  1. Find out if there is a bariatric center of excellence around you. This may be your best choice for surgeon and follow up. You can just google it.
  2. Banded on a Tuesday and went back to work the next Tuesday. I felt weak but made it through. Was happy for the distraction but I have a desk job.
  3. Had my first fill about 2 weeks ago. I'm down 4lbs from then but looking forward to my next one on 1/5/15. Trying to go slow so I don't get tight and frustrated.
  4. I found that the last week I started to "test" my band. I could go into a whole psychological analysis of why I did this (another post) but that's another time. I did things like snack at night, drank too much wine, ate fast etc. just to see what happens. And you know what? I did all the things that come with that like feel nauseous, run to the bathroom at work afraid of throwing up, and actually had some food come back up. I'm like a teenager testing my parents. Hopefully I'm past my rebellious stage! Anyone else find themselves doing this?
  5. Feel same way. Cookies galore
  6. The difference this time post band is that when I have a "bad day" of eating I don't throw in the towel and think to myself, "why bother. I have so much weight to lose. I will never succeed at this anyway." I now know I have the skills and tools to start again fresh tomorrow. It's so liberating.
  7. Good to know. I just had my first fill and I can definitely eat more than half a cup but less than I used to. I have to remember that I can be satisfied with a half cup.
  8. Congrats and I can't believe you still had your uniform skirt!! Hilarious.
  9. Did you Start the pre op diet yet? That's when it was real to me. Good luck on your surgery and keep in touch here
  10. I am 5 weeks out and I still get pain once in a while
  11. I didn't look at the needle until after. I didn't get any numbing before. Nurse said not worth it and he was right.
  12. I assume I will get billed the normal copay rate
  13. Had my fill this morning. Originally the nurse out in 3cc but I was gurgling a little after drinking Water in the waiting room so he took out .5cc. So I'm at 2.5cc in a 10cc band. Glad I had that .5 taken out. It was a strange feeling! I am on liquids and then mushy for a few days. Hope everyone is doing great!
  14. I'm rescheduled for my first fill in the morning tomorrow. Am I allowed to eat before?
  15. Ugh! Good luck. I am following your blog so I understand what a long journey this has been for you.
  16. How exciting and congratulations. Do you have other children?
  17. You probably just have a lot of swelling. Hope you feel better. Maybe drink small sips. My surgeon said drink like you are sipping hot tea.
  18. Let me know how it goes!!!
  19. I had the same thing. It lasted for 2 weeks then poof! It was gone
  20. First fill cancelled today. My son woke up with a stomach virus and thought I should wait to see if I get it before tightening my band. So it will be next week for me!
  21. What is everyone's thoughts on what is more important, eating less fat or getting your protein in? My surgeon never gave me a per day fat target. Just a protein target. So today I'm doing good in protein but my fat is high.
  22. Getting my first fill today. I was sooo hungry yesterday. It really was the first day I remembered my eating life before surgery. Hungry all the time!!!
