    in my head I know...

I can relate to this so well!!! Was banded on 12/05 and it has really been hard.... Did not think I would miss eating so much!! Guess that is a sign of a true overeater. Used food to cope and i miss it..... am trying to take it easy on myself... The true denial of using food as a drug has really kicked in, especially since anything I eat or drink hurts. I will continue to take it a day at a time....... Hoping that time will heal as well as heal my need to over eat!!!
  5. I was banded on 12/5 and have been struggling. I have a post op appointment tomorrow and am looking for some advice. The only time I do not have discomfort is when my tum is totally empty. The doc put me on soft foods right from the get go.... in the hospital. (cottage cheese, yogurt etc) Every time I eat....4oz of anything, even drink, I have pain and discomfort. Feels like a big fist in my upper stomach, at the highest incision location. Not sure if it is heart burn, or other issue. I have been taking the medication (protonix) and gas x. I have also been sliming after eating and sometimes just a Protein drink. Like I said.... the only time I am comfortable is when I do not consume anything. I will go over this with surgeon tomorrow altho I would really appreciate some feedback to be prepared for the visit. Thanks in advance!! I have a 10cc band without any filled at surgery time.

    December Post-Op Thread

Hello All!! So happy that everyone is doing so well. I was banded on the 5th. The surgery only took about 30 minutes and doc told my husband that everthing went very well. I had no pain until the second day. Took pain medication for 2 and half days and now just occasional tylenol. I have not gotten much down as it does give me some weird feeling of GURGLE....Kind of nausea, kind of gas...just not sure. Went shopping yesterday and today feeling wonderful....barely any pain. I have not stepped on the scale as I want to hold out for my first Dr appt on 12/20. We will see if I can make it. It is so strange to feel the port. It is right above my waist. My doc used glue for stitches so I can see that they are healing well. Good luck to all!!! It has and will continue to be a journey....

  10. Danna Keep yourself busy busy busy...... :bounce: I am 5 days away and am trying to keep my mind off of it....so I dont get to nervous. Do you have to do a clear liquid day prior to surgery?

Anybody started the pre-op diet yet??

Glad everyone seems to be doing so well on the Pre OP. It has been going okay for me as well. I think it is easier to know that you have limited food choices. I could see it getting old tho. I really like the slim fast optima in vanilla. I have tried several others altho that is my fave. The unjury is okay and has a high Protein content. Has anyone given thought to post op clear liquid phase?? Just wondering what people are buying to prepare for this time?? Count down......6 more days!!!!

Anybody started the pre-op diet yet??

Did you all have to have blood work done within a month of surgery? I had it done for insurance, prior to being approved although they are asking for it again within one month of surgery????? Pro Op is going okay. I am glad that I experimented with some products early as there are certainly some that are yuck!! I ordered unjury (choc, vanilla and chicken soup). Made the mistake of using to hot of Water with the chicken Soup and it clumped up. About made me vomit I found that I am not that hungry... really. Which is a total shocker for me as I am a TRUE binge eater. Glad to hear everyone seems to be doing well!!
  13. It certainly is helpful to know you are not the only one. I tried so hard prior to the actual start of the pre op diet. Just kept failing......:cry Started Pre Op on Wed. of this week and so far so good. I had gained 5 pounds at my last visit to the nurse on Tue. Think it was that last meal syndrome.....:hungry: I bought some unjury Protein supplements. Not sure if it is those or just the fact that surgery is about 11 days away and I am nervous as heck!!! Keep reading awful stories that are scaring me a bit. SOOOOO I plan to try by best to do it by the book. Two weeks pre op for me. Clear liquids the day prior to surgery. Think if we all keep cheering each other on it will help:clap2: Good luck to all
