  1. I agree janice , I am down 28 lbs and its 6wks for me. I get on the scale every two weeks, and I don't want to lose too fast just slow and steady. It seems two pounds a week is how my body has been. The thought of saggy skin is something I am trying to avoid if at all possible:)
  2. When you are losing weight that quick your hormones are stored in your fat cells. You lose fat cells and you tend to be emotional or moody. It's quite interesting how our body acts as a coping mechanism to this great big change in our life. I find myself tearing up with things that would never bother me before.
  3. I am going into my fourth week tomorrow. I have first a Water bottle right after I brush my teeth. wait a little then have my Protein drink which is GNC lean 25 grams of protein. Then 2 hours later I usually have a light and fit greek yogurt, 12 grams of protein. lunch I have ounce and a half of chicken fajita with some light sour cream, little salsa and sprinkle some cheddar cheese on top. crystal light ice tea half hour later. 16.8 water bottle size, cheese stick after work. then more water. dinner is usually something chicken or Soup. i average 65 to 70 grams of protein a day.
  4. Almost went for bacon the other day. My husband made a huge breakfast and the smell of the bacon was so tempting. I was like one little piece my husband says no you can't have that remember? I am like oh man I almost forgot, he saved me from that bite. Thank God it was an instinct to just take a piece. close call that was the old me not new sleeved me. thanks for the advice I will stay away to from it.
  5. Hey keeping my secrets, When I was feeling like that in the third day after surgery, I had to go to the er. I was so sick there was no way of getting anything but a little bit of water in me. They hospitalized me and gave me ivs which really made me feel better. I found out from upper gi that I too had a blockage. It was so horrible but after a few days in the hospital they told me it would pass on its own. I also was able to keep the clear liquids down in hospital so they let me go home. I was throwing up so much at home. I couldn't take any medication only by iv at hospital. So glad now I am going into my fourth week and feel so much better. If you don't feel better soon I would go to the hospital that you had surgery and get at least iv with potassium and vitamins. This was the stepping stones I had to take to start to be able to recover properly. Good luck to you, I will never regret going to the er. Ps. did they check you for leaks after the surgery when you got home?
  6. ps, ricotta and marinara, I will be trying that next! Thanks finediva:)
  7. I tried scrambled eggs too, very light and used skim milk to make them wet. My stomach rejected it. I had horrible gas pains felt uncomfortable for two hours. I love eggs but I am two weeks out and I guess its just too soon yet. I am going to try them again next month. Yogurt is something that always agrees with me. So glad I at least have that!
  8. hey lux, did they check you for a blockage? I was vomiting and not able to keep fluids down and they did an upper gi and found that it was a blockage. I was sick for days and went to the er and they put me right in the hospital, gave me ivs that made me feel so much better. They wouldn't let me leave until I was able to keep at least clear broth down. i could get some water in too but nothing else. I feel so much better now, try to walk if you can it helps to keep the body circulating and avoids blood clots. Complications suck! Ps my blockage did finally go away on its own! No ng tube thank God!
  9. Well I have to say I have been on allergy medicine all my life. I haven't had to take one allegra since I have had the surgery. My nose has been clear for two weeks straight. Amazing!
  10. You can have it but it just takes up space in your belly that should be used for protein. Carbs leave us qickly but protein gives us the best building blocks for our body. Thats what my surgeon told me when I asked about mashed potatoes.
  11. congratulations on your weight loss! I was sleeved Sept 25, down 16 lbs in two weeks! I am getting ready to start eggs too. It is scarey but you have to start some where! Good luck to you keep us updated.
  12. Thank you Rogofulm, that was a great article I put it in my favorites!I was sleeved Sept 25, and i haven't been on the scale yet. Tommorow seeing the doctor I am not living by the scale till I am further out of healing. I am thankful to of survived the surgery lol!
  13. I have had diarhea the whole time too. I was sleeved on sept 25, only once a day. I think its because of all the liquids that we eat instead of solid food. I am on full liquids until tomorrow then pureed. So I am thinking it might be better after that. I would rather be loose than constipated. Heres hoping, also if your protein that your taking at one shot is more than 30 grams they say that can cause diahrea. My nutritionist told me that. Good luck to you!
  14. Wow! I am two weeks out from surgery that is exciting!!!congratulations hope that can be me someday:)
  15. I agree with everybody else. I am two weeks out tomorrow and I am on full liquids, next week pureed. I can't imagine fruit yet,i would think thats why your not feeling so good. Creamy soups and put that unflavored protein in it. That's what I do too. I also write down everyday what I am eating and how much protein I am getting in. Water is so important that will slow down bowels all together. Your pipes need water to flush out all that stuff. Get some help from your dietician if you don't have one, look for a support group too.
  16. I am one week today. I can only get two ounces of tomatoe soup down and then have to come back half hour later for the rest. My stomach takes three hours for a protein drink to go down. That is 14 ounces gnc lean shake. So I guess it just depends on how your recovering. I agree all those nerves being cut does something to us. Good luck everybody!
  17. Wow! I work with someone that just loves running in another room to talk about me. She is the biggest back stabber. It's really quite sad for them. People act like they like her but say terrible things about her. The girl I know only has friends face to face but behind her back no one likes her. It's people like that I just want to just act like they don't exist. I am courteous because we have to work together. I can only say she must live a sad life at home with her husband. you guys are right who's next for the gossip chopping block. I just want to stay around positive people. I think she is waiting for me to come back to work to say thats all she lost blah blah blah. Lol I know I am loved and happy on the inside, this girl apparently is not.
  18. Thank you that was a very interesting article! i really thought about a lot of things you said in this! change is scarey but all so good for us.
  19. Hope you have a speedy recovery, my surgery is tomorrow! Can't believe it's here, what a happy and exciting, scarey day!

  22. Welcome I am getting sleeved sept 25, so close can't believe it!
  23. Hey flipper my doctor told me not to be too worried about all the protein shakes and diet right now. He is afraid to that I might be too close to not qualifying if I lose weight. defenitelty two days before only clear liquids so thats good to know. My bmi is 40 as of right now so I am not losing my spot in the operating room for nothing!
  24. Hi i am scheduled for Sept 25, Betternai88, so exciting we will have to keep in touch!
  25. hi flipper I just got my date for the 25 too! I am afraid of leaks too. Ask your doctor if they do the swallow test. You have to drink some stuff before you go home at hospital and they see if you leak. My doctor doesn't do that, they put gas in stomach and see if anything bubbles before you leave operating room. Good luck! friend me we can do this together! Scared but so excited too!
