    Love your comment, RJ.
Since I've been losing weight after the surgery, my husband never really noticed any change of my body even after losing around 20 lbs (seriously hehe) but today we went shopping for groceries together and he mentioned, wow you walk really faster than before. And for me, that was the best compliment I received. I stopped my meds, my blood pressure is normal, I can move faster! I feel so greatful for the WLS.

I feel you. My husband is a human garbage disposal. He will plow through every bit of food in the fridge and cabinets without a second thought of why it might be there or who it might "belong" to. (My kids have taken to putting post-it notes on certain things so he knows what's earmarked for class parties, teacher gifts, potlucks, etc.)

Right after my surgery I had a huge melt down because all the foods I had specially prepared for my food stages would disappear within hours of me making them. It wasn't pretty. After that, I cleared a cabinet shelf that is just for me along with a fridge drawer. NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO ENTER EITHER. PERIOD. I don't care if the food is rotting into a horrific science fair project, **NO ONE** can touch.

I also bought little round stickers that are different colors (green, yellow, red) and stick them on different items that are mine. Green means fair game, yellow means don't eat the last two and write it on the shopping list, red mean eat at risk of death. It's working.

Hi, I am new to the board, I have an appointment on Tuesday August 5th, 2014. I went to the same bariactric center to see about gastric by pass surgery 10 and 1/2 years ago. I still to today regret not going forward with the surgery, my regular Dr. and my husband were not supportive of me, now my husband is on board, and even if I have to pay out of pocket, I am getting the sleeve done. I just hope my process goes fast, and my insurance pays

I had my first surgeon visit yesterday. (My program does it a little different - exercise class, dietician, psych clearance, then the first surgeon visit) He said my "belly is perfect" for surgery and thinks I will do "fabulous". My goal loss for surgery is 10 pounds, which I have already exceeded. I met with the insurance specialist, who said that I needed to try to get one more visit in so I had 3 months of a supervised program. I pulled out 4 or 5 doctor notes and she said "Never mind, this counts. I'll get everything together and put in for approval." I have my surgical clearance appt scheduled for 8/18 and my 2nd surgeon visit for 9/28 which is when my surgery date will be scheduled.
I'm so glad to finally see things moving forward!!!

Definitely a veteran in the lap band arena! I've had my band for 10 years this October 6th! WOW!!!!! I've done really great and went from 279 lbs to 155 lbs where I stayed for many years. It's an amazing ego boost to look at your old Size 22 pants and realized you are in a Size 8. (yes....was feeling good about myself!)
Two years ago, I went through a horrible divorce and moved halfway across the US. Was under a tremendous amount of stress, worry, you name it....yep that was me! I have gained 45 lbs in the last 2 years. I've decided I will NO LONGER be complacent and am taking control of my life again.
I found a great doctor in my area who has unfilled me, completed an endoscopy, and will be filling my band again this Monday, Aug 4th! I'm committed to staying the course, excerising regularly and taking control of my nutritional needs.
I'm ready for a new, happy and healthy, me!

I didn't go through this but what I was told and what I believe is this is NOT the easy way out. being 3 months post op there is nothing easy about this process. you have to be very calculated in everything you do. Getting the right amount of excercise, eating the right foods and enough of them, taking all of your Vitamins, drinking plenty of Water...it's not the easy way out although some people feel it is.
You will keep the weight off as long as you think through all of your food choices...for instance, physically you can drink chocolate Syrup but can you tell yourself not to? I know crazy exampe but it's the truth...good stuff in, good stuff out. I wish you the very best, Everything will go really great! My life is completely changed for the better and I never had one moment of regret!

I am a hairstylist, and nioxin is a good product to use, you only have to use the Shampoo and conditioner(If needed) the other steps help restore your hair, but the shampoo on a daily basis will help keep your hair from falling out. it will also help regrow your hair if it does fall out. you have to use shampoo everytime you wash your hair, so always use nioxin
