a sleeve or bypass done to our bodies? Meaning, we are put under, few incisions are made, but nothing has been done to our insides? Our minds are tricked into thinking that our stomachs are smaller but in fact they are still completely in tact? We can't obviously check our insides to confirm what was done to us. So where is the proof??? Just saying.

We had 124 people complete this challenge and lost a total of 1353.2 pounds! We had 11 people lose over 10%, which is absolutely incredible! @@Amberina lost the most with 14.14%. We had 33 people reach their goal weight, which I think is pretty awesome considering the time of year it was!

Sorry last week I was at 240, and this week I'm 237.6. Hope I can reach goal by 12/31????

Sleeved now 2 years and s/p lower body lift 7/2015????. Maintaining well.

i lost a total of 99 lbs. I still have 63 lbs to goal.

And although a few days late on this...STAY away from the scale during your TOM. It is a time of major fluctuation.
Glad you are getting back on track and congrats on your loss thus far.
