Jen - a work in progress got a reaction from lovelytrl in Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!
Surgery is tomorrow!!! One more day of work to go. I haven't gotten my arrival time call yet, but at my last appointment I was told to expect to go first around 7:30 or so and be at the hospital around 5-5:30 am. I have to remember to do the preop scrub tonight with the special wipes and repeat in the morning. Oh and to finish packing my bag for my overnight stay.
As the actual day approaches, I'm not really nervous about it anymore. I did learn that my son was pretty nervous. (I'm a single mom with 2 boys - an 8 yr old and a 9 yr old) Yesterday I picked them up from their after school program. As we were walking out of the school I said "I have a 6:30 appt to go to so we need to hurry. You guys can stay home if you want, I shouldn't be long." My oldest son stopped dead in his tracks and turned around and hugged me. I practically tripped over him! Lol. He tried to play it off, but I caught a look of concern on his face. I asked him about it and he admitted he was kind of scared. I told him I would be fine and he can come see me right after school and do homework with me before he goes to football practice. I have had surgeries before, but I don't think any required me to stay overnight (possibly my hysterectomy, but I don't remember). I will have to reassure him again today. I don't want to wake them up super early in the morning before I go, but I think I might need to so he can at least see me and feel ok at school. I have arranged for my mom to stay at my house overnight and keep their normal schedule and routine going. She'll be dropping me off at the hospital and then taking them to school. I promised him I would be home Friday night and be there for their football games on Saturday. He such a great kid Oh and my youngest could apparently care less, he is such a typical boy! Lol!
Best wishes and prayers for those going this week!! To my surgery buddies - see you soon on the post op side!! I'll be starting a thread over there tomorrow to let everyone know how it went for me and see how things went for you.

Honey I'm home.....and sure enough I've got a sleeve. I won't lie and say I feel GREAT (physically) but I feel Fantastic mentally/emotionally. Been home about an hour - on Protein shakes and Water for 1.5days - then on the phase 2. Getting excited just thinking about it. Funny, I'm thinking the old way and fixed my cup of Water and shake at the same time...lolol. NOT gonna happen.
    Blessings

My surgery is Thursday and I'm trying to keep my mind off it. I love reading all your posts! It keeps me positive and reminds me that in a month I'll be almost back to normal only a better version! ????
Here's a joke for you: what did one snowman say to another snowman?

I was in similar boat. At 47 years old, I'd not seen a healthy weight since I was in second grade but everyone (except my docs) told me I wasn't "that" fat. I was approved on a BMI of 37 with multiple medicated comorbidities. It's been right at 1 year now and I've been in maintenance for 3 months. I exercise 5 days per week now and LIKE it. I eat what I like in small portions focusing on Protein but sacrificing nothing. My comorbidities are gone along with all the meds I was taking pre-op. I work at it, but the work is manageable now. Life is GOOD.

@Rovoboy , thank you for checking in on me and thank everyone soooooo much for the support!!! I most definitely need it. He admitted yesterday that he is "beating me to the punch" because I will leave him when I get smaller (which is a load of crap) but none the less he is set on a divorce and unfortunately right now I don't have the energy to fight it. Surgery went really well for me and now I just have to try to stay focused. With the current situation it is pretty hard to get all my fluids in because I am not hungry or thirsty so it is hard to remember to sip all day long while my mind is beating myself up for "why I couldn't keep him happy."
BUT none the less I went threw with the surgery and now I HAVE to think about myself cause no one can drink the Protein for me or make the daily choices that will effect me the rest of my life. So as pathetic as it may sound I am taking my life minute by minute and hour by hour.... .THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!! Thank goodness for BP

Thank you everyone for the feed back, I will be thinking about all this as I am going in for surgery tomorrow. I have decided to go ahead and follow through with the surgery seeing how I feel so much better being 44 lbs lighter already.... Not going to lie, I am scared as hell and still feel extremely guilty, but I am hoping those feelings will fade away after I wake up in recovery tomorrow afternoon!

Wow - that really is a shitty thing for him to do. My only concern with you having the surgery is that you have some support when you get home from the hospital. But absolutely he is the selfish one here, not you! Please put yourself first and take care of yourself. If he is the kind of person to leave you for your looks - you will find someone better who will love you for who you are, and who will support you in taking care of yourself and your health.
So sorry you have to go through this right before surgery, but I'm with all who think you should go ahead with it. I wish you the best.

OK, here's my outsider take...you are not the one being selfish! HE IS! Seriously, with a 3.5 yr old and a 20mth old who walks out the door two days before surgery. I agree you should do what is best for you and your kids...I would ask only one question, do you have family/friends that can help you get back on your feet/help with the little ones?...if not perhaps a postponement of a few weeks while you get arrangements made would allow you to go into surgery with a better peace of mind. You made the decision (a hard one for most) to get the tools you need to be there for your kids, you can make this one as well...

    Well ... that sucks.
On the other hand ... if he was always going to leave anyway, how soon can he move out?
Seriously, I'm sorry you're having to deal with this on the eve of surgery. But his announcement makes it clear that, even if he did stay, he wouldn't be supportive of you.
If you made this decision for all good reasons and are committed to it, I sure as HELL would NOT cancel surgery because of his bizarre attempt to overwhelm you.
Again, so sorry you're having to deal with this now.
Yet, it is what it is. And you have to deal with what it is.
    Very best wishes to you.

I can't believe it's finally here. I am so excited. my check in time is 8:30 with surgery scheduled to begin at 10:30.
I started my transformation on Friday by getting my haircut and colored, cause Healthy Kya has short red hair. Oh yeah.

I'm having the same problem. I haven't had more than 1 soda a month in years. I really don't like it except during my cycle and I usually don't drink it then. As soon as they told me no more soda I have had one almost everyday. Crazy!

I think it's more of a mental thing. I take a Multivitamin daily, a hair skin and nails Vitamin, Calcium + d, and liquid Vitamin D (I was vit d deficient so I've been taking 10,000 units a day for the past 5 months or so). I'd be surprised if I were still short on the vitamin and minerals with that load of Vitamins plus food.< /p>

I'm still in the hospital . I will be released from here tomorrow. I had a great night and this morning my ice chips seems like ice cream. I can honestly say that I've had no issues. I have found a dermatologist down the hall so I'm about to have some botox done. How cool is that. I may be able to go over to the local craft and farmers market in a bit if I keep doing so well. Thanks again for all of the prayers.

    Hello to all sleevers!!
I just wanted everyone to know that my surgery was done around lunch time today..I am thanking you all for the prayers and I'm thanking God for seeing me through the surgery with out any issues. I had a hernia repair as well as my sleeve surgery. I came back to my room took a short nap then went for walk #1. Been out walking 4 times 2-3 laps each time. I've cleaned up as much as possible without showering (only because Doc said absolutely not) and I'm in my own P.J. sitting on the side of my bed catching up with friends and family.
I think that is pretty awesome. I know I have a lot of work ahead but I have been blessed with an awesome start!!!
    Love to all,
    Dawn
