Chest pain running to back anyone else ever have?
So here I am 4.5 months post op and I started having chest pains about two weeks ago. I was hospitalized in the ER for two days while they ran test to rule out heart issues. Which they did. then i went home and for a week felt great, then it came back with a vengeance. So now though i have a cause and effect. Eating whenever i eat or even drink to some extent, this pain comes back. it radiates just under where my heart is . ( which is why we had to rule out cardiac. It throbs but does not increase with inspiration or expiration. So my surgeon is setting up a cat scan for tomorrow, and we shal see. thankfully i dont have any fever or localized tenderness or anything that would indicate a leak. Im hoping for some erosion of the esophagus perhaps, or something like that. So my question is, anyone else dealt with something like this, this far post op? And no its certainly not heartburn or gerd. lol I wish.

The ultimate battle RNY vs lap band vs sleeve?
put simply the best advice on this is no advice. you have to find what will work for you. For me it was simply a lot of what has been restated i didn't want my digestive tract rerouted, i didn't want the higher risk of dumping syndrome etc. I eliminated the band based on complications and the fact i couldn't get past the implant part of things and also did not want to make a change that is only temporary and could easily be reversed. I needed that stability of knowing i could sabotage myself simply by having the change undone. But as I have said, these are all personal choices, you have to make them for yourself. Good luck with whatever you decide, its not a contest or battle, its all about you.

35% off on Nature's Bounty Protein Shake 16 oz.
i dunno the way i look at it, you get all those Vitamins and minerals from a decent Multivitamin anyway. you cant process that much b vitamins from both a multivitamin and shakes so its kind of overkill i guess. i have my own standards, though, so im not saying what to do by any means. But i really go with what tastes good to me and is easy to use since i supplement my um supplements with vitamins etc. ENjoy!

yeah trust me i thought i was super hungry, turns out its just you getting used to your new stomach and vice versa, youll get what feels like hunger pangs etc, but its just the trauma to the stomach and stomach acid. It took me about 2 weeks for mine to really go away, but go away it will.

So id like to share with you, how much you can change.
i think it was a blast seeing the pounds fall off at first , kind of like a novelty, then you get used to the losing and truly want to eat like a normal human lol, but then you really get into making the changes, and seeing what you can accomplish, so man its such a roller coaster,

Can sudden Edema delay or cancel WLS?
well, leg edema or just general edema, if you get pulmonary edema, it sure can, because that a huge risk during intubation. if its leg based they can adjust for that with some meds make you pee it out a bit, also raising your legs for long amounts of time can reduce the edema beforehand as well. if you were teds or stockings, make sure you folow as directed.

Oxygen for 4 weeks post op!?
yes most probably a pre existing condition, they probably found during surgery or just after that she had sleep apnea or very low respirations and o2 saturation, which since you can't get a CPAP machine that quickly they put her on O2 as an adjunct to her low o2 saturation.

Can't drink protein shakes! Any other options?
try iso pure ready-made drinks. they aren't shakes, you can get them at many health food places, Vitamin shoppe etc. they are like kool-aid, they can have an after-taste but the black tea with lemon especially is very easy to get down. i also recommend the Syntrax nectars or naturals,

Meds for Plastics post Sleeve
please do what canyonbaby says, no one here is a doctor , just because you have had a procedure does not make them somehow an authority on it. If the surgeon says draw circles on your forehead with crayons, then do it. On a side note , a surgeon who gives out untested food supplements is someone I would stay away from. Considering it could conceivably cost them their license to practice. Doctors are not allowed by FDA to give out supplements in their role as a physician. Many people don't seem to know that. But forearmed is forewarned. Its why doctor oz has to put disclaimers on his websites etc.

Who all did you tell?
i have told and will tell anyone who will listen and even people who wont, well especially people who wont. They are my target . I wrote about this in my blog and share it with everyone on facebook and then some. bartenders know i have had it, waitresses, friends of friends, heck I am not only not ashamed, I am damn proud of it. As you should be, even if only proud of yourself. Its your decision who to tell, I wont get into any of that, its a very touchy subject. But please do not be ashamed of who you are and what youve done, there is no need for it. Good luck and congratualtions.
